Wall Drug is the classic "tourist trap" but in the best way. As long as you embrace it for what it is, it's tons of fun. Badlands National Park is just stunning.
I love this unpretentious, very natural and down to earth couple. Looking at those influencers who introduce expensive handbags and fashion styles make me feel their lives are impractical.
I absolutely loved the moment the resistance band snapped. Like- that was the most real, unedited thing and I love it. Plus need me a partner who kisses me a wake and says coffee is ready. *aww emoji*
Kara and Nate are the best duo, and every single week they help everyone including me to figure out where they want to travel to after the pandemic. Thank you so much Kara and Nate!
I'm so used to being the kind of person that doesn't like sleeping outside, camping and van life stuff and I really adore the comfort I have at home and indoors in general. But the more I watch your videos, the more lighthearted and adventurous I become and the more fun it seems to me to get out of the comfort zone and do some of the things that you do. Thank you for not only being fun but also an inspiration!
its so nice to see kara remembering the story behind the picture with the drum. After countless experiences she still remembered the whole night clearly :)
Today is a sad day. After months of binge watching K&N, I have finally watched all 764 videos. Discovered this channel middle of last year from the Mount Everest vlogs and went back and started watching from day one. I love the channel enjoy exploring the world through their eyes.
Just discovered y'all yesterday and am proper obsessed after watching like 5 hours 😂 yall are so likeable and fun..please come to The Chesapeake Bay bridge/ Eastern shore of Maryland..legit one of the scariest bridges in America. ..keep making material y'all rock!
Oh, welcome to the community! Have fun binge watching if you choose to! Starting with the Tokyo flight, you are in for the adventure of a lifetime! Finding Kara and Nate kind of changed my life in all the best ways.
We stopped at Wall Drug for hours in 1969 traveling across the country on a all summer trip around the USA when I was 14. (mini version of your adventures) I had a Wall Drug sign on my bedroom wall for years after. Thanks for bringing back the memories.
Oh my gosh! This Aussie family got sucked into stopping at Wall Drug too on our 2 month adventure in our motorhome across America & Canada. It was hysterical. The kids loved the “live” dinosaurs!
You two are such a lovely team and a dream to watch. Your connection between one another and your energy is magnetic. I only recently came across your channel but I absolutely adore your content! Cant wait to see more of your "crazy ideas" love it!
I’m loving the shout out for Eamon & Bec and Kinging It❤️❤️❤️ i’ve been watching them for years as well. You introduced me to the endless adventure & they introduced me to kinging it.
As a South Dakotan I'm so glad you came back and spent some time. The maple donuts are the best for sure, I kept thinking get the maple donuts!! Have a safe rest of your trip.
This place is on my road trip list for the end of this month! Can't wait to see it! Thanks for giving me a heads up on what its like! Love your vlogs! :)
Omg I'm in the middle of watching the really old vlogs from the first year and there is SUCH A BIG DIFFERENCE between 2016 Nate talking to a camera and 2021 Nate talking to a camera. Wow.
Did you see the vlog from Nate's brother's wedding during their first year? Nate had always hated public speaking, but he was awesome giving the best man speech. Speaking to the camera for 5 months helped his confidence. Imagine, he's now had something like 5 years practice.
Haha, I was thinking the same yesterday watching the old episodes from Portugal and then jumping on the more recent from Dominican Republic. The difference is huuuuuge.
@@spooniesarah No, I haven't seen that one, but I can only imagine. I watched a clip from one of the earliest videos about how he had to get over his fear of judgement really quickly. It really is interesting to see the change.
@@karolinamackiewicz514 I'm digging through the full set of videos, top to bottom. I'm looking forward to seeing them in countries outside of Asia, but we'll see. No idea how long that will take, but I'm on the ride now!
I'm watching the entire series of Vlogs for the 4th time now, and have done a few individual ones more than that! This last time through I noticed RU-vid deleted my "like" on their videos so I'm going through them all to make sure they get clicked and keep Kara and Nates popularity algorithm up in RU-vid's system. You can see how much Kara and Nate rely on and need (love) each other when you watch the videos like Nate doing a long "travel miles trip" flight by himself and the one where they wanted to see 2 different things in a city on the same day but didn't have time to do both one after the other, so they each went to one by themselves to film it and they hated not experiencing those things with each other.
Thank you for putting so much care into all that you do and making the effort to film it all for us to join along side you and yours journeys! You both are amazing lights in this world and we all love you for it!!! Love your work!!!
Don’t feel bad Kara, I, my 47 years, have believed that Narwhals were mythical creatures and not real until recently. Now I question everything “Wait, is it real?”
I'm so excited you guys did a video on Wall Drug! Definitely my favorite "tourist trap" out there. "Western Disneyland without rides" is the perfect way to describe it. It was lovely to see it again in your video. - Rachel
Just found your channel, like it so far ( loving it with a few rums :) ) Have been in the U.S and Canada about 20 years ago (14 at the time) LOVED the place and the people. CRAZY how insane some places and people seem on the News here in Australia (mainstream media make U.S.A out to be a war zone most of the time) Absolutely love how the REAL Merica is so wholesome and friendly, even if it is a "Drug store, Truck Stop or Gas stop" (the note for the camp site was sooooo good and would made me feel at home) Just rambling now (too many Rums................NEVER)
You both are so easy to watch, we were watching and decided to watch from the beginning. I love that you both are just yourselves and some how manage to take us on the experience with you. Love, love this channel our favorite for sure ! ❤
This is kind of random, but I have been watching a lot of your videos lately and I'm super impressed with your videography! You are able to make it feel like a movie or as if we are with y'all.
