Another park for Shane’s scoreboard! So this is where the trip truly started... so magnificent. Remind Shane that this plunge won’t be his first and last... especially when traveling with Dad! Take care and thanks for your consistent high-quality work.
Beautiful! I enjoyed the Grand Teton National Park back in Sept. 2017. Didn't explore too much, but definitely saw plenty of beauty. Thank you for your amazing videos of your adventurous journeys.
Great dad + great son = fantastic memories to last a lifetime...Have been teaching middle school for 25 years and only wish more parents would take that kind of an interest in their children...good on both of you and continue on more great journeys together...
That's the stuff that really blesses my heart! Thank you for the reminder and encouragement. And thanks for your service to the most precious age of Americans. It takes a special soul to teach Middle School (did it myself for 9 years - lol!).
It is so sweet to see your interaction and encouragement with Shane so that he has memories that will last a lifetime with you. We were very grateful for the the no-reservation system and campground entrance line when our E. Glacier and Banff reservations got cancelled and we were just able to do first come first serve for a portion of our summer trip. Gros Ventre went out of their way to find spots for people to stay even if it took a little time in line. If reservations had been required, we probably wouldn't have gotten in and missed doing something we wouldn't have thought was possible. We took our 8 year old granddaughter on the Cascade Canyon Trail expecting to stop at the fork. When she found out there was snow at Solitude Lake, she wanted to try to keep hiking and she did her longest hike ever - 15.5 miles round-trip to make it to the snow. I will never forget her determination to see the snow and going far beyond what she ever thought was possible for her. She got a BIG reward playing in the snow and on the hike back to Jenny Lake by getting to see a black bear eating berries close by. That day will be one of the best memories a grandparent could ever hope for and so happy for you that you are having these experiences with your children.
That was beautiful, Anne! Thanks so much for the encouragement and sure did enjoy reading the story of your granddaughter. More determination than most adults! Beautiful!
I love seeing you do this trip with your son! The Tetons are one of our favorites. Looks like you had a beautiful day. Blessings to your family - making the most out of the summer!
The #1 favorite park for the Vawser family. We try and go there at least every other year. Glad you both got to enjoy the beauty of those mountains before all the smoke rolled in!
Hey Andy, crazy stuff! Last Sunday I pulled the plug on my CA trip to Yosemite and Sequoia - was scheduled to leave yesterday. Praise God, heard last night the two parks were just closed. So sad to see what's happening.
@@AmericasParks Yeah its getting crazy out here. The National Forest directly south of me is completely in flames. I can see the fire from our house tonight. Hopefully you get to go on your trip sooner rather than later.
Super great video. You and your son are making lasting memories!! I've been to the Tetons, but missed those areas you visited. Thanks for the pointing them out.
Wow -- those are some amazing views! I concur with the others: The editing of this video is amazing! I'm confident that those views and this father-son adventure will stick with Shane for a lifetime. Well done!
Another great video, Randy. You continue to be an inspiration with your travels to these wonderful parks and your interaction with your family. Much respect!
yeah it can take some hours to get in the gate depending on what your starting point is... Long Day wow... what a great time in the park! great that he went in the water, love that you always go swimming. cool you found some more remote spots, and Moose !! AWESOME!
The most beautiful and majestic mountain range in the US .. hands down!! Another great video! And... get Shane some food.. he’s going to wither away to nothing!!
hahha, loved it, Ed! In responding to comments this evening, the resounding theme echos your sentiments: Arguably the most beautiful mountain range in the US!
I really enjoyed not only the gorgeous sights of your adventure but the palpable enthusiasm ... excitement of a father/son experience with nature. Absolutely wonderful! Again, your expertly shot content & editing brings it to life for your appreciative audience 😉 Stay safe and well 😷✌️🙏🏼
Love this beautiful video! You did such a great job capturing the beauty of Great Teton National Park! One of the first things I thought when watching is thank God we seem to be past the worst of COVID. NO MORE MASKS! Well, there's a few that still wear them but for the most part we're past it. This video brought back so many great memories of my visit there in 2019. I attempted to hike to Inspiration Point. But my bad knee was starting to complain. LOL Never take your knees for granted. 😏 I've got some decent photos of Mormon's Row and that barn. I couldn't help but think how it must have felt to live there and wake up every morning to that view of the Tetons. Great way to start the day. Thank you for sharing this with us.
