These settings do not make our lives simpler and easier. Rather they make our devices heavier. So It's way better to turn it off despite how powerful your device is
No? They were designed to plant an easily accessible wiretap device in your home, and person. Along with the ability to have you freely input your data and facial scam updates to the mainframe tracking database. Don't tread on me b
Smart phone smart meter smart freezer smart most things now .. but how smart are they really and how smart do you need to be to really use a smart phone 😅
Thank you for doing an Android video. I have needed this. I have an S10e and was still able to find by digging a little most of the things you covered and I needed badly. Thanks again and YES do a video on degoogling - much needed.
Too much to take in all at one time, especially if you're not tech savvy. I'll save this video and go through the transcript and write it down. Then I'll tackle the changes. Please consider there are those that can't follow along that quickly and take it all in. Thanks
Would like to know how to download my photos from Google and keep them in a ssd hard drive. Then stop Google from holding me hostage by making me pay them for storage. Also would be good to stop them from keeping all my photos and videos.
You'll have to download all of them to your computer and put them on a SSD first. Once you've done that, clear them from your Google Drive. Unfortunately, I don't know of any way to get around paying Google for storage unless you use something like Microsoft OneDrive. All the big corporations seem to be intertwined - or partner with - each other these days. Means having access to your photos on your phone without paying Google for it is going to be difficult. That's going to come down to how much internal storage you have.
Yes! Please do a "de-Google" episode if you can. It looks difficult, though. I use Samsung Android tablets...and Apple iPhone (go figure...). I've enjoyed content elsewhere on installing GrapheneOS and the like...but it appears it can only be done on Google Pixel phones. You two put out the most easy-to-understand security content on RU-vid! Mahalo!
If ur still in the dark on it, what tablet do u have? Try searching "installing custom ROM on [device]" and seeing what pops up. Most custom ROMs (that don't have G Apps, such as G Cam and RU-vid, preinstalled) are de-Googled. With that said, since u use RU-vid, u'll always need at least some Google services. FYI: While Graphine OS is exclusive to Pixels, most custom ROMs aren't exclusive to them (most can be installed on any device that has a custom recovery made for it or Fastboot, since Samsung is so popular, many things r supported on them).
If you haven't already done it, an expanded video on just the Location Permission of Apps would be very helpful. I have a ton of these, allowed all the time or sometime. But I have no idea which I should restrict or not. I don't want to turn off something I really need on. Please consider a video or written medium to provide some guidance. Thank you very much.
I think you misinterpreted the setting "HIDE notifications on TV". If you don't want the notifications to appear on the TV, you SHOULD hide them, so you'll want to turn that setting ON. Or is the setting bugged and actually does the opposite of what it says?
Slow down its not a race some of us don't live with our phones glued to us so Slow down. Thanks for the help don't assume we are on our phones all the time.
I hate that this stupid android keeps saying after some time that I dont have any space left on my phone even though I set the sd card as my main storage and Im almost not even using my phone at all - not installing anything, not playing, not taking pictures. Very strange and very frustrating. Does anyone know how to solve this? Do apple phones also have this problem?
Should add to the title: For Samsung devices as it was very difficult to find these settings on my Motorola phone. Even though I have Android 13 the menus are very different from the Samsung menus shown in this video.
Great video. I had missed a few of these when setting up my phone. Samsung phones seem to include a plethora of privacy compromising apps/services. For example, on the topic of location even with location switched off there are 12 services that can use precise location "all the time", e.g. Samsung's "find my mobile" which I have switched off but is still running on the phone and I am not even signed in to Samsung account and it appears as "off" in settings. If I force close it will at some point restart. This is the same for other Samsung apps many of which can't be disabled or uninstalled or have their permissions modified.
Seems I negated a lot of these "problems" by turning the WiFi and Mobile data OFF and only turning them on when needed. And GPS. Saves a LOT of battery.
You guys really need to state up front that you are talking about Samsung specific settings. Many of these settings are not on stock Android and therefore completely useless for Pixel owners. Appreciate the effort, but I was over 4 minutes in before realizing this. I'll find a video from someone that's talking about stock Android.
Enjoyed the video and found it very informative. I would add though, at the begining of these videos, you should indicate that you are using a Samsung device, and if you have another manufacturer, some of the options listed may either be a different name or the settings will be under a different directory structure, some may even be Samsung specific." I have a Pixel 7 Pro and had to search for some of the option names specifically to find them and a couple I gave up as what it was called on your phone didn't exist on mine. I'm running the latest Android 13 with the April Update.
