Flower 🌸 is used for tea also roots when dried make a tea boil water and pinch of roots cook for about one min , shut the flames off . Cool or warm will extra boost immune system. My father used dandelion one of many things to beat his cancer. This should be next thing for you to teach people about nature and remedies. Good show keep going.
You are getting there with your fly fishing. Let the rod to the work. You don't have to use your arm to get the line out there as you might, with a spinning setup. Also, when you set your line after a strike, just lift it up a bit more gently, almost as if you would a back cast. Final tip. When possible, keep as much of your fly line off the water as possible. Dig your Vids..
Use a dry dropper set up on fly rod look up the rig on RU-vid. It's a dry fly on top and a wet fly on the bottom so instead of the fish hitting the indicator, it'll hit the dry fly and you'll catch more fish
Definitely had to smash the like button, bro. Thanks for your hard work making a survival video, and I thought it was absolute fire! When trout are hitting the surface I tie on a floating popper fly and leave about 2 feet of line between a small bobber and the fly. The bobber adds extra weight to help cast the popper and a few rod twitches make it irresistible. Might work in a pinch my dude.
Love your videos! But I have to say when I saw you throw those fish guts in the lake I was disappointed. bury them in the ground or at least in the woods so other fishermen don’t have to look at decaying guts. Keep up the awesome content.👍
Not the ideal surroundings for fly fishing with all those trees and shrubs around you but your doing well 👍 keep it up and hope to see you fishing a team of flys in the future as you progress 💪
Dandelions were brought to America on purpose. Very nutritious and full of health benefits. Also can be made into a wine. Most people treat them as a weed though.
Nice but don't start at night right before bed after you just had a huge meal most likely. Basically was only a 12 hour challenge and you already said you don't eat breakfast so no suspense. Just try a Noon to Noon trip or 10am - 10am. Makes it more interesting for us knowing you are going to have to catch like 3 or 4 meals. Keep up the great work!!
Tossing those berries was the smartest thing you could have done. Those are bane berries and as few as two can KILL a small child. If you want to learn the plants and foraging I would be happy to teach you. Please NEVER eat ANY plants you do know know 100%. Also I don't remember you foraging that lemon pepper lol.
I respect what you do and like your content , hence my subscription.......but....I think you have a better imagination than that.....24 hrs on what you catch? Boreing....bout as well say you are not going to wear underwear for 24 hours....anyone can go 24 hours without food.....try doing a week on what you catch and bring no seasonings! Tha will be a challenge ! Trout are very easy to catch....I have been fishing for 63 years and am amazed how soft this society has Gotten.....still I like your content...yes I am an old guy....went in to the Colorado Rockies couple years back....had two days water and food....came out ninety days later and didn't want to leave ! Try that challange some day....you will be amazed at what you see and do....saw not another person in those ninety days...just the absolute wonder of nature and what it really takes to survive ! Good luck in your future endeavors....may the trout gods always shine on you!😏😜✊👌👍✌🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 PS. ON THAT STAY I FASTED THE LAST EIGHT DAYS AND HAD NOTHING TO EAT ......JUST WATER....HIKED FIFTEEN MILES OUT ! I DID THAT TO SEE WHAT MY LIMITATION WAS...EIGHT DAYS WITHOUT FOOD SHOWED ME MY LIMITATIONS! WE HAVE A LOT MORE IN US THAN MOST WILL EVER KNOW.....WOULD NOT RECOMMEND WHAT I DID FOR MOST.....YOUR MIND IS YOUR STRONGEST ASSET !😳
The headache comes from your body being reliant on carbs for fuel. About 85% of Americans rely on carbs for their main source of energy whether they realize it or not. It takes around 72 hours for your body to start making keystones which then allow your body to consume fat for energy. People that do fasting or intermittent fasting already have a good amount of keystones built up in their bodies so they don't get a carb crash as their body just starts burning the fat for fuel. I know it's off topic a bit but it's worth explaining to people doing survival videos as brain function is important if your in a actual survival situation.
