Been following your journey from way back & I’ve gotta say, this video was probably the best in a long time. I think artists can really learn from feeling like they’re in the room with you like this. Thanks for doing these 🙏
This is really good, Nic. I can see the parallels between what you do and what I do. The independent game can definitely be hectic & busy. I get enjoyment out of building my brand brick by brick, I'm sure you can relate. 👍
As a long time video/photo guy who has been building up the skill to chase my musicality the last 4 or 5 years, I really appreciate this kind of content. I like the sort of mantras you’ve developed to combat perfectionist thinking.
Ay man, just want to say I appreciate you break the game down and taking the time to do this. Literally only heard of you a week ago and since applying what you’ve said, I have 50k TikTok views, 8k streams on Spotify and my followers, subscribers took a substantial jump. Preciate the sauce 🙏🏽💯🔥
That’s crazy. Great job👏🏻 what would you say the biggest changes you made were? I’m averaging about 1500 views a post lately (was only at 200 before) but find it hard to convert any follows.
Your content is really aspiring man! when ever i feel extremely lost i come watch your videos and let my self know that i can do it and everything is possible, thanks a lot for existing 🙏
this episodic thing will likely be the best thing u could make. very casey neistat like. the subjects you jumped between, u start talking abt strategy and planning, then u jumped into lighting and depth of field, all while having us hooked about "the right song" concept, this is all simultaneously floating in ur head, and no one sought the answers but you. something that ppl dont see often, if at all. the more ppl see u doing that, the more it'll sink in as a normal & attainable reality, and less preachy like most artist strategy content. this is what an artist business commonly has to look like now, to give the artist their best chance at success. thank u for making this, i hope inspiration drives u to continue making these! hppy holidays :)
OMG! Thank you so much for addressing that comment! I’ve been getting so bogged down by everyone saying you need to post 3 times a day 7 days a week. I really love and appreciate your take on that. Thanks for sharing.
Honestly Nic is my biggest inspiration. He made it happen without a high up marketing executive father like Russ had and showed us that it was possible to make it completely independently and he does not gate keep 🙏
The only dude that's really laying it out how it is. Appreciate your knowledge and how much you give back to the community. Been learning a lot from your bro. Thank You. 🙌💯
Been following you for a moment, just made it to 15k monthly listeners, and now introducing the Tik-Tok content. I wish to quit my job in the next year.@@frdiforartists
Loved getting a closer look into your TikTok content creation process. For me it’s the most overwhelming part sometimes, not always the idea but actually getting up and film it. Please do this a series ✨ Thanks for all the knowledge
This kind of content is my favorite so far! I’ve watched your NDPDNT podcast, and the Frdi show but these laid back vids where you’re just talkin’ from the heart and sharing your thoughts/advice and experiences as an Artist are GOLD. Thank you for making the effort to be consistent, it’s honestly feeling like something to look forward to. 😊
I'm in the process of starting this journey (I actually did years ago but never felt the right motivation). These past years post covid I've been producting shitloads of tracks. Now it's time to release it to the world. Thanks for this very valuable information.
Thank you Nic! I know I have made good music as people resonate with it. I’ve done nothing to promote my music, yet I have nearly 500 followers on YT. I’ve been putting off explaining why I wrote each song for content (which I know I need to do) because it means I need to go back to the experiences 😫. It’s all about mindset and I need to work on that. You have a new subscriber ❤
Love it!! Really inspiring and reassuring... I've been onthe "grind" for almost 10 years, and the days are falling in to place. 80% business / 20% music. Just got to keep it up and be consistant! Much love from Hawaii!🤙
Just starting an independent artist career and I’ve learned so much from your content. I want to say thank you and that I would definitely keep watching these ‘day in the life’ videos, very helpful!
Man super dope fam appreciate you taking the time to share the inner workings of your daily process it means alot I have never seen anybody doing what your doing I believe what your sharing is so needed most people wont share the game and im inspired by the the info I just want to take care of my family doing what I love to do so im taking your advice and changing up everything im doing
Hey Nic, thank you so much for starting this channel. Your tips and tools have been a God send for where I’m currently at with my content. You got a heart of gold my friend and your hard work does not go unnoticed! Peace be with you Brother
Quality of this content is so much worth, these days people brain wash upcoming artist. And @Nic on the other hand is helping musicians by telling what it takes to be there after achieving his goals🙆🙆🙆🙆🙆
I think it’d be cool to have a checklist of what would constitute “good” content when you make your course. I’d like to help you with making that course as well.
This video was full of value. Follow you has legit changed my career. Eventhough I've watched every single video here and on the NDPNDNT podcast the book is what changed everything for me.
Again thank you so much for this! I am in a metal band and we are going to be mirroring these concepts. We want to start doing benefit concerts, not really worried about plays but just focusing on simple shorts and our catalog is so simple that I completely overlooked it. Also, bands in my genre spend way too much on mixing/mastering and artwork. Over the last three years I have focused on mixing everything myself, so we can focus our revenue in investing into our own sound system and such. I really appreciate the advise, it's helped me focus on the important things like just simply writing music. Thank you Nic!
This was FIRE Nic, thank you for opening up your day to us. For what it's worth, I'd binge these "day in the life" kind of videos man. It was super cool to see how you move from one thing to the next and just adapt to stay productive. Much love and Merry Christmas!
i’m starting my music and content creating journey in the new year! you have no idea how valuable and insightful this really is. Really appreciate the work and keep it up‼️
This was an awesome vid! Thanks so much man. Book was amazing! I love your commentary during the audio book lol 😂 I’d love to see a closer look at how you shoot tiktok performance videos. Specifically more of the editing side and how you listen to the song while you perform for the camera. Thanks Nic! Appreciate you!
It’s dope to see that when you’re working you’re all the way locked in! Recording a video while you’re waiting for your second call was amazing time optimization🔥🔥
love this stuff, for real, i like the day in the life stuff, would love to see more of your creative process where it comes to music, like a day in the life of writing a song. that would be fireeeeee
I love you bro, I've been making music for a while now. you gave me a different perspective on how to market, i spent money on fb ads and got a song to 500k but your way is the wave, its definitely not easy but it'll create and retain long-time fans.
