Alternative Assessment Benefit Complex Concept Conclusion Conduct Consistent Context Coordination Environment Estimate Factor Function Identified Impact Indicate Investment Major Method Occur Potential Primary Range Significant I don't see why these need to be learned. Anybody with a high school level reading comprehension should know these, let alone an academic environment. But still a great video for those that need to know these. Keep up the good work.
Jean-Francois Simard I think this video is targeted at non native speakers who haven't been exposed to a lot of academic writing. I am currently preparing for the IELTS Academic and while I knew most of the words this video helped me use them in context appropriately:)
Wow! I really liked this video just for the fact of how much your channel has grown, the way you connect with your followers now and how interactive is. This is a before and an after. I really love your videos and try to put into practice all I learn from you. Thank you so much! Blesses! 👏👏❤🙇♂️
Over consumption in the current environment was identified as a factor by leading geologists who indicated that shortfall of oil was estimated to occur potentially as early as 2030 if no coordinating efforts were taken between the major players to mitigate the impact.
Great! Is there a Part 2? I like this format that helps students brush up on their TOEFL vocabulary. You could also make shorter videos that focus on a single word or a single word family, by giving more context on how the words are used in academic writing.
As a person whos getting prepared for ielts,it is definitely applicable! These common words that you showed us here is what I need to learn for now👍Thank you:)
I'm from Brazil , I undestand everything you say. Congratulations, there's a galaxy of english teatchers in RU-vid, but you are at Top Ten Ranking. Wish I had found your channel before
Thank You, I appreciate your fruitful effort, I've already known all of these vocabularies. Keep on conducting such helpful videos, thank you very much again.
I have realized that 💯 percent of These academicwords comes of latin or Grecian! This will help me a lot because I'm is a Brazilian and I understand and can remember of these! Well done teacher! 😘
Thank you again I really need to learn more professional words to expand my Academic vocabulary in my work field. I like what you said, Practice ..Practice 👏
Thanks so much for your channel. I found you accidentally but you’re already my top favorite instructor. There are a few differences between your channels and others. First of all you’re so to the point and jump right to the topic. You don’t waste any time in the beginning of each video with touchy feely conversations, like many instructors do. Also, in most of the other channels for advance students, you find a mix of intermediate even some basics in the videos. So, for an advanced student, it’s a little waste of time and If you’re not patient enough, you get bored to the point that you get distracted or close the video. On top of teaching the most useful vocabulary and phrases, summarizing your lessons as you’ve done below, for a busy person like me, is absolutely handy and helpful. When there’s no summary, I have to take notes, but most of the times I listen to English lessons while I’m driving or working. So this is another reason I will be loyal to your channel. And finally, I regret I didn’t find you sooner. I wasted a lot of time shopping in other places, but hopefully I’ll catch up soon. Keep up the excellent work 👍
Hi Wes ! First time I’ve watched an old video from you, it’s nice to see the difference between now and then. Make no mistakes, you were good on that one too, the difference is simply you seem more comfortable and confident today then one year ago, we’re all getting better with time and passion in what we do. Let’s talk about the content, as a French native speaker, I can see how much vocabulary similarities we have in those 2 languages. 22 out of 25 are almost the same. Most of the time it’s the same spelling, same meaning and a little difference in the prononciation for sure. Keep it up, you’re helping people to communicate all around the world.
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoy some of our older lessons as well. But we'll keep striving to get better and find ways to improve our lessons. I appreciate your commenting & sharing with us. 😃👍
Thanks so much for commenting...and for subscribing. 👍 I'm glad you found the lesson useful. We'll do more academic vocabulary lesson in the future. Have a great day! 🎉
your pronunciation is awesome and your sentences are superb. Also we understand the meaning of the word so please we need extra advanced word thank you very much!
Thanks so much for your comment. I'm glad you found the lesson useful. In the future, we'll make more lessons about academic words. Have a great day! 😃👍
Thanks Saeed! We appreciate your comment. That's a good idea about teaching corresponding phrasal verbs. We're plan to put out more phrasal verb lessons in the future. We know they can be pretty tricky. Have a great week! 😀
You make my day!💯👍🏻 already been here. Repetition is the mother of successful studying!!!!! His heart beating fast , he won the race. Absolute phrase . I know now. My talent has come back..My eyes wide shut , I still saw nothing in the pitch dark night.