I went to Grand Teton over the summer and it was beautiful. I did the Snake River float trip and loved it. Thanks for being such a big supporter of my channel! I might reach 50 subscribers soon.
Wow the editing is stellar in this video! I would love to try the Cascade Canyon trail sometime, so pretty. I also love the western music accompanying the old barns.
Cascade Canyon just may be my favorite trail in the entire Parks system. Being in between all the peaks is incredible and the first turn you make when the valley opens up in front of you is breathtaking. I always recommend this one!
Thanks for another great video, Randy! We visited Grand Teton this week and it quickly became one of our favorites. Haze from nearby fires clouded our views a little. We slept near Moran junction in covered wagons - quite a memorable experience! Keep inspiring us to see the parks and inspiring us to spend time with our family.
Ah, loved it. We drove out to Dubois from MN last summer. Then got up at 4am to get a spot at Jenny Lake Campground for 5 nights. We did the Cascade Canyon hike up to the fork (9 miles total). Saw 4 moose. It was my favorite thing we did in Grand Teton. Stay safe! Be well!
You guys did well! That Canyon trail was the best. Would love to hike the entire loop. And congrats on the JL campground. That one fills up the quickest!
Photography was breathtaking. The landscape looked as beautiful, if not more beautiful, than any of the 16 parks I have visited. Maybe it was my mood but definitely want to see it soon. Thanks so much for all the time you spend creating and editing these. Really look forward to your videos. Hope to run into you and family some day. 15 of the parks
Awesome Footage, you are correct that your son go remember that cold Dip In a beautiful lake. My son and I were going to hike Mount Whitney last month but they close it down due to the California fires. Love doing stuff with my boys, keep up the awesome videos.
Grand Teton looks amazing. We've not had a chance to get out west yet but your videos make us want to get out that way! The moose. What?! Incredible. Our mountains don't look like that in the southeast. Really cool that you came across new friends on the trail. Mormon Row. What a view. Can you imagine waking up and that is your back yard? Wow. The Tetons are just gorgeous!!
My absolute favorite Park! Cascade Canyon is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been in and hanging out in String Lake right at the base of the range is always the perfect way to end the day. I also really like hanging out on the docks at Signal Mountain and watching the sunset. I've probably driven up and down the length of GT about 30 times and those mountains never lose their beauty!
Ahh man, that is one thing about the big parks, all the waiting...but I see why, beautiful place...man what a great place to walk. Cascade canyon seems to be the place to soak er in. Keep rockin the adventures!
Grand Teton National Park is someplace I've never been to yet so was cool to see on your video. Looks like you went during a really good time of year and the weather looked amazing. Totally beautiful park and I'm sure you wish you had more time there. Thanks for sharing your adventure brother.
I think Grand Tetons is in my top 3 national parks I want to visit. Looks so beautiful! Looks like you and Shane had a great time. Surprised you got him to go underwater lol thanks for sharing!
Phenomenal National Park. I'm so glad you made it to the barn this time- we still haven't been to that spot. This entire area is just gorgeous! Thank you for taking us along with you. String lake looked like a great hidden gem. 🥶 COLD 🥶 but lol addictive? Beautiful ❤️
Randy and Shane, Grand Teton is one of my favorite National Parks - I also tent camped there in 1976 and I plan to visit this park again soon. What a national treasure. And great job on the video!!! Shane is very lucky to have a summer vacation in Wyoming with Dad and you went to the best spots. I am always so impressed with Shane’s hiking ability. THANK YOU FOR TAKING US WITH YOU, . . . Mike
I am there right now. I ended up camping at a small nice campground about 30 miles from Jackson. This is my 4th trip to the Tetons and I always look forward to it. The scenery is hard to beat. I know you recorded this last year. The crowds here and in Yellowstone are crazy large this year, compared to last year when I visited. I got stuck in a ten mile long traffic jam leaving Yellowstone yesterday but it was still worth it.
Very nice video with a different view of this great national park! It always remind me on the pictures of the great photographer Ansel Adams! Greetings from Switzerland and have a great day!
Hello there! I’m a new subscriber who has recently found a new love in hiking during this whole pandemic. I recently spent about 5 days in Yosemite, and used your Yosemite videos prior as reference. And now I watch your videos as reference for future backpacking/camping trips. Love the channel. Keep it up and I’ll see you on the trail.
