Morning Patrick, I hope your are feeling much better now? A cracking adventure today, loved Thor's Cave and the views from the top into the misty Valley were just absolutely stunning !! Glad the weather played ball too and it wasn't a wet on' in Wetton (sorry lol) :0)
Thanks Steve, still not feeling great but a bit better than I was at least. That mist certainly added something to the atmosphere didn't it. Glad you enjoyed this, thanks for watching 👍
Another great film Pat. As you know, I've followed your channel for years, and I've watched some of the films numerous times. I enjoy your channel now, as much as I ever did. Excellent in every way... the quality of your films is of professional standard. I honestly can't understand why you don't have 200,000+ subscribers. Thanks for all your work. All the best Pat, Terry.
Many thanks Terry, I appreciate all your support over the years. I don't get how the algorithms work on RU-vid, but I'm sure happy to have made it to over 7,000 subs for now. All the best 👍
Lovely video in an area I love. Wise to be cautious in Thors cave, last time I was there I decided not to enter. Long time since I have seen water in the river. Most enjoyable 😊 😊
Great video Patrick. Memories of that area include it being very muddy in parts, and as you say, slippery! Lovely, though. A friend of mine owns Storm Brewery, in Macclesfield...a great pint after a uplifting walk! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks John, pleased you enjoyed it. Slippery was certainly the word of the day especially in Thor's Cave. That was a great pint in the Royal Oak afterwards 👍
What a beautiful walk Patrick that early morning mist was a picture, Thors cave looked an adventure glad you took it steady! I did wonder for a moment if you were going to risk the stepping stones....isn't the Peak District stunning, thankyou for another great vlog with a well deserved pint afterwards 😊 have a good weekend
Thanks Steph, yes the mist added to the atmosphere I felt. You sure have to take care in Thor's Cave but it's always worth visiting. Thanks as always for watching, have a great weekend too 👍
What a lovely place you visited , i never heard of Wetton before. I was fascinated with the cave although if i was by myself would have spooked me alot! So sorry you've not been well, hope you managed to get lots of rest and some good medicine down you. Thanks for posting, all the best!
Glad you enjoyed it Anna, many thanks for watching. The cave is great, but you do have to take care inside. Thanks for your support, I'm still not feeling great, but I'm better than I was so I'm getting there 👍
Glad you are back with your walking uploads. Hope feeling so much better than earlier. An atmospheric misty walk in the weather for your Wetton walk. That section above Thor's Cave quite formidable to be for me. A nice laid back moody theme to your track. Sounded like a full orchestra with the beat of drums joined by light piano parts too. A very impressive piece of filming much enjoyed. Thank you Patrick keep well.🙂👍
Hi Shanita, I'm back at work today after 4 weeks so I'm a lot better now thanks, although still shaking off the last bits of the chest infection. I loved the misty start to this walk, it added an atmosphere of its own. Thanks for your nice words about the music. I used another arrnagement of my Manifold Valley theme here. Glad you enjoyed it Shanita, thanks as always for watching and for your support 👍
Lovely walk Patrick, you were wise to miss those stepping stones! Fast running rivers, no chance! Really enjoyed the music, as always its so evocative and really captures the atmosphere. Cheers.
Great video, those views with sun, cloud and mist in the valley are stunning, warrants a nice big wall framed photo. Nice eerie sounding music you have written Patrick, especially entering the cave, really like the chord patterns.
Another great walk. Think I ve done some of it years ago but not Thors Cave as my ears cause problems in caves .Wetton is a lovely vllage ad the Manifold Valley is spectacular. Thanks for a lovely reminder Patrick.
well Patrick yet another delightful walk.as usual what beautiful scenery and lovely music.cannot wait for another fantastic video.hope you are feeling better.take care.👍👍❤️❤️
Many thanks for the kind words Shane and for watching. I'm feeling a lot better thanks, just shaking off the last bits of the chest infection. All the best 👍
Another nice walk Patrick. We travelled the full length of The Manifold Way from Hulme End to Waterhouses both by foot and bike a couple of years ago. A lovely part of the Peak district. Wise decision not to attempt those submerged stepping stones, although it would have made for amusing viewing :)
The views from The hill above the cave i rate as some of the best in the Peak district...i agree it's not easy getting out of the cave...must people end up covered in mud....A nice watch Patrick...hope you are well on the mend now.
