24 Hours Readathon Vlog || Reading Book Challenge 2018 

I realized it had been a while since I had done a readathon vlog... Should I do these more often? :D

I love doing 24 hour readathons and I love watching what other people read and do during theirs. I try to do one of these at least once a month if possible. I find it helps me with keeping up with all the books that I want to be able to read in a month and it is fun at the same time!

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is easily one of my favourite books ever!! It's so funny and super smart! I think you'll love it! :)

I think the way you had it this time (even though it was kind of by accident) makes the most sense i.e. having number of pages read and then audiobook time seperately. Would love to see more in future if you want to do them. I definitely think you did a great job, especially as you had been ill. Also really love your mug

I definitely felt the same way about I'll Give You the Sun and The Sky is Everywhere! Jandy Nelson definitely grew as a writer between her first book and her second book.

This was super fun! You should definitely do more if you want to (I'll watch them)! And anything you read during the readathon is great and probably more than you would have read if you hadn't done the 24 hour readathon. It seems like there's always so much to do and less hours in the day when you actually start doing it!

3 books is nothing to sneeze at! I am on number ten so far this year and this week have barely read, just been tired and stressed out. The week before I read 4 books in a week period for bout of books. We go in stages and you finished one. I know you said you have trouble with that so good for you! Sapiens is also on my tbr.

I often prefer how many pages someone has read and how many books. However, you should do what is easiest for you. :)

I was on sick-leave these days as well so I also decided to do my own readathon ^^ and I devoured the Lady Sherlock serie by Sherry Thomas. It was the perfect comfort read . I think you would really like these (there are slight hints at romance but it's very subtle) Also, please more vlog! More everything!

First off, awesome sweaters and absolutely love your cactus mug! I really enjoyed this readathon vlog! And I think you've got the right idea for balancing the smaller tbrs with the bigger ones. Personally I'm thinking of adopting this strategy as well, even though I've never done a 24 hour readathon, it still seems more attainable than most other readathons I try my hat at. Ooh, maybe a classic sci-fi marathon with H.G. Wells and Aldous Huxley ^_^

You should try Seanan McGuire's adult series, the October Daye series. The first book is Rosemary and Rue. It took me a couple of books to get into it all the way, but it really gets better as it goes. There's not too much romance and there's a lot of fun Shakesperian influences.

I read All Our Wrong Todays last year and loved it! I wonder how the audiobook would go because I read it as a physical book and it didn’t seem like something that would make a lot of sense to listen to 😊

Why do you pronounce readathon readaTon?

I honestly had a few problems with Sapiens. The first half of the book was interesting, but the second half wasn't history so much as it was the author's (what I felt were somewhat self-indulgent) philosophical musings which weren't really relevant to a history book. I felt like he struggled to stay objective, or even that he was deliberately giving us blinkered view so that we would see things the same way he does. Although the book is targeted at the general public and is supposed to be a very basic introduction to history, I also felt like he talked down to his audience in parts and underestimated our intelligence by simplifying things just a little too much. By the end of the book I was actually kinda mad. I also read some reviews by history professors and other professionals who know a lot about the topics that were covered, and they said that there is straight-up misinformation in the book, which is super problematic considering the author presents everything he says as fact. All in all, I can't recommend it for people who want a genuine, truthful insight into history. If anyone is interested in reading it, I would recommend reading some negative reviews to learn about the book's issues and take everything the author says with a pinch of salt. There are much better history books out there. Sorry this was so negative! I just have a lot of feelings lol