I really liked this class. It is so useful for me because I am teacher, and I need to read and write using academic words. Could you prepare a new class on that topic?
I know all of them, but you explain them in a splendid way. Words is not the best part, your video stands out is because you explain everything in details even the syllables...I graduated from University long time ago, yet I enjoy watching your videos.
The words list presented in this video is fantastic for improving the technical English needed in certain jobs, not to mention the achieved vocabulary extension. Thank you very much from Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Well, I think that academic vocabulary is not that difficult for those who speak any of the Romance Languages (Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, etc.), for almost all of these words come from Latin, so they are relatively easy to be understood by Romance languages native speakers. Maybe the meaning might vary a little bit but in general they keep their original sense. Thank you for this video, because it helps us to realize that all these words actually do exist in English, and we can learn them easily.
Learning English will be significant in helping me improve my communication. The areas I identified was pretty amazing. There are many functions with in the content.
Hey, Wes. The more I watch your videos the more intrigued I become about you. What’s your full name? How tall are you? Where were you born? Where do you live? I’ve come to the conclusion that you are brilliant. How much time do you spend preparing your English lessons?
Very SIGNIFICANT words , easier to understand in CONTEXT , I' m consistent watching your lessons. Great BENEFIT for all the students. The best INVESTMENT in life is to watch your channel. Thanks for your METHOD to teach English.
That reminds me of something a character in one of the Harry Potter books said. He said "A person couldn't feel all those things at the same time; they'd explode." She replied, "Not all of us have the emotional range of a teaspoon."
Investing in a good scientific calculator that provides a good range of functions is of primary importance to help you get through a major examination.
Thanks so much Babbu! We appreciate your comment and hope you found the lesson useful. We'll make more academic vocabulary videos in the future. 😃 If you're interested in other lessons to build your vocabulary. We have a set of lessons that go over useful synonyms for common words & emotions: 👍 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nt80f7bE3RI.html
That's a good question. When it comes to exams like the IELTS, reading becomes a matter of comprehension and speed. We'll do more about this in the future. But we do have a lesson on how to become a faster reader: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SPWFQOOybiU.html 📚
I'm so grateful that I found this terribly useful video! I learned a lot and it increases my vocabulary. Thanks so much, Sir! You really did a great job! Kudos! ✨❤️
If the presenter wants to define "academic English words," then he missed on the definition of CONCEPT. In academia a concept is "a general idea or notion that corresponds to some class of entities and that consists of the characteristic or essential features of the class."
one of my favorite channels is internative english cuz of u guys i cold perceive a lot of english woords that i came across b4 but count it understnd them till now keep nup the good work u r awesome
People subscribed to a Russian woman by the name of linguamarina (her video of "50 common English phrases" have 1M views). I am sorry to say that she has tons of mistakes in all of the facets, but people love her despite the fact that she made a whole mess. This guy is way much better than that Russian lady. Enough said, I don't want to post everything here. Watch for a few minutes and you guys will know what I mean. People asks her to teach them more idiom in order to get higher scores in TOFEL. Don't they know that TOFEL doesn't test idiom at all?
I've given thumbs up on a lot of videos and when I go back to them a few minutes later the thumbs up is gone. I believe RU-vid has some flaws in this area.
😆 You guessed correctly. I think the only real difference is with "estimate" you're always talking about numbers. If I didn't mention that in the lesson, I probably should have. Thanks for these comments because it gives us better ideas on how to improve future lessons by talking about close synonyms and potential differences in usage. 👍
!I appreciate your answer and esteem your work, in general - a lot less YT's system which notifies me only today (one month later) about your response!
I concluded my viewing at the word conclusion, because my assessment of this presentation deemed it to be of a far too elementary nature to be of benefit. This was a fitting reason to seek an alternative video, that I may inculcate a more advanced vocabulary. This segment can be described by an antonym of complex, though conceptually it has the possibility of advancing fifth graders. In conclusion, I'm off to see the wizard. ☺
