Was in military 22 years. Mole skin: Cut a hole size of blister and place around it. Take a second layer, no hole and place on top of base layer. Wrap medical tape on foot around the mole skin, put sock back on. Trust me, better than placing mole skin on blister. Just FYI

One thing so simple that no one ever thinks of is paper, pencils and permanent markers (sharpies).
@viridian4573
@viridian4573 5 дней назад
The Staedtler Lumocolor Permanent marker is a better choice than Sharpie. Recommend the Duo version, has a medium tip on one end and a fine tip on the other. They last longer, write on more stuff, are more permanent and won't fade with sun exposure. If you get it on your skin you're going to be wearing it for awhile. The guys at work call them "never come off until you're dead or maybe even longer" markers.

This was the BEST video, ANY prepping channel has made, IN A LONG LONG TIME. BEFORE this video, EVERY video for A LONG TIME, has been a rerun, basically/every prepping item list video, I've watched, for PROBABLY AT LEAST the last 2 years, included items that I already owned, this video actually had a few items I didn't already own, listed in it, we NEED more videos like this. There was actually 9 items listed in this video, that I didn't have, two I planned on getting, and 7 I now plan on getting.

Those of us who live in very rural areas are always prepared. This isn't 'prepping'; it's old fashioned, self sufficient country life. I remember the Ice Storm of 1998 where people were iced in without power for weeks; THAT'S the kind of thing I prep for. I have a large garden every year and months of food preserved from the garden, a whole house generator that runs on natural gas (probably the last power source to fail), plus a solar power station in our camper, our own well and a stream on the property. A wood stove and wood supply (Michigan in the winter in a tent?). Weaponry of course. I have no intention of 'bugging out'; I live in the kind of area 'preppers' would flee to.

They are also EXTREMELY good for wounds, I always keep some in my first first kit, and for lighting a fire....along with a small tub of petroleum jelly, as far as I'm concerned it's pretty much the best for starting a fire.
@Michelle-ro8dk
@Michelle-ro8dk 20 дней назад
I also strongly suggest all kinds of feminine products, not just in case of a surprise accident. Cotton inside of Tampax, is basically rolled up gauze, that can be used as for medical moments, cuts, scrapes, padding to protect a wound. Sanatary pads, doesn't matter what brand, however, try to get the house hicker pads and use them as pressure bandages. Men may not want to have them face up against their foreheads or ears, however, leave the sticker on, and wrap the wound /cut appropriately. I was a nursing student 30+ years ago in Los Angeles, CA., and when it came around for our first aid training and do a show and tell for our emergency bags, teachers and classmates were impressed with the innovative and suggested ideas that I had put together. Thank you for your chanel and helping other people out. God bless. M

Funny how many people think that when trouble comes they are going to start hiking and living off the land. Y'all ain't got a clue what's coming, and y'all ain't going to live off the land.

YES! I have always laughed at the "Bug Outers". Where exactly are you bugging out to? Someone else's land? You don't think they will be violently defending what's their and know every inch of their property? Yes, there is public land...and how many other people will you be vying to contend with with no shelter or food except what you carried in? In a city? I understand...but you have better purchased your own land to bug out to. For what it's worth.
@76hotdog
@76hotdog 13 дней назад
When the non prepper's come for you, you will wish you had bugged out. And it just won't be once but repeatedly. As the feral beasts they will become, if they can't overcome you they will burn you out and hope to find a few supplies the fire did not destroy. Getting something is better than giving up and getting nothing. Many cities will not have enough water to supply their populace and you will need more than you can store up. So what will you do when you don't have any water? Bug out or die of thirst. I agree that planning on bugging out with out a well laid out plan, caches, etc. is a as much as a fools errand, as bugging in, in a city. You will not survive living only off the land, which is where the caches come in.
@WORDversesWORLD
@WORDversesWORLD 13 дней назад
@@76hotdog We create such scenarios as the one you describe, usually from movies we have seen. Red Dawn for instance is an oldie but goodie, but the reality of such an event happening in today's modern world is simply fantasy. And all we have to do is look to the event taking place in the Middle East. Or take Joplin Mo getting leveled in 2011. Guarantee Joplin was full of folks prepared for many things including a tornado and in one storm it can all be swept away. We can never predict our future, especially the future to come that will be unlike any change we have seen. And it will be done willingly!

