Went *downhill after she left.* Her few guest appearances couldn't help the Trainwreck it became. *_They introduced way too many new Characters to make up for her Departure from the show,_* and it changed the entire Dynamic of 227. It only lasted 1yr after she was gone.

Marla Gibbs is very talented; Florence and Mary are actually quite different characters with different mannerisms and even voice.

Mary should have told Sandra about her worries about Emma on the stoop the way she did in her apartment. But then again, this is a sitcom, and if she did, then we wouldn’t have gotten the twist at the end with the chapter on “Emmalene” beginning another night of love and passion… for profit!
