When we go to Mexico we usually just get snacks and drinks from Oxxo. Ready made food is not the move. Glad you showed everyone they’re a better off going to a street food vendor.

Convenience stores food is not a big thing in MX, we rather have literally anything else outside on the streets. All of it is REALLY bad, but the 7evelen pizza is a hidden gem. The 7eleven donuts are also nice, specially a glazed thing called Popper, is filled with sweet cream cheese.

Those peanuts are sold in Mexican shops in the US. They're called Japanese style peanuts. Also coffee Coke is also sold in the US.

Japan's convenience stores 10/10 mexico convenience stores 5/10 Bcs in mexico we can eat in every corner of the city cheaper than most of the convience stores. Thats a rule we mexicans know

That's because there's a lot of street food that kills convenience food. Convenience food stores here don't invest much in full meals/snacks because of that.

i’m from the North of Mexico, it’s not a thing up here, but as far as i’m aware of, it’s pretty normal to put potatoes on tacos down in CDMX, specially if they out nopales too, but again, i can’t tell you a 100% sure

To me it looks interesting, although I once had some tacos with diced fried potatoes and nopales instead of cilantro and cebolla and they were AMAZING!!! It was a place in Tulcingo, Puebla like 14 years ago.

711 Japan is literally not coming... What they're doing is adopting Japanese *style* 711 business practices. What we're gonna get is slightly better American food as they source recipes from regional chefs and restaurants.

I was in Japan for 2 months in 2001 at that Cerulean Hotel and there was a 7-11 just outside. The first time I walked in 2 days later after arriving, and after working 14 hours they greeted me with the greeting and almost knocked me over and stunned me, and I was so happy with the greeting. I grabbed 2 Egg Salad sandwiches, went to my room and started working. I finally tried one around 15 minutes after and stopped working. DAMN that was the best egg salad ever along with the bread! I can't say much more than that. It stunned me how good egg salad can be.

The gordita reminded me of the Matamoros style bistek tacos...the only thing missing was fresh avocado slices. Just cilantro and onion is alright, but with fresh cheese and avocado is where it is at.

Not necessarily true. Countries like Japan, Thailand, France and Mexico have highly proficient cooks and can make anything well. In fact 90% of the best restaurants in NYC have mostly Mexican cooks because they are highly skilled. Fondue is not exactly rocket science. Mexican food is way more complex than fondue.

If I do Nissin Cup noodles, I cook it a bit less and then I drain the broth into a secondary bowl. Helps to keep the noodles from getting soggy.

711 is just not the culture in mexico, at all lol. you go to a street vendor or street cart for quick, yummy food. not 711. its good for chips, candy or a panecito for your coffee. thats about it. as a mexican, i like it this way. some of you romanticize egg sandwiches too much. 😂

He ALWAYS tries the food at a 7-11 in EVERY country he visits, just to see how they compare with the US and with other countries. He knows darned well that he's not getting good food like he would get from a street vendor, and that's the same for every country he visits. He knows, guys! But this is something he does on his channel whenever he's out of the US. I don't know why that's so hard for ppl to understand.

If you still are in Mexico City you need to try the "chile en nogada". It's a seasonal traditional Mexican dish and right now is the season!

@@Que2941 Chile en nogada is a poblano pepper filled with sweet and savory minced meat (kind like turkey filling, is beef and/or pork with some fruits and nuts), covered with nogada sauce (cream, milk, walnut, sherry wine, sugar) and some pomegranate seeds. It is sweet, savory and just a little bit spicy and as long as you like sweet and savory food you'll love it!

@@kristelfiore1330 el mole tiene un sabor único, no se parece a otro platillo y no se parece al chile en nogada. Podría decirse que el mole es el equivalente mexicano del curry (aunque saben muy diferentes). El mole es una salsa algo espesa hecha de chiles, especias y semillas. Hay más de 20 tipos de moles, pero los más populares son el mole negro, el mole verde y el mole rojo. Es uno de los platillos más típicos de México y vale la pena probarlo, es muy rico!

OXXO it’s owned by a beer brand “Cuauhtemoc Moctezuma”, they sell mostly US brands as well. But they include what would be the Mexican competence to those brands.

Those peanuts are Japanese. A Japanese migrant started selling them in Mexico as Japanese peanuts… funny fact, if you go to Japan they sell them… but, they’re called Mexican peanuts.

7-11 in Mexico it’s owned by US companies. Their product are 3% Mexican brands, 1% local products and everything else are US brands.

They have 1 Mexican brand of chips Barcel, and 2 Mexican brands of candy De la Rosa and Marinela. Gamesa was sold to a South American company in partnership whit a US company. Everything else it’s US brands.

@@miguelangelquezada6404 You are confused. One thing is the brand and other is the company. Gamesa is a Mexican brand, own by a foreign company. All Mexican brands are produced in Mexico. The same with Coca Cola products (the brand is USAmerican but the Mexican company who makes and sell the products is Femsa.
