Megan Fox is a Mennonite who lives in a very busy area in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Lancaster is full of Mennonite and Amish people. She has 3 kids (ages 5, 4, 1) and is pregnant with her 4th. She has a RU-vid channel where she has a lot of homemaking content, shares what life is like in Lancaster County and breaks down some of the misconceptions of the Mennonite lifestyle.
She started her RU-vid channel to give people a window into her life. It has grown beyond what she could have imagined. Her hope is that with ‪@MeganFoxUnlocked‬ she can provide some camaraderie and companionship, and create a community of women who value faith, family, and a beautiful but simple life.
Today we are talking about time and home management. This is something that I want to continuing growing in every single year. I am always looking for more inspiration in that area of life in motherhood. Some of the topics we will discuss are: top 3 home management systems, finding time to host and bake and remaining motived when you’re overwhelmed.

Doing the get it all done club was immensely helpful - if anyone is wondering if it’s worth it I had a child go in for two procedures and two surgeries in 2 months and was able to exercise, meal plan to keep my home, clean and homeschool during two weeks stay at a hospital. I get it all done club with wonderful and helping me keep my home running before and after and I didn’t even have to take a day off when I came home and it was a pretty big couple of surgeries that he still healing from now almost a month later I’m looking back at my life would’ve been chaos if I didn’t have systems in place.

I am 70 years old. Our "Children" are middle aged and We are blessed with beautiful Grandchildren. I, too, was a SAHM. How I wish I would have had these great resources, meaning, Podcasts, RU-vid channels, and other Social Media capability with Moms at the helm sharing their tips, ideas, and part of their lives that inspire and help those watching. During my time as a new Mom, it felt like a lonely experience and You really learned by doing and developed a style and ways of achieving what You hoped would be a Happy Home. You did become a Jill of all skills, learned tricks of the trade, and made many mistakes mastering Motherhood. So to todays, SAHM, I say You are very fortunate to be able to access such helpful content geared towards this topic or seemingly limitless topics of interest. Although, little sticky fingers will still make messes, be ware they will be growing up and leaving the house way too fast.

I absolutely loved this. Especially hearing Megan (I follow her channel so that's how I found this video) talk about all the things she isn't doing at the moment but wants to. I thought Megan was doing it all. It was like you were speaking directly to me saying it's ok to not do it all, and about loving the season you are in. It was just what I needed today

We've always done water bottles and sippy cups. Everyone has their own that sits on the kitchen table all day. When we leave, we top them off and never buy drinks when we're out.

Lol I am dying at “it almost feels more Godly to bake your own bread” 🤣🤣🤣 I bake sourdough regularly but the rest of my homemaking skulls are in the toilet. And I don’t mean that I am skilled in cleaning a toilet lol. But I will say that when I was pregnant and sick I did not feed my started for weeks and weeks…it was on death’s door but it survived!! 👋😂🤣

Any other random tips would be appreciated!! I only have 3 and aspiring to gain all the knowledge! Lol Do you do individual sports with your kis? Also how do you get kids to entertain themselves. I assumed it was something they would just learn but my 4 1/2 year old is what I would say more relational and won't play by himself, doesn't want to do quiet time or go play outside with his 2 1/2 year old brother.i force him but he definitely doesn't like it Also what is your approach with bickering toddler boys? My boys will argue, bicker, cry all day long. I figured they're bored -but I can't entertain them 247 lol is this something I just have to get use to? Or what do you do for bickering/arguing --I realize I'm asking a complete stranger for advice but would love any words of encouragement! Or tips on how to approach these issues

I'm laughing at myself because I didn't see this response until today, as I am inept at technology at times. My daughter just showed me how to find responses. So sorry. We haven't gotten involved in sports. Neither of us is very sport minded. However, I know it can be very good for some youngsters for learning good sportsmanship and running off steam. For us, we get all of our Physical Fitness on our farm. My situation may be very different from a mama who lives in town and must always supervise her children. Mine can run around outside as long as they are trained to be aware of the large equipment that goes through our driveway. I feel for mamas in town! Building a huge sandbox helped my little ones a lot. Ours is about 10x5 and has kept many of my children busy. I also have a shallow storage bin with a lid like you might put under a bed, filled with play sand that I set on a rug so I can slide it out from under a little kitchen serving table we have, for winter play. I have a few totes of activities to rotate so they don't always have access to them, like Play-Doh or Lincoln logs. It helps them seem like new activities. Sometimes sitting them in the tub for a bath just for the sake of playing with bath toys or cars in the water can be fun for a while. Occasionally I have dropped in a few drops of food color to make the bath more fun, but not often because of concerns about it on their skin. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Sometimes having them "wash" dishes at the sink in bubbly water can help keep them busy, and you will inevitably get a clean floor when they are done because you WILL have a wet floor to wipe up. As much as possible, try to involve them in your daily tasks. This is HARD but worth it. I would sit them up on the counter to add ingredients and help stir. You can fill a spray bottle with water and let them spray spots on the floor to wipe up. I liked to teach mine at about 4 to begin bringing their own plates to the kitchen when they were done with their meal. Older ones were also expected to scrape and rinse theirs. I think you are probably right that the bickering is mostly boredom. And you are right that you can't constantly entertain them. Even though many of mine are now young adults, I am still raising a three year old and he likes to be entertained BY ME. Sure, it helps to have older ones, but there isn't an easy answer.Each child comes to the family with a new set of traits that will throw you off, just when you thought you had this parenting thing down. 😅 Having children will definitely make you pray more for guidance. I don't know if anything I said will benefit you. Just remember that one of these days you'll miss this. The most important thing is to be consistent in training and teaching obedience, and showing our children a good example by how we act at home toward them and their father. ❤

