If you're paying $1700 or $1800 for a board there shouldn't be any imperfections or flaws with it. I do like the color scheme though. Personally, the doubling cube size is fine, the super large cubes look ridiculous IMHO. And yeah, all high quality boards should come with precision dice.

My issue is not so much with the size of the cube as much as the quality of the cube with Zaza. The board does come with precision dice, they just get shipped separately.

@@vinr6867 Yeah, I think you said the precision dice came from GammonVillage, I guess as a complimentary promotional product, not from Zaza and Sacci themselves. Nice color scheme, but the price is pretty steep.

@bipolarbear9917 agreed. $500.00 is even a lot for, basically a toy😂

I enjoy your content. You mentioned that you wouldn't pay $5000 for a Geoffrey Parker but I'm guessing your board collection exceeds that value. Do you prefer having a selection of different boards or would you exchange them for a GP?

Thank you! Good point, I would rather have a selection of boards rather than a Jeffrey Parker, sometimes I want to hear the sound of wood and other times I want a quiet board. I also like using different colored checkers and sometimes if playing outdoors I want a board that is easy to clean or one that I don't mind getting dirty. Sometimes if I am on a losing streak I like to change boards.

Liked the review. Yeah nearly $2,000 I would be picky as well. Of course something like this is out of my price range for a board. I don't know but I prefer cubes to be no bigger than 30mm. Just over and inch. To me any cube bigger than that is just too much. 30mm is big enough to be extremely different in size to dice being used and legible enough to see during streaming and for players. 1 inch cubes would be the smallest cube I would use on a set. As long as the numbers are big enough in size compared to the cube. As for scoreboards go. I prefer to get my own rather than have one provided. I am a huge fan of the Katgammon scoreboards and to get any other scoreboard will just sit in a bag never to be used. Precision dice should come with every tournament sized board in my opinion.

At that price range I’m going with a Taki board hands down

How do you care for the leather, if you don't feed it with oil/conditioner/something it will dry out and crack......

@vinr6867 2 года назад
Yes, I will monitor its appearance and condition it appropriately.

@@vinr6867 My question is how do you do this with a backgammon board without changing color/texture, whatever. Did it come with some kind of instructions?
@vinr6867
@vinr6867 2 года назад
@@horacecrane7786 I just applied Chemical Brothers leather conditioner, came with no instructions. Will apply every 3-6 months as needed.

Agree with you for FM Gammon, played the first time on the board and chips all over the slots, what's your idea about Gammoner and P-40 boards? Zaza or Gammoner!!
@vinr6867
@vinr6867 2 года назад
I've played on a P-40 and Gammoner. I like the Gammoner better than a P-40, after some usage the metal P-40 checkers chip and lose their shine and luster. Gammoners are a good size board and they come with 2" checkers without the height of an FTH board. There have been some quality issues with a few Gammoner boards though i.e the tip of a point coming undone. I would choose a Zaza 23" over both a P-40 and Gammoner.

Great review! Have you had an opportunity to compare Zaza & Sacci boards and Hector Saxe?
@vinr6867
@vinr6867 2 года назад
Yes, the Hector Saxe board I played on, for some reason, the checkers did not slide well at all, you had to lift the checkers in order to move them. Don't know if this is a common issue with Hector Saxe boards, but it could be due to lack of care.

Check Wycliffe Brothers 24 inch Backgammon, it is so beautiful and 350 dlls.

I did a review of the 23" Wycliff with nickel plated checkers. I was not impressed with the quality, I would rather have a Silverman over a Wycliff.

Good review. Have you played on the Zaza boards with a microfiber field?

I have not.

Bummer. I was hoping you had and could do a pros/cons to your leather zaza. Smooth easy checker glide/slide is a must. Spills, stains, and possible scratches worry me about the microfiber and where I would have to send my board to get it fixed. One more question. With the board closed, what is the inside height dimension? I ask this because it appears the only place to store a larger doubling cube is on the playing field. I look forward to more board reviews.