And one more thing. When your fly fishing with a bobber you want to pull or strip your bobber in to you slowly to give the nymphs movement and you will cover water. Also adjust the bobber to water depths. But if the water is choppy because of the wind you can just let the bobber sit there and let the waves and ripples of the water make the nymphs look like there moving if that makes any sense to you. I do a lot of fly fishing on lakes and these techniques work well and it will step up you lake fly fishing game bro 🤙🏽
As an avid fly guy this is what changed my game of fly fishing was “stripping my line in” different speeds work at different times I’ve caught some stripping nearly as quick as I can and some barely bringing line in at all!
I agree with you on the sunflower seeds.... I love to chew on those! I am pretty sure those berries were baneberries (as several other people have said as well). We have baneberry here in Maine as well. They are highly toxic and can cause cardiac arrest immediately if enough are consumed. Good thing you tossed those bad boys to the curb! Oh, and you are right about dandelions tasting like spinach. At least the dandelions here in Maine taste that way (and I am not a fan of spinach).
Do you like pumpkin seeds? They are better than sunflower seeds for your prostate. Yep, a urologist told me 50 years ago that if I ate pumpkin seeds every day I would never have any prostate problems.
Fun challenge to watch. I think you would have appreciated a dry dropper set up this trip. Dandelions that haven't gone to flowering are not as bitter, also the colder it is the more sugar content they have, making spring my favorite time to make salads out of them.
Hello. Always likes. I watch your video's all the time. Next time say hello to me, because I watch your video's from Kyrgyzstan 😀😂. It's far. My name is nurlan.
Late comment. But I just wanted to share some knowledge. (I just started fly fishing recently too) a few months ago an outfitter told me for every foot of water you want a x3 lead from the fly to the indicator. So if you are in 2 foot of water you want a 6 foot fly to indicator gap. Once I started doing that the fish seemed to be a lot more interested. Thought I would share!! Love your videos man I hope you see this.🤙🏻
Hey man! I've been wanting to to try fly fishing for a long time now and this video has inspired me to buy a fly rod! I was wondering what kind of rod you have or if anyone has reccomendations i'm trying to get a good rod for a decent price!
Seems like you need to sharpen your hooks or something. But it's cool that you don't omit the missed bites while editing, to make yourself look cool. I appreciate that.
Trout fishing any day any where has got to be the most fun any one can do ! Anybody can do it ant any age I guess that's one reason why I like fishing for trout . Now that I'm old and disabled I still love fishing ! Thumbs-up on aa sport where the actual athlete is the fish lol !
Hi is been so long since ur last video and miss it 🤭lovely and happy to see you again 😘 hopefully and fingers crossed 🤞🏽 u going to catch a lot fish 🎣 good luck 😉 x🇬🇧
You're supposed to pull line to set the hook, setting it with the rod is probably why youre missing them. You also want to be quick with it dont give them time bc theyll taste it and spit it.
Awesome video, but with the dandelions, the flower is the good part. Bread the flour and fry it with the fish. They actually hold flavor of the seasoning and everything and are pretty decent. Would be cool for a video.
Nice catch and cook vid! I enjoyed watching your adventure with a fly rod. Your casting is looking sharp. For those rising fish, I've had success replacing the indicator with a big orange popcorn beatle fly and tie your nymph to the bend of the hook on the beatle. This reminds me when my wife and I switched to primarily fly-fishing and trying to commit to saying "indicator" and "rod"... we joked about putting $ in the swear jar every time we said "bobber" or "pole", still happens lol. Looking forward to more videos, keep em coming!
I respect what you did there with the size and limit ratio for the challenge. But in a real life survival scenario that rule book goes out the window haha. Good deal brother!
That little chub you caught in the bend of that little stream looks like what we used to catch in the northeast freshwater. We just called it whitefish but they made a croaking noise out of water and looked like cousins of suckers so im guessing theyre white suckerfish?
Hey dude, just wanted to caution you to not lip trout. I was taught not those are a species we don't lip, I know you ate some of them but just a heads up. No judgement whatsoever, I did it too until I was told otherwise lol. Other than that great content!
The flower is the tastiest and least bitter part of the dandelion! Try to remove all of the green bracts below the flower head, those can be a bit bitter
Dandelions are actually one of the healthiest greens you can eat, some people consider them the best, weird how big pesticide companies want you to get rid of them
