We hiked up to the source and marveled at the thundering torrents, taking in the raw beauty of the wet season.
Next, we visited the Laos Buffalo Dairy, a unique and sustainable social enterprise that is transforming the local community. The dairy produces delicious buffalo cheese, yogurt, and ice cream, while also providing much-needed nutrition and income for local farmers. This project is making a big difference by offering employment and training opportunities and helping to improve the overall health and well-being of the area.
Hungry after our morning adventure, we stopped for lunch at Bio-Bamboo, a cozy restaurant in Luang Prabang known for its organic, farm-to-table dishes that highlight the best of Lao cuisine. The food was fresh, flavorful, and the perfect fuel for the rest of our day.
As the sun began to set, we took a leisurely stroll through the vibrant Luang Prabang Night Market, located on Sisavangvong Road in the heart of the old town. The market is a treasure trove of local crafts, textiles, souvenirs, and street food, offering a truly immersive cultural experience.
The next morning, after a restful sleep, we started our day with breakfast at the bustling Morning Market. With full stomachs, we walked off the calories by climbing Mount Phousi. The stunning views of the peninsula and the peaceful atmosphere at the stupa made the climb well worth it.