I've just bought the Pixel 7 after having Samsungs for many years. I got sick of their annoying bloatware, and I hoped a Google phone would work better with Google software. I figured the Pixel would look the same as a Samsung. How wrong was I! And why did they swap around the three-button navigation at the bottom! lol
Is it possible to repeat this video, but hold the phone in landscape-, rather than portrait mode, because then there won't be any need for me to use a Magnifying glass? Thanks.
Ooooooh, here's the updated video I asked for in the last one! 😂 Also, samsung is an android. It is not the ONLY android. These tips don't work for all Android phones.
Totally a waste of time with a pixel. The initial slide down leaves an intermediary window that prevents access to the one you show. Going to settings doesn't help either.... The existence of cell phones is for tracking people. Not for enabling people to access anything
DUUUUUDE!!! The dude on the right looks like, moves like, and acts like a young John C. McGinley, the actor! He played Bob Slydell in the movie Office Space!
Yeah I wanted to tell you about the number three Google's running no more and there's nobody taking care of it don't investigations or something and then I don't know what to imagine I can imagine but anyway I appreciate it man remember my Android is still in the all 13 of them thanks for the worst rate and then for being 30th of my years old so far it's working great but problems and problems got problems too I'll call you when you're done thanks if you can yeah I got the 13th phone I don't know I think they burned it out on me already
@@rieaweer7459 Yes need 13+ in a serious way but the manufacturer ZTE won't do it. It REALLY sucks! Any risk with updating anyway? How does one update it?
Please do a deGoogle video... I'm on a Lenovo tablet that's nearing EOL and I want something rather than Android running on it... I'd prefer a Debian based alternative...
I don't know if there is a difference between the Dutch and the English version (it shouldn't I think), but the settings screen looks different to mine (also Android 13/Pixel 6a), and many options you show I havent.......
@7:59 Should I be worried if I don't have the Google Location History option in the list? or does that mean I don't have to worry about that setting? Thanks in advance.
I was able to click on Google from the settings menu and click on manage Google account and then search for location history to find it but I guess then I would ask is there a way to add the setting to where it should be?
Interestlng note: many of these potentially nefarious settings descriptions read " This setting will improve . . . ." Wait . . . "improve" my experience as a user, or "improve" how much information Samsung is gathering and sharing about me. MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS, Galaxy. Please continue making these awesome tutorials 😍
Yes indeed, you're SO right. Can't remember the last time that a much hyped improvement did anything of great import for we customers. My favourite is the trumpeting of new train or tube carriage features. The latest being the boast that it can carry 20% more people. It takes less than a second to realise that this means that there's fewer seats which means that more people will be standing. Not a plus in anyone's book, save the operators.
Thank you for the very useful tips. However I think one critical issue you should have addressed more is the user's personal preferences to consider before making changes to their settings.
Should add to the title: For Samsung devices as it was very difficult to find these settings on my Motorola phone. Even though I have Android 13 the menus are very different from the Samsung menus shown in this video.
I have a junky exynos soc Ultra S22 on Giffgaff UK. Some of your suggestions don't appear on my phone. Is there a difference in software between Snapdragon and exynos?? I notice some of the items Sakitech describes are not on the phone or somewhere else in the settings. Thanks for the easy to listen to ideas. Great channel
Hi guys. Pls help me! I played around in my settings on my samsung s20. There was a option to increase my hz preformence with a warning that my phone can overheat, did switch it on now I don't no how to get back and switch it off pls help.
hmm... let me add you about my suggestion to reduce battery drain (based miui 13, it should same with any brand, i guess)... - as default, all apps battery saving is set to battery recomended... set it all to limit activity background... - some apps is default to both mobile data and wifi is on... find the apps that you not think or need network and set it off... such like gallery, file manager, music, security, etc... ... this 2 should help any device to reduce battery drain as many as posible... ... or.... you wont to the apps are still open in background and using your network even the phone is off or without you notice, right...?
Hi Guys @PayetteForward, first and foremost, great content really just great, thank you, can you guys give any advice on this app Malloc Privacy & Security VPN. Thanks in advance
That allow notifications is WORSE than the notification. Because it does it for ALL APPS - enema those you have Norifications turned off. IMO thats because app designers complained that most (all) users had turned notifications off, and the app generates income only if the **are displayed**. For me, this means I've removed ALL but the absolutely necessary apps, installing and immediately removing most apps only when needed. Arguably more annoying than even that damned Two-Factor sh*t.
