@scratchninja No worries my friend. I shoot at 300 meters as well with my 22s. The range just doesnt look like 300 meter range. More like a 200 meter range. It is just the camera's lense. Well done and good shooting. At that range on my ranch I nail a 8 inch iron gong 8 outta ten times with quality ammo. Love the 22 LR! take care brother.

You are an excellent shot my friend. I love my .22LR Anshütz. I mean, since I just plink away for fun, I usually just go for 50 yards, but I really should start training at longer ranges like you. I've also got a 5.56 Remington PSS which I'm gonna fire at 1000 meters (when I have had PLENTY of practice...).

@bsrman36 I did all my calculations in Excel. The spindrift was calculated by using the Miller twist rule, I have a program for that, all you need to know is, twistrate, bullet weight, length and caliber. The program calculates the drift in cm or inches and I convert that to mils instead. I only calculated the Horisontal Coriolis, because the Vertical version is much more complicated. you calculate this by knowing the distance to the target , the bullet time and location. Hope that helps! :)

@shoktroop you are right that it isnt 300 yards. Its 300 meters which is aproximately 330 yards. Maybe it looks closer since I am filming on x30 magnification. You could get a ballistic program and calculate how long it will take for a bullet with a BC of 0.131 to travel 300 meters and what velocity the speed of sound travels at a DA value of 200. Then you can time how long it takes from the firing point until the impact point and make up your own conclusion of how far the distance is.

just because you dont think its possible to shoot a 22lr at this distance doesnt mean that it is impossible. I know for a fact that it is possible if you have a descent rifle, which I happen to have.

What is happening at 1:26? Something at the top of the target turns white.

@scratchninja Thank you. The PSS has already been fired up to 1000 meters before (the very one I shall be using) so I know it is possible for the rifle. Now, to only find out if it is possible for ME...

@naedanger123 Thanks! Yes Anschütz make some of the best rimfires on the market no doubt about it. Personally I wouldnt use a .222 to .223 for shots out to a 1000 meters. I dont think the bullet will remain supersonic all the way out to that distance unless you shoot a 90gr Berger VLD bullet, I think you might need something slightly more powerful, but my view is only based on what I think, and it might be possible to reach 1000 meters so good luck to you.

Great shots, I with my dice cup of jager ap 74 in 22 lr, arrive at most 200 meters, more or less in order to have the pink 20cm in diameter, with difficulty, however, 'however, you have a nice rifle, the queen so to speak, great video.

Thank you Fabrizio :) I certainly love my "Annie", its a delightful rifle, super smooth cocking, match trigger and very accurate. Its currently being refitted into a PSE-Etac stock which all my´other rifles are. Hopefully I will have some more long range shooting videos up with it, and also some ballistic tests in gelatin media. stay tuned! /Scratch

@hilers72652 Yeah wind is the hardest factor to manage, and thats why I like practising with my 22lr at these ranges. I consider it a good way to learn wind reading which is a good skill to have when I shoot further with my centerfire rifle :)

@shoktroop I will try to use my laser range finder next time, so you can clearly see that is 300 meters mate, if you still doubt me ;)

@naedanger123 Of course its possible to fire a round at that distance ;) But I think it will be hard to achieve a descent group, it all depends on what size of a target you want to be able to hit. The furthest I have shot my 6,5x55 with maxloaded Norma diamondline is 850m at a competition, I succeeded barely in achieving a hit. 1000 meters with a .222 or .223 sounds incredibly difficult since they have worse BC bullets than 6,5x55 and lower velocity. So good luck in your effort! ;)

@hpietschmann I took out the clip that holds the target ;)

@shoktroop Well, the context of your comment and the reply you got from the owner of this video led me to believe otherwise. Oh, and just because I was harsh in my comment (see, I admit my mistakes...), doesn't mean you lose patience right away. That is a sign of ignorance and a disregard for other human beings around you.