I loved this!!! Very empowering and freeing at the same time - I loved what she said about baking/sourdough - don’t feel you have to love/be good at it all - reminds me of the book “strength finder”- lean into your strengths. Also, I read the Gospel Comes with a House Key a few years ago and wow- had the same reaction to it as Katie! I feel like I’m being challenged to move from beginner to moderate hostess… I love having friends and fellowship - I don’t love hosting 😆But I’ll work at it bc it’s important and can glorify God.

Yes to the water bottle system! I started doing that a couple years ago and it has saved me soooo much time every time my kids asked for a drink or all the cups in the sink. The only down side is that my younger 2 always lose theirs (we only have 1 water bottle per kid) and we’re always looking for their water bottle. But the older 2 have no problem with it :)

I am assuming they probably stay up real late. I don’t know any kids that actually stay asleep longer than 12 hours at night AND also take a 3 hour nap. Maybe they go to bed at 8:30?
@CBuonpane
@CBuonpane 11 месяцев назад
Yea I need help in this department too. I have a 3.5 yr old now who refuses to nap anymore. I’ve tried to implement quiet time but she wants out within 20-30 min max and she still needs so much interaction. I also have a 4 month old and she naps for 20 -30 min chunks throughout the day but both my kids have always been short nappers. They go to bed at 7 and wake up at 7. I wish they would sleep in til 8:30. I have been trying to get up before them but it’s so early for me. Idk I want to have work time like Megan has and I’ve tried to implement it but it just doesn’t ever work for me. I am lucky if I get 30 min and that’s barely enough time to gather myself and get some water and start a task - then theyre up again. I need help 😂

Probably. My husband is frequently on nights, and so our schedule is very different from most. But our has been on a 10-10 schedule almost her entire life. Just works for our family that way, and that was natural for her even from birth.
@steffa648
@steffa648 11 месяцев назад
@@CBuonpane my kids have napped until 5 and that is because I have made them. It is part of a routine. If you would like your 3 year old to nap I would tell them it is nap time say 1-3. It will probably take a solid week to make this a habit and routine for your child but I believe it can be done. If they get out of their bed then give them a sp anking, 1-2 so they know you are serious. As far as your 4 month old that is normal. The baby will eventually sleep longer stretches as it gets older. I found finding a sleeping schedule online helpful to know what to get expect every couple of months because they are constantly changing, As far as you wanting work time- yes it is hard to get up before 7 especially when you have a 4 month old. I would make your house and raising your children your work. Sometimes these types of interviews make women feel like they aren’t doing enough being a mom. Being your husbands helper is your first priority and then being a mother. Does your husband want you to be working during the day? It is always best to ask him first.
@steffa648
@steffa648 11 месяцев назад
You can make your kids stay in their room until 7;00. Get them a digital clock and cover the minutes with an index card and write the number 7 on it. Tell them when the number shows 7 then they can get out of their room. Eventually they will sleep in longer( I think 7 is a great wake up time because then they can go to bed at a decent time and not be too late).

I'm the same with the water bottles. I have one bottle for each of my two boys. I made sure they were very easy to clean and they keep water cold. I think it's the thermos brand, but they're the exact same type, just different designs. The boys keep the bottles on the dinner table or counter most of the time. It's so so nice for organization and teaches them to be responsible.

When do you plan time to play with your kids? How much time do y’all usually spend actually playing? Just curious if you had any insights into this. Constantly struggle with the balance of “oh I’m not playing enough with my kids” and then things don’t get done or the opposite side of “I got so much done but now I feel like I didn’t play with my kids today.” How do you find a balance? What has your balance been?
