High, steep, spectacular. The Karwendel cable car in Mittenwald can hardly be better described in three words, as it has to reach up to the western Karwendelspitze spectacularly over a steep line at dizzying heights. After more than 10 years of construction by shaky investors, the ropeway can start operating in 1968. However, tourism has existed in the Isar valley far earlier.
