You mentioned that gorgeous Classic Flap to the centre left of you is beige claire, is that a REV revolving color? It looks so beautiful in your lighting. This is a great video Georgia and I adore this color! I appreciate the tip on the black tissue paper . For the past 6 months they’ve been using black . I’ll now go and remove all the tissue out of my boxes ! Enjoy the bag!
Hi! I was told that the price increase was due do to resellers buying the bags and selling them for more money. People were paying the resellers what they wanted for the bags. Word got back to Chanel that this was happening so they decided if people were going to pay resellers those high prices they should get the profit instead of resellers. Although people are complaining about the price increase they are stilling paying 10,000 for the bags. The only way Chanel will stop price increase is if we stop buying them at those prices.

You can't consider Chanel from this perspective, you have to see the whole company. 1) Chanel is Chanel and so doesn't have to compete with Hermès. Chanel has an exclusive status that Hermès doesn't have: Chanel is a "Maison de Couture". That means Chanel produces "Haute Couture". Only few Maisons in France are allowed to do so and have to respect a lot of rules to avoid exclusion. It's expensive, not just because of the défilés. 2) Chanel clientèle wants a Chanel bag. The designs can't be compared to the diverse Hermès designs. Chanel IS exclusive. Yes, you can buy a bag per month. But you can buy a lot of Hermès bags too (quota bags apart). It's still really difficult to find your targeted/unicorn bag and to buy it from a Chanel boutique (and not from a reseller at a premium price!!!). 3) the American clients only consider these price increases from the point of view of the USA. It's the wrong way to do it. These increases are nothing against the saving, working American women because the targeted customer is really rich. These customers buy a big range if Chanel products, not only bags (bags are just accessoires for the outfits they buy new from the stores several times each year) and they don't care about price increases because they become wealthier each year. By the way, THE targeted market of all luxury brand is Asia especially China. To explain why, consider these self explaining numbers: total population of the USA = 330 millions. Middle class of china= 340-400 millions). 4) Hermès increases the prices too. But as nobody knows the prices of the B and K (the only bags which matter right !?), nobody notices these increases. 5) Chanel has objective reasons to increase the prices (not only for bags but for accessoires, RTW, shoes, ...): No online shopping, closed stores worldwide and during months sometimes, shipping costs increases (container prices X7), energy prices have skyrocketed in Europe (Italy, Spain, France), decrease of leather production and increased prices of cow leather (for example) resulting from a decrease of meat consume in Europe (5% per year), new restricting rules concerning the environmental protection (clean water, avoidance of plastic, ...), increase of salaries, new workshops, training time for new artisans, new stores (especially in Asia), ... As you can see, the problem of price increases is much more complexe than a jealous competition with Hermès!!! Happy new year to you!