Love reading stuff like that! So encouraged to know of your passion for hiking the outdoors and the ways you have found the videos helpful! Have a super week!
wooooo 4 hours from your house by flight? its already take me from Bali to Maldives more or less.. but enjoy all the travelling rituals no?.. wonderful park always.. love the color of the video too
Great video! Love watching your channel. We actually recently started a channel watching videos like this inspired us to share our travels. Thanks for the info in the video
Hello America's Park's😊! Father & Son trips are awesome. My son Alex & I have have hiked and road tripped all over this beautiful country and it's great you & Shane get to experience that. I have been to Grand Teton and explored the lakes and trails, and also drove up to Signal Mountain. Grand Teton is such a breathtaking Park and will definitely get there again. Luckily, we didn't see any bears. On another note, guess what National Monument is now open...Rainbow Bridge, National Monument😊!! That boat tour starting at Wahweep Marina to Rainbow Bridge is now open. You got to check it out. Great video Randy, can't wait for the next one.
De cîtva timp am descoperit videoclipurile tale, sînt minunate , și coloana sonoră e ambientală mi-ar plăcea să pot vizita si eu celpuțin un parc național American felicitări , și multe alte videoclipuri !
Appreciate the very kind words! A warm welcome to the channel! Really hope you can visit a National Park in the USA one of these days! In my opinion, I'd recommend southern Utah!
Long time no see, friend! Been busy but havent forgotten about you and your wonderful adventures. This place is definitely on my bucket list and even more so now! Wyoming is just... amazing. Absolutely gorgeous videography and scenery. Great video! Thanks so much for sharing and hope y'all are staying safe and healthy🙏🗻
We really wanted to get back to GTNP this year. It was not in the cards. Lines stink! We just go to Gros Ventre Campground. Glad that you and Shane had a great trip! Cascade Canyon is one we want to do too! Friends from IA! Woot! We love all the historic structures! Thanks Randy!
Thanks, Kay! Sorry to hear about your inability to get to GT. It has really been a tough year on many accounts. Was supposed to leave today for Central CA. Sad to see the many wildfires out there.
I was in the shop when that sign was made. Bam. Camp up at the pass from Dubois. Its only 35 miles up to NF. Cascade is it. If you go up Death Canyon walk around and down it even better. Lots of animals. Anf they don't care about you. Moose Bears. Have walked into dozens at dusk dawn on Teton trails.
Nice... We skipped Grand Teton when we went to Yellowstone, but if we go back we're going to have to at least do one day to check it out. It looks lovely!
Nice one Randy ! Your son must of been happy 😊 to have you for himself !👍😉Great moments together that he will remember all his life ! We spent 3 days in the Tetons after spending 4 days in Yellowstone it was stunning ! We saw Jenny Lake also but didn’t do the boat ride and no hiking since Hélène is always having a hard time with her left knee . Did also 3 videos of this stunning area. Have a great upcoming weekend! H&S 👩❤️👨🇨🇦🌈
Hi Stefanie, yes, we went there back in 2016 - it should be in the Colorado playlist. (One of my first videos, lol! ). Thanks so much for your kind words of encouragement. Here it is: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oy4SrsaItbI.html
The Grand Teton National Park is tied for my daughter Kaylee's most anticipated National Park. Thus our plan to go to that area next summer. Thank you for sharing a bit of the non glamorous side of your adventures. It's a great reminder that there are efforts that need to be made at times to reach these beautiful places. Every time Kaylee sees a modest body of water in you video she say "Oh he's going in for sure Dad" LOL. We loved seeing Shane go in as well. We actually passed the video and guessed what he would do. We both agreed that he would because he has a great Dad :) Very brave to get in that cold water. Thanks as always for sharing these videos. They bring us much joy. We are out of the fire evacuation zone In our county (Whew). Praying for those affected. Lots of rain coming in the next 24hrs. It will be interesting to see the impact that will have. Much love to you and the family
Glad you got to see a moose! The Tetons are so beautiful--I/we can just look at them for hours. Thanks for once again taking me away form home for just a bit. I think it might tide me over until our next little Fall Break adventure in 3 weeks. Planning a trip to Fort Donelson and then the Sgt. Alvin York historic site in TN. God bless.