Thanks Steve. I agree about those views, always stunning. It was quite wet inside the cave, so I did need to take a bit more care. I'm still not feeling great with this chest infection, but I'm better than I was so getting there, thanks Steve 👍
Another great film Patrick, the Peak District must be one of the most beautiful countrysides in the world, the scenery in this video is breathtakingly beautiful
A great video Patrick. It was great to see Thor's cave from within, on top, and at a distance. It's always been like a picture postcard scene in earlier times. The Beeston Tor is another grand limestone hill. It was good to see the Hamps and Manifold rivers flowing instead of dry beds. Wetton . . well that's another lovely, quaint village in this gorgeous Manifold Valley district. Many thanks, Patrick, and keep well.
Many thanks Ffranc. I love the Manfifold Valley and Thor's Cave is definitely the highlight. I was really chuffed to see the rivers in full flow as opposed to the dry river beds. Wetton is another favourite village of mine in the Peak District. Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching 👍
@@solitaryrambler Thanks Patrick. Like you said it seems like yesterday when you were last there, and at The Royal Oak. I remember the cat. And I mentioned their famous toe wrestling.👍
Hello Patrick , lovely walk with outstanding views , seeing the two rivers meet reminded me of the river Wye and the river Lugg at Mordiford just outside Hereford . Thanks Patrick
What a beautiful place Patrick...Thanks for showing us this one ..I will have to take a trip upto Wetton myself ...Hope your feeling much better and are able to do somemore great walks ...all the best
Wonderful video Patrick. I visited Thors cave and the Manifold Valley in 2019, it came up on my Facebook memories the other day. I remember the river being bone dry and seem to remember sitting down in it for a bite to eat somewhere behind where you were standing on the bridge. A great walk
Thanks Jamie. It was a real bonus for me seeing the Manifold in full flow as i think I've always seen the dry river bed before now. Glad you enjoyed it Jamie, thanks for watching 👍
Hi Patrick thank you for another interesting wa;lk, we get so much pleasure watching you, so pleased you didn't try the stepping stones,. Take care all the best Dave & Jean.
Morning Dave and Jean, thank you for watching as always, pleased you enjoyed the walk. I'm still recovering slowly from a chest infection and flu, but I'm getting there. All the best 👍
Thanks Patrick, that was really great. It's a while now but I remember scrambling into the cave before there were any steps. Now that was really dodgy but the reward was thrilling.
Absolutely wonderful, Patrick. North Staffordshire is breathtaking. I love Derbyshire but I have to admit this is at least as good, Your videos are very important especially to disabled folk who may have visited the areas in their past
Wow Patrick those views from the top of the cave with sun-bathed hillsides and patches of mist lingering in the valleys. What stunning views and so superbly captured in your video. I could watch those few moments over and over again. November's not my fav month either, but I don't think you'd have captured a scene quite like that in the middle of June. Many thanks for such a great video. All the best.
Many thanks for the kind words Peter. Yes the mist added real atmosphere once it began to clear, so it was a bonus capturing those shots in the valley with it still lingering. Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching 👍
A great film Patrick, just love the Staffordshire side of the Peak Park. Many a happy visit to the Royal Oak in Wetton, remember when Harry & Jane Cook kept it. A superb film as usual, but a special mention for your soundtrack on this one, keep up the good work.
Glad you enjoyed it Jeff, many thanks as always for all your kind words and for watching. The Royal Oak is still a great pub, was always a favourite over the years 👍
A wonderful walk, really enjoyed and good memories of when i walked to Thor's cave in 2016... And yes the entrance to the cave is very worn and very slippery.. A real lovely spot tho..