@@WORDversesWORLD Only time will tell. But there are 2 types of prepping: for Natural disasters or SHTF, (which includes wars). Somewhere in Europe a war breaks out about every 60 years or less. Some turn into major conflicts like WW1 and WW2. In many other places in the world, this is a fairly common occurrence. Look at Syria, Ukraine, Gaza, etc. Thinking it will never happen here is just sticking your head in the sand. Russia has been threatening to Nuke NATO countries( including the US), which would create an SHTF scenario, in the nuked areas. Time to get Real, the threat of SHTF exists.

Cheek filter respirators such as the M17 gas mask aren't recommended. You can't change the filter while you're wearing the mask and the filters don't last as long. If you're going to buy a milsurp respirator, I recommend the M40 or the MCU-2/P. They are inexpensive compared to the latest in respirator technology but still are modern enough to get the job done. Cheek filter masks aren't really produced anymore and the filters aren't either. The M40 uses 40mm filters that are still being made to this day

Squeezing a lever is much easier than a crank handle which requires two hands, however most of the squeeze lights on the market are fake. Meaning the squeeze lever does nothing to generate power and the light actually runs off several non-rechargeable button cell batteries. Once those batteries run out the light is dead. If you want a real squeeze generator light get the Fenix E-Star. You can even remove the rechargeable NiMH AA battery on the E-Star and only charge the built-in capacitor. If I remember correctly the E-Star will also accept an alkaline AA battery, just can't recharge it.

Some Gorilla Tape to supplement duct tape is also a good addition. 5 min epoxy for repairs, and dont foget the little things, like a leather sewing kit, bag of various rubber bands, ect.

sewer plugs are a must have for houses built in the 60s that have storm drains that overflow into the sanitary in exceptionally heavy rainfall. houses with basements are the first to get indoor pools. use the plug to isolate your house from the sanitary line. have a couple that fit your toilets and sinks that are below ground level. if you cant get a sewer plug, trade name is 'test plugs', use a deflated dodgeball. have a hose and method to inflate whatever plug type you choose. it's advisable to install the plug as close to the street connection so you'll be able to use your toilets for emergencies.

Cheap trade goods are a good idea to pack and most are nearly weightless. Even if you don't personally indulge, airline flight alcohol bottles, a couple of packs of smokes, batteries, single serving soaps and shampoo sourced from hotels, tampons... Think about what other people might need and chances are the barter system can work in your favor. Most everyone will have some of their bases covered but there will always be people without. Hell. There are people without right now. Even something as mundane as a couple of extra Life Straws can wind up making you a deal for something you might really need or lack initially.

I always go a little crazy on small but necessary items . I just gotten 10 temporary filling kits . I found a deal but they are only $30 on Amazon. Lemon extract is also a great thing to have. It will help kill the nerve . Last thing we all know painkillers are highly illegal to possess even in a proper situation . Kratom is a great alternative and legal. It all natural and relatively cheap and has the same exact effects as a opiate

Have a plumber install a back flow protector on your sewage line. It is not that expensive and if you buy the part two guys can do the job DYI in a couple hours. Hardest part is digging up the pipe. You do not need a permit since you are within your property lines. Imagine swimming in shit inside your house because you would not buy a 300$ part.

No, didn't know about the sewer blocker, plumbing is a weak knowledge point for me but I did get a huge book on the subject. The small Survival Guide, it is part of a series of small books called Collins Gems, they do sell them in the US, there's an American publisher listed at the front of the books. There are books on foraging, knot tying, trees, mushrooms, coastal plants, knots, even other non prepper activities like card games, the stars, birds, languages. I learned a lot of my early plant/mushroom identification from these books because you will take it with you hiking, whatever. You have them for if the internet goes down and they are fairly inexpensive.

I plan on bugging in but I also realize that the circumstances may change and bugging in is no longer an option. I only have 8 out of the 25 items you suggested. I will reconsider some items and decide what to supplement my stockpile.
