In this video I take you to Shearwater for a long 24 hour winter session! I met up with Chunkster and Christian In search of a winter bite!
As we all know fishing in these cold winter conditions can always be tough and that’s exactly how this session turned out! But as the old cliché has it.. it’s not all about catching fish!
Great company and good memories made, stories told and snacks shared around a warm fire!

Next time this time of the year you want zigs 8ft -10 ft from the lawns about 80 yards out. I've fished the lake for years and never had less than 20 fish on a day session no matter the time of year.

Yes mate! I'm back here on Thursday next week and thats my go to plan...hopefully get on yhe lawns or dam and get zigs only on!

@@ChunksterFishing: Saw Mark Bartlett on the Dam end about 10years ago fishing zigs and sloppy spod mix. He’d had 14 carp I think and more were guaranteed as his bobbins were constantly bleeping. This was mid January by the way. I was only eating my sarnies so had to go pretty quick. I fished it following week and fished all rods on zigs ……never had a f*** ing bite 😂😂😂😂

I didn’t give zigs a real go! Only had one out towards the boat house at 8ft and had a couple of single beeps! I will be getting back on zigs in the next few sessions!

It was indeed a really enjoyable time spent with both of you. And Yes Aaron I am a Fan😉, and only wish I'd asked for a selfie and an autograph 🤔. Suppose I was just star struck 🤣 by your presence 😁. Was great to meet you fella and you certainly are a gentleman. I particularly like the banter between the two of you it's priceless. But great ot see two mates enjoying fishing catch or not. It’s still not producing many if any at the moment. My old man is a bailiff on there, and said all they are getting is bream still at the moment.

Yeah we do on big waters that are packed full of carp mate! To be fair I only spombed over one spot but it then gives you options to fish over a bed or put out a single or a mesh bag! Spodding worked for us last winter at shearwater!