I love the chapel. They have those mexican blankets that I like. It amazes me how fit Kara is. I think you balance each other. Kara is fun and easy going. Nate is intense and regimented.
You’re on the road so you’ve got to pass a lot of truck stops. HINT a lot of truck stops have showers available, especially bigger ones, some are even really nice. It’s a good option, pull in for gas, some food and a quick shower. I highly recommend.
Agreed, I had to go on a road trip 2 years ago. Going up to a friends cabin. Went by a truck stop, the showers there were really nice and honestly it was super cheap. Definitely recommend.
I absolutely love watching you guys and seeing your adventures all over the world. I have always dreamed of traveling the world but couldn't afford too. Maybe one day! For now living vicariously through your videos!! Love them keep them coming guys!!
Ok I know this is an old video, but I just discovered you guys and I’m making my way through. #1 - your videos bring me such joy. I miss traveling so much and watching your vlogs and discovering you two came at a much needed time for “joy”. #2 - Kara, I too thought the mighty Jack-a-lope was real into my young adulthood. For the record, I’m still not convinced they’re NOT out there somewhere. Happy Trails ❤️ Jules
Funny thing when Kara and Nate were eating their food in wall drug i sat exactly where Kara sat. I thought that was pretty cool. Love watching your guys video's. Keep up the good work.
We're so glad you did this video! Driving cross country (to get to Glacier NP) and would not have known that this was worth a stop without your video. Cheers to weird places. :)
Kara that look, whatever it is meant to be, is not good on you, give it back to Nate or donate to goodwill. The jacket shirt thing is about 6 times too big on you!
How do you guys manage to NOT buy souvenirs everywhere you go????? Or do you buy stuff and send it home? It would be super cool if, someday when you've stopped traveling, you were able to open all these boxes of mementos.....
We appreciate everything that you do for us viewers. I literally wait for Sundays to watch what you have in store for us. Keep doing and keep entertaining us while taking care of yourselves. Stay safe guys. Love from India 🇮🇳
hey guys i’m such a huge fan! i have been following you since almost day on and have been love being apart of your journey! i love watching all your videos you guys are nice and funny . today we actually are in south dakota to see the badlands, spear fish canyon, devils tower, and mount rushmore ! but for the night we stayed in this cabin just to wake up this morning to go to the famous wall drug store bc y’all inspired us to go! so thanks you so much for all you do - xoxo
This is literally my dream/goal I so badly want to get a van or minivan whatever it shall be, and just be able to feel free, peace, no stress and just express my kindess and the love and to meet new people and LIVE life!!! This is awesome I found you through the one resident video and I like you guys instantly nothing but good vibes!!! 💗💞💗💞
My experience in South Dakota with Badlands, Devils tower and Mt. Rushmore was very similar. So cold at Devil's tower and lovely and warm in Badlands. I made it to Rushmore, but might as well not have as it was so foggy you could barely see it 😖 All of this was in 2006 as a very inexperienced 20 year old traveller... so this video has been a brilliant trip down memory lane for me! ❤️🙌 Thank you!
@@CarrieLuikens I think 2006 must have been a bad weather year as I was there either the last day or 2 of August, or the first day or 2 in September. But Chicago had been miserable weather the whole time before S.Dakota and spending the night in a tent in Cody, WY after South Dakota is an experience I'll never forget - it got SO cold!!
"My face kinda hurts." Another classic K&N video!! Shame about missing Mount Rushmore. I had just watched the movie North by Northwest (1959) so was looking forward to seeing things in 2021.
When I was around 3 my Mom took me here. The ice cream is so amazing, and tastes way better than Ben&Jerrys. The things your see are crazy, and how just 818 people keep that place running, (+tourists) is crazy. Keep up the good work!
Awesome video.. brought back a lot of memories. I used to live in wall, SD. My grandparents ran a fireworks store next to the highway from the main road into town . So many good memories of that town. As a young teen it was magical.
You guys have grown so much! I am loving your videos and how you have adapted to the changing times! I hope one day you can come back to Canada and do a cross-country (once we sort out our crisis better).
I had my first buffalo burger at Wall Drug in 1966,when I was 5 years old. I've visited many times since and I always have a "Where the heck is Wall Drug? " on every vehicle I've owned. My name is Bicycle Bob and I approved this message.
I'm 82 and my father had the driving gene. In the 50's/ before the Interstates. we would take road trips from Chicago and go west. I can remember Wall drug signs in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri and many other states. Good times.
Hi Kara and Nate! Im from Philippines and I've been watching your travel videos for a week and Im very impressed of how you manage your time and your money travelling. And I also love how much u value each countries culture and how eager u guys are to explore it. Im also touch of how generous you are for giving that lady a $500 tip. Hoping you two are safe in every travel you are in. Godbless you more. 😘
Because of a bizarre series of circumstances.. I needed to choose a place to stay somewhere in this area of SD. Because of this video, I knew Wall was a worthy destination.. I cannot wait to come see it in person in a few weeks! Merci guys!!
Oh my gosh! I've been watching your videos from the start of your 100 countries. I just made it to this video and freaked out when you used the News Nation clip. I work for News Nation!!! Oh my gosh that just made my day! Love you guys!
just subscribed. Watched the bunker vid too. Don't you worry about the jackalope mix up Kara. Nate definitely said " Haven't you ever heard of a jackalope?...." which does kinda convey that they are a real thing.
