480 years ago, Inca peasants escaping from the Spanish invaders abandoned Cusco and settled in the heights of the Andes. At a height of 4500 meters (13500 ft) above sea level, they survived by cultivating 2500 different types of potatoes. Today, I am on my way to visit the mountainous region of Peru to see the lives of these people who still speak the Quechua language and continue their ancestral way of living.
