TANGEDCO / TNEB charges Rs 1.25 per generated unit if you feed to grid. They call this as network fee -- so net to net there is never a ZERO bill.

I don't think you can make it 0. In fact they charge more for import and less for export. So you have to pay the difference. They don't set off the units. Please clarify.

What is the bill adjustment policy of TANGEDCO? Are they adjusting 1) Against the units exported vs consumed (or) 2) Against the Bill generated minus the fixed rate per unit for export ie the minimum rate of the commercial contract of that Financial year? Please go through the latest Solar policy of TANGEDCO and enlighten us, sir. Earlier the first option was being implemented. The second option seems to be in place from the last FY. Moreover, there seems to be a restriction for export viz., your sanctioned load at the time of getting a new power connection. Please enquire and enlighten us. Thank you for your great efforts in educating us all...

Apart from 5KW 1 or 2kw panel may be used for OFF grid we will get power from inverter batteries whenever EB supply failure.

24hrs usage of solar power! No no, you are actually using the grid power only but your export power from Solar is much more in terms of the number of units generated. That's all. You can't run the same loads on off grid system with 5kw, correct? Please get the facts right.

It is my understanding that Net metering is not allowed now in TN. Means if you generate 100units and input 100units, it does not mean your bill should be zero. The import cost is much higher than the export cost, which is measured by a bi-directional meter and not a net meter. In which case the purchase cost by EB for the units exported may not compensate the imported cost and you may result in paying to EB for night time usage. Please correct if I am wrong.