What an atmospheric misty morning. Later on it did get sunny though, so not too bad. Thor's cave was great and fancy rhino remains being found there. You certainly have a head for heights on that ridge but great views. Fancy saying, how you had never seen the Manifold so full only for it to block your path later 😊. Really enjoyable walk. Hope you've recovered from your bad spell and are on the mend. Cheers Patrick really enjoyable 😁
Thanks Kelly, I thought the mist really added atmsophere especially as it started to lift when I was on top of Thor's Cave. Yes it was odd being used to the dry river bed of the Manifold, only to later find it completely covering those stepping stones 😁 Glad you enjoyed the walk. I'm still not feeling great, but I'm better than I was so getting there thanks 👍
Yep, This one looks like the UK that have come over from Australia to see. Have enjoyed getting a “Taste” of Your Homeland via Your Vids & always laughing with Your style. Based at Worcestershire for Us & seen from Here to London & to Wales. Off to Cornwall next week. Always on the Lookout for You as will be doing when visiting Derbyshire in May😉 Keep up Your Great Hobby. Can’t believe how much is packed into this Small Island Nation. Cheers, Will & Sam 👩❤️👨
That was a brilliant walk Patrick as epic as thor’s cave was the manifold valley was stunning (wow)wise move turning around at the stepping stone 🙏🏼 Hope your feeling better now 🙏🏼 Best regards Simon
Thanks for watching Simon, this is indeed an epic walk. Crossing the stepping stones might have provided some amusing viewing 😁 A lot better now thanks Simon, getting there slowly. All the best 👍
Hi Patrick, hopefully you're getting better now, well you've hit yet another of our favourite places we love Wetton as well, you obviously timed walking the Manifold Track at the right time it looked so quiet (we've always called it 'Track' as it was once the railway), you know I think I can count on my two hands how many times we've seen water flowing down the river in the last 40 years and I did smile to myself if you were headed to the stepping stones, my thought was no chance 😂😂 As for the bench we last sat there in September last year with chickens running around our feet after my cake crumbs. Great film as always, take care until next time.
Thanks Steve, I'm still not great, but I'm getting there slowly thanks. I always try and choose weekdays when I'm on leave from work for my walks as they are usually quieter than weekends. I can't recall if I've ever seen the Manifold in full force before, but yeah there was no way I was going over those stepping stones 😁 Glad you enjoyed it Steve, thanks for watching 👍
Hi Patrick I enjoyed your video very much, it’s a long time since I’ve been to Thors Cave, I’ll have to have a visit again sometime, atb mate cheers Glenn it’s a 👍from me
Hi Glenn, thanks for watching and commenting. Yes Thor's Cave is a great place, hope you get to visit again. Thanks for your support Glenn, all the best 👍
Great video Patrick. Lovely part of the Peak District. I remember the video with the cat. Hope the little bugger is still alive. Random question, have you ever considered doing a "blooper" video. Would be quite amusing to see a bit of you fluffing your lines or falling over! Not that I wana see you get hurt or anything lol!
Pleased you enjoyed it, thanks for watching. I was asked the blooper question for my recent question and answer videos. If you get the time, it may be worth you taking a look at those Q&A videos 👍
A nice fresh start Patrick but you soon warmed up as you headed for the Cave. Yeah steady as it goes - it's easy to take your knee out. What a bigger that would be. Interesting history - an bit like King Arthurs cave. Ah, step or not to step? The is the question. Again a case of being careful - crossing the river could have been hazardous too. Well, 10 years eh? Where was I in 2013? I was starting the Wye river walks. For sure it flies by. Well, another top walk albeit short. You wanted that beer really. Ha ha. All the best. Mark
Hey there Mark, the fresh start was a bonus as that mist really added some atmsophere to the views. Very steep and slippery inside Thor's Cave due to the limestone being so smooth and wet. But what a great place to visit. Yeah very like King Arthur's Cave in some ways, although that particular cave goes back a lot deeper into the rocks than Thor's Cave. 2013 only seems like yesterday in some ways, and amazing that we've both done so much since then. Wow the start of your Wye walks, and look how far you've come in all that time. Yep I made this a short walk as I was aching for that beer 😁 Glad you enjoyed this walk Mark, all the best as always 👍
Hi Des, thanks for watching. Yeah another favourite part of the Peak for me. The stepping stones were definitely a no-no, although it might have made amusing viewing if I'd gone for it with the camera rolling! 😂 All the best 👍
Wow i havent caught up with you for some time Patrick , now got loads of vids too watch , binge time methinks . Great to see you still going , been a long time . Great vids though , pleasure to watch .
