In this vlog we share what 24 hours with newborn twins looks like! We understand that having a routine isn't the right choice for everyone, but for us with newborn twins keeping both babies on a similar schedule means that we can still get a little bit of rest while the babies rest (which is so important, especially when recovering from a c-section!).

Routines are key, both with newborns and later. Children crave routines and we are better parents because we have a chance to keep our heads above the water🙏🏼

Greetings from Finland and all the best 4u. I had twin boys 27 years ago, the first 6 months were quite a job. We didn’t change them during the night, if they did only pee. Me and my huspand slept in different bedrooms with one baby each, it worked well for us. But the routines are really important, what ever you choose. And accept every help what’s given.

Had my twins the day after you…they are my 5th and 6th children…twins are a game changer and I’m attempting to establish a routine which is something I didn’t care for in the past. I totally get it now especially given that my other children are also in need of me. Nonetheless, my only suggestion (took me a while to learn this trick)…when waking to feed, first change then feed because they tend to fall asleep mid feeding and I hate to wake them during a diaper change when the cold air hits them. The best is they love to wreck clean diapers so sometimes you end up changing a second diaper anyhow. Lastly, I cleaned my kitchen after midnight and I’ve been up since 4:11 am. 🥴🥴

You both are super amazing. I had 1 baby 11 months ago and that was hard enough, can’t imagine having two. Your both an amazing team and good job to Dave for being so super helpful. Makes the world of difference. Things do get better. Do you have people that can come help, clean and do your washing etc ?

You can always place your pump parts and lady bugs in the fridge! Wash every other use.

Looks like you are doing really well ! As a professional nanny in USA. WHO specializes in twins only! This is great working together & having a routine...the 1st 6months- one year is the hardest ...try to get naps as much as you can! Postpartum depression is real from sleep deprive. My heart goes out to you! My twins are 25...21 ...16 yes 3 sets & I keep in close. All boy & girl set Loved every minute ! !

I sometimes wonder how I ever got through raising my twins without an app back when they were babies. I was a stay at home mom and most of their care was on my shoulders because my hubby was the bread winner. I would have loved having an app instead of paperwork on the fridge lol!! Great teamwork ❤️

Pump parts can be put in the fridge for 24 hrs to reduce cleaning times x

Where is your support crew? Where are the grannys? To do the washing, cleaning, cooking etc. You need help! I can see your a good team and it wont always be this repetitive and routine. But look after yourselves, you can only go without sleep for a certain time. Ele you should be in bed, having the babies changed and brought to you. Bring on the grannys, the aunties, the friends!

Not everyone has that luxury. I had a singleton aged 2 and had twins and we had no help at all. My mum had passed away and my mil lived 6 hrs away

Babies should feed on demand not really to be woken up to feed.

I’m guessing you don’t have newborn twins… trust me, it’s a whole different ball game. Imagine if I was up 24/7 breastfeeding feeding one, then breastfeeding the next, while also recovering from major surgery (c-section). How would I be able to care for them? I’d run out of steam so quickly. As it was I was already responding to their cluster feeding demands as best I could. Definitely with twins a schedule is a must. Anyone who says otherwise has never experienced twins themselves!