Fantastic video. When I was last in Grand Teton National Park, my wife and I entered in the morning, from Jackson Hole area after taking in the beauty of the place and the next thing we knew it was dusk. We should have picked a campsite as we entered the park at the visitors center, huge mistake. Slept in the car very rememberable. Going to Colorado National Monument this weekend.
Too bad you and your son only had 24 hours in one of the most gorgeous parks in the west! we live in Idaho Falls only so close to Craters, Yellowstone and Grand Teton. we are blessed. hope to see you o the trail!
Hey Farren, you just about described our entire trip from last summer - three parks in Idaho, Fossil Butte, Yellowstone and Teton! You are blessed indeed... such an incredible area!
Apparently, I have been to Grand Teton and Yellowstone. I was age 2. So I don’t remember a lick of it. Grand Teton is on my top 5 desired parks to go to I think. Love the looks of it. Again... those snow capped mountains pull me in.
Hey buddy, I hear ya! We were moving because we tied 2 days at Yellowstone and 3 days in Idaho into this trip. So much to see/do at GT. Hope all is well with you, Diane and the family!
It's interesting to watch the subtle changes in national park visits during the Covid 19 pandemic. It looked like the Jenny Lake boat had about half of the seats removed. Our family including our four-year granddaughter also went swimming at String Lake. Great video.
Yes, thankfully the crowds weren't too bad which made for a short wait while accommodating limited seating on the boat. Neat to hear you went to String Lake. Sweet little hidden gem!
24 hours isn't much time in that park! It looks like it's fairly big with a ton of things to do! Congrats on getting in the water Shane, much braver than me!
Yeah, a few days would have been much better and a little more relaxed, but we didn't want to miss some other notable places in the region. Arguably the most beautiful mountain range in the US! Have a great week, Josh!
Best mountains in the US! When your son gets a little older, hike on up to Delta Lake or go for Lake of the Crags😁👍🏼. Another great outing with the lad😉
Another top notch video. Video was gorgeous looking and really captured the beauty of this park. This park is more beautiful than I remember. I went a few times as a child but really do not recall much except for Hidden Falls. That sticks out in mind because I was obsessed with waterfalls. Is it your preference to do short 1-week vacations or are you limited to that timeframe? Just curious as I am not sure I could travel like that and limit myself to just 1 or 2 days in some of these parks. We tend to fully explore parks for multiple days if the parks highlights, size, etc. warrant it. We usually do one big trip (~3 weeks) each year with some extended weekend trips sprinkled in for some of the more local sites. However, you are getting out west multiple times a year which is amazing. My thought process is that there are so many other destinations to see and that I have no idea when I may be able to return. Neither way is correct, just different philosophies and circumstances. Also, just finished up a four day camping trip my oldest son who is 12. We hit Friendship Hill NHS, Antietam and Monocacy Battlefields, and Shenandoah in order to hike Old Rag. Not sure if you have ever hiked Old Rag but it was an epic hike. Highly recommend. Beautiful views and a very fun 1 mile rock scramble to the summit.
Sounds like you had a great trip, Michael! Neat to hear about the memories you are creating with your son! I've hit that area, but it was the "pre-vlogging days" and limited in its duration. Hope to get back in the near future. Yeah, like you said, a personal preference. We have chosen short stays at a few parks over a 8-9 day trip - vacation time for 4-5 of these trips/year. It makes more multiple video opportunities and nice if I return to hit stuff I missed on an earlier visit. Take care!
Americas Parks we had an absolute blast and great weather as well. Most importantly, quality time with my son. Added bonus in knocking off Old Rag. I have had that circled for a few years but know it wasn’t feasible with the younger two sons. I’ve looked into flying to see if I can make the western parks more accessible and maybe do more than one trip per year. We are a family of five and just the flight alone puts us $1.5k - $2k in the hole instantly. Pretty big pill to swallow for multiple trips. So one big trip a year for us right now.
Just for future reference, that particular Dubois is pronounced DOO'-boys, not doo-BOY' (my uncle's friend is the curator at the military vehicle museum there, and I don't live all that far from there) - I know it looks like it should be the latter, but it's not actually. Another point of interest if you're ever back that way, there's a giant jackalope inside the Exxon there.
