For its price point & affordability, it's definitely worth considering if the budget can't stretch to more pricier multimeters. Cool video, Peter!. Could you also please cover in upcoming videos, budget conscious or more affordable RF test gear for those of us who would love to have such a setup but can't afford a beautiful (but super expensive!) RF test set like you have
Hello Peter, interesting coincidence that I bought this just 3 days before your video. I believe the brand Kaiweets belongs to Amazon but the same DMM is sold as Habotest HT116 in the Chinese market, which may be the original manufacturer's brand. The dual display caught my attention but unfortunately it doesn't work as I hoped it would (i.e. showing AC components on a DC signal) Nevertheless, it is very good for the price and thin enough to fit in a jacket pocket. I like it so far.
Just being able to turn off "Auto Power OFF" is worth a lot. In my opinion, all multimeter manufacturers have not understood this. When I measure I don't want the meter to switch itself off during a measurement just because a time has expired. And then also with high-pitched 5 tones ..... terrible. Thank you Peter for the nice review👍👍👍
I just orderd this meter a few days ago just because you can over ride auto power off my meter I use now will beep and scare the crap out of me then shuts down while you are using it
It's a shame these aren't equal; their QC must not be all that great. I've tried two of these, the first was acceptable to about 5 volts DC, and after that, it fell under its .5% accuracy and got worse as the voltage rose; by 30 volts the KM601 was reading 27.89 volts, a complete 7% off, my Fluke117 was spot on as expected. The second one didn't read Hz at all; never bothered with a third unit; however, the company was easy to deal with, and of course, Amazon returns are always simple.
well don't forget the price and ask yourself how often you need the barograph? If I need a barograph I use an analogue MM even with my more expensive meters...
The bar graph on most of these low-end meters is nothing more than a gimmick; it's been my experience that they're slower than the digital readout itself.
Guess for the money it might be okay for the beginner starting out. As an electrician that auto function feature would piss me right off and also no mention of a cat rating lol
Nice new meter... I was wondering if you read my message on trouble shooting a UPC BORD ON A RCI-2950 10m/12 mobile radio... Not sure if you have a more direct email address to forward details of my issue with the board radio comes on just don't have full functions on settings.... Would you be able to help me with this issue. Thanks ted KD2ARD.....
No micro Amp scale. Dave won't like it. Think I prefer my rotary switches but if it automatically switches to amps when connected in Series that could prevent some embarrassing events.
Gordon, what do you expect for 50Bucks and even it would automatically switch to Amps (what never would happen btw) there is still the need to swap over the test lead...
Hi Karl, well I really think this is a good meter for spot testing with extended capabilities. Of course you can't compare it with a 10 times more expensive device but for normal ham radio activities it is excellent.
The less expensive monochrome version of this meter is even worse for viewing angle. The limited viewing angle is the worse part of an otherwise nice meter.👍
In my view this exaggerated enthusiasm in the opening looks a bit weird. Perhaps it takes more artistic talent or something. I would suggest to stay more natural.
