📌MAP : 1️⃣Sukhna Wildlife Sanctuary is located in Shivalik foothills of Chandigarh city, near Sukhna Lake. 2️⃣It was declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1998. 3️⃣The Sukhna Wildlife Sanctuary is a protected wildlife sanctuary. 4️⃣ It is just 2 kms from Sukhna Lake which is spread over an area of 26²kms of forest land spanning the plains at the foot of the Shivalik Hills. 5️⃣It forms the part of Sukhna Lake catchment area falling in Shivalik hills the, rain-fed catchment region partly falls in the area designated for the Wildlife Sanctuary. 6️⃣Flora: mix of forests, grasslands, wetlands 7️⃣Fauna: Sambar deer, Barking deer, wild boar, as well as several species of birds, reptiles, & amphibians.