Most importantly... The functionality of the phone is willfully hampered by altering any of the default settings. The default settings exist solely to track the usage of the device. Every keystroke. Every swipe. Every utterance. All movement. All lighting. All habits, over time for the compilation of predictable patterns. AI is alive, and should be better known as the original Terminator movie's 🪄Skynet
I have the Samsung A13 just this week metro by t-mobile. They sent me a text, letting me know that, metro by t-mobile. Was hacked. so I panic, so the lady explained to me that my password was secure and ssa too. So I made a new password and a new pin number. but she told me about McAfee. So I said sure and how much it cost? She goes $3.00 every month so I said ok since my bill is $40. now is $43. but I have noticed that my phone is running kind of slow. So I have a QUESTION DO I NEED MCAFEE ON MY A13 FOR ONLY $3.00 a month??? I mean please someone tell me if metro just want to make money. and if I need it?? Thank you.
I need help big time... Is there a way I can turn off "Software Updated" every month there updating my cell, for what?? I have "Galaxy S23 Ultra" next update will be automatically installed this Saturday @ 4am. Hope to hear from you guys soon.
I have been getting slammed with what I think are scams or fraudulent notices or warnings from both AVG. and McAfee. I keep blocking them or reporting them. It's really stressing me out.
HEY GUYS, HELP! I have an Android 11 phone, it's about 2 years old... It frequently wakes up by itself, and the lock screen often flashes like it pinged a lot, and, I find that the bluetooth has turned itself on! I've watched a bunch of your videos, but the only time you mention this is with Android 13, which I don't have, (I tried what you said, but my phone doesn't have those options). I also just discovered that all my notifications turned themselves on. Also, Google won't let me delete my personal information. Am I screwed there? I have turned off everything that I know of, it's not working!
Thank you for this video it is so greatly appreciated I'm having nothing but trouble with Samsung Microsoft and you guessed it Google I would love to divorce Google please make a video.. how to d Google ✌🏽✌🏽🙏🏽
I got an update last night on my Lenovo tablet, now when I turn the screen off, it doesn't go off.....it displays my username, a clock, and if I have a video or music running, and the screen has illumination. So, at night, there's still light from my screen. And the pull down notification menu, from the top, is way smaller than it used to be, it's difficult to read. And the navigation bar is now always displayed at the bottom, taking up screen real estate... These new "features" have reduced the functionality of my device, reduced the enjoyment of device.
You know instead of updates and come back here to blah blah blah Ive got a better idea. Something that my family members including my Dad fought for Its called Freedom and ive got a Constitution and Bill of rights.. Think about it...
Google's gone nuts with stupid features and annoying services, not to mention passwords BS and charges for everything. Riches (and monopolies) corrupt absolutely.
I don't like myself being filmed by anyone! I turn off the camera...and if I view and video it turns itself back on. I'm thinking of taping my lens. I'd like to stop it. Samsung A-10.
This is why iPhone is so popular with old people and girls. They aren't tech savvy enough. Iphones are basically glorified JitterBugs. No customization or specific features like this.
Can we all agree that the Samsung lock screen Emergency Call button is a HUGE mistake? I have read that it is now a Federal requirement for this asinine "feature". I also can't fathom the need of the other false 911 call generating button presses that are impossible to turn off. Do we really need a 911 speed dial button?
You need to have a pilots license, degree in computer science, free home delivery of food etc to study all this! Or get married again? And again! Thanks bros for the info! We've been had in so many ways! Uneducated smartphone users seem to have total control over their phones and conduct business to bring them income !
So, how do I get around the privacy message when I try to use x-plore? I like to play KotOR 1 and 2 with mods but I cannot do that with this new phone. My old phone did just fine with this.
I would also love to see a video from you guys about how to minimize unintentional memory and storage loss. My samsung tablet quit working due to "internal storage is full" even though I had removed ALL documents and pictures from internal storage.
Must have changed something (I am using Oppo Colors), 2. Network Notification is not there... i.e. Colors is different and naughtier ! Other settings too are not there or hidden...
My device admin apps shows "3 Apps" but when I click on it, it only shows 2. There is no option to show system apps or anything else. How can I find out what the third one is?
Wtf .Check out orange circle No 3. Message: your rectal creme is due for renewal. Reply Y/N Are you guys aware of this . This is a turn off on this channel.
