Does anyone live in a caravan on a campsite? We do! Today I will share 5 facts about living on a caravanning site or a campsite and each of them has two sides and two aspects and could be either a blessing or a curse, it all depends on your perception. The first fact of permanent living on campsite is that you don't live on your own land and even on your private pitch you still have to respect the site rules and wishes of the owners. You cannot do as you please, and you are a tenant and not a landlord. So, yes, you have to ask for permission to do stuff sometimes, but on the other hand you are not responsible for maintaining the site, paying bills and taxes, for example costs of emptying a septic tax or pay business rates. Each site has different customs and culture and rules and it is a microcosms shaped by the owners. There are quite a few rules to respect on the site where I live, but thanks to them the site is peaceful and wildlife is protected, which is really important for me. The other thing is that you share site facilities on site with others. So if you cannot stand sharing a bathroom, washing machines and even books with other campers living in caravan or a camping trailer or a grand rv, in longer term may be a bit challenging. Of course in a modern rv living you will have all these facilities in your motorhome or a camping trailer, but I choose to use shared facilities for convenience. What about you? Would you share or maybe not? The upside of sharing the facilities is that it is not you who cleans and maintains them. For me it is a fact of rv life whether static or on tour. On our rv campsite, there are clothes dryer, an iron and even an ironing board. We also have an onsite bar with drinks on tap and a big pool table and even a book swap. Our camping is situated in a beautiful area, and I couldn't afford living here in any other way. This part of Devon is ideal for caravanning uk, and many people choose to have a seasonal, all year long pitch on site. That means that we have neighbours and we know them well. It is lovely, however some people staying on site are not that great. Many people come camping stressed and exhausted after a long drive and sometimes cause a bit of trouble, make too much noise or leave litter on our beautiful grass. However caravanning brings the best out of people too, and most of campers are super friendly and smile and greet me a few times a day. You may choose to have a caravan either for touring or keep on a permanent pitch to enjoy being immersed in nature, like we are. Nature on your doorstep is generally a blessing, but there are some downsides, as rodents and bugs like to move into our awning or a caravan sometimes. Some of you may have seen videos from winter showing how we battled with storms and even had to sleep in a pub a few times. So nature can be brutal, but on the other hand gives us space to relax and enjoy exercise and good times. I hope you enjoy my full time caravan tips, to me caravanning full time has both pros and cons, but in a final balance I see much more pros. To be honest I cannot imagine returning to a 'normal' life outside. Pros and cons, also touch your social and family life as when you lead a full time van life, often or often you are away from you family and friends and maybe a hometown or maybe a home country. Other downside of my caravan life in a travel trailer, we live about two hours drive from our home and family and friends and sometimes it does make me a bit homesick, even though my home now is our camping trailer. When you live in a caravan full time you may experience it. You may enjoy being away from your family for some time, but sooner or later you will miss them So my tip would be do not move too far away, built new contacts and make new friends, but do not neglect old contacts. We get on with everyone on site here, both the site owners and staff as everyone is in the same boat really, away from home. So things I discussed will be experience by everyone who does full time travel whether in a campervan or a caravan. Perhaps it will give you some insights into how to caravan full time in a travel trailer to enjoy your travel trailer living. We love caravaning and our tiny house, and embrace living in a van. Is is alternative lifestyle? and where is Helevetia anyway? Thank you for watching and bye for now from your digital nomad, see you in the next video.

I just started to live in a caravan here in Denmark. The first few weeks were challenging but I adapted to it very fast.,I love the fact I have nobody the other side of the wall. It’s like I have my own house. I manage costs for gas, electricity and water. Not a company. And I love that idea. It feels like freedom. 🥰 No utility bills I just change my gas tank whenever I need it and use main power at the camping side I pay for monthly for the owner. Feels fantastic

Hi, and sorry for taking so long to reply! Thank you for reaching out to us ;-) How lovely. I am fascinated with Denmark and everything Danish, loved The little book of Hygge, by Mike Wiking. Living in a caravan, taking life slowly, being close to nature, having time and energy for experiencing life - that's all Hygge, would you agree? Denmark is on our list of countries to visit and only recently I learnt that you can access it by land from Germany :D :D :D so it's perfect for coming in a motorhome or with a caravan. I agree with you that owning a caravan is like owning a house, it is a home ;-) And it is fab that you can have home and roof over your head for relatively small money. What was the biggest challenge for you when you started this lifestyle? And where about in Denmark are you? Love, Kat.

What's it like during winter in the caravan? Do you find it is easy to keep warm? I'd imagine it doesn't take long to heat a small space such as a caravan but I don't know how well insulated they are. I love your setup BTW thanks for uploading 🙂

Hi Nick, nice to hear from you :-) Well, since we started our life on wheels, back in 2018, we always spent winters away, mostly in Spain. This year we will proably stay in the UK, so we will find out in a few months and make a video! It was one of the reasons for upgrading the caravan, the one we have now will be so much better during winter than the old one.

@@FreedomSeekers-FS what i was trying to say was how do you go around rentig a static caravan long term like whom do we get in touch with
@FreedomSeekers-FS
@FreedomSeekers-FS Год назад
If you're looking to rent a static caravan for the long term, there are a few options you can explore: - Holiday parks or caravan sites: Many holiday parks and caravan sites offer static caravans for long-term rental. You can search for holiday parks in the area you're interested in and contact them to inquire about availability and rates. - Private owners: You can also search for static caravans for rent by private owners. Websites like Airbnb, HomeAway, and Vrbo have listings for static caravans that are available for long-term rental. You can also try searching on local classifieds websites or in the local newspapers. - Estate agents: Some estate agents may also have static caravans available for long-term rental. You can search for estate agents in the area you're interested in and contact them to inquire about available properties. When you find a potential static caravan to rent, it's important to ask about the terms and conditions of the rental, including the length of the rental agreement, the rental price, any security deposit required, and any rules or regulations you'll need to follow while living in the caravan. It's also a good idea to visit the caravan in person to ensure it meets your needs and expectations.
