+David Evans. Nihilism is a philosophical doctrine that suggests the lack of belief in one or more reputedly meaningful aspects of life. Most commonly, nihilism is presented in the form of existential nihilism, which argues that life is without objective meaning, purpose, or intrinsic value. Moral nihilists assert that morality does not inherently exist, and that any established moral values are abstractly contrived. Nihilism can also take epistemological, ontological, or metaphysical forms, meaning respectively that, in some aspect, knowledge is not possible, or that reality does not actually exist.
robert daniel I only agree with the lack of objective morals aspect. The most reasonable standard to base morals on would be each other's best interest, based off of observations of reality. But that does not mean that the universe has some sort of absolute moral code, we create morality. Either as an aid to our own survival, or more destructively as a tool to control the masses
Joker was the hero in this movie. He took out the mob, cleaned up the streets, destroyed the corrupt police department, and forced the city to deal with its own cancer rather than hoping Batman would do it.
+ArshikaTowers i said it once on another video of the joker in the dark knight. the same shit you re saying. and what if he saw it was in real life like this? is that why they killed him? they covered this murdering of ledger so well.
I like how Joker says "In their last moments, people show you who they really are." Then, when Batman throws him off that building and he thinks he's gonna die, what does he do? Laughs. He laughs. See where I'm goin with this?
LMAO... I was thinkin the same thing... No. I don't understand. He's the joker. Shiva in mythology. The God of Chaos and Destruction. I liken Ledger's version of The Joker to this.... I guess a laugh upon facing death, to me, would mean that The Batman was lacking in knowledge The Joker(Shiva) had and he didn't....
I'd have to agree with you there since he stood in front of the bat bike begging the bat to run em down. How deceptive and treacherous Satan is, indeed only if you allow him that authority over you.
This role would have made Heath Ledger a bonafide star I don't even believe dark knight rises would have been the last Batman movie if Heath Ledger was still alive

JD21 To clarify, Mark Hamill has never done just a voice. When recording, he becomes the Joker in every regard. He looks absolutely crazy. He gets into character more so than live action jokers and it shows in his work. Not to discredit Ledger at all though. In my opinion, Ledger did an *amazing* character, but Hamill does a better Joker. He truly captures what the Joker is all about.
willster191 but he has still never acted as the joker on screen, I do understand what you mean, but we have nothing to go by if he's never done a live performance
The pencil was very risky, the joker knew that that guy would come up to him, otherwise the whole thing would not have worked. He might not look like a guy with a plan, but he definitely is one.
nienke huijbens yeah but you have to find the right balance between realistic and cool to make it really entertaining to watch, i don't like scenes in other superhero movies that are complete bullshit but they "look cool"
XD his second best moment. The first best is his quote about batman being too self righteous to kill him and himself enjoying batman too much to kill him
What I really love about Joker as a character is that it's not his fists that he fights with, it's his mind. He does not need anything to be a threat because he knows everything about his enemy but most importantly its weaknesses and he turns those against them. Such a perfectly-designed, unique character. Favourite 4ever.
Everything he says seems like its improvised. It feels like he isn't even reading a script which makes the whole performance feel real and natural, it's amazing!
I know man, ever since Leto tried his hand I've had Ledger on the brain and no matter how many times I watch footage of him it never ever gets old. He's just the best.
Do you want to know why I use a knife???? Guns are too quick. You can't savor all of the little emotions.... U C , in their last moments people show you who they really are. So, in a way, I knew your friends better than you ever did.... Would you like to know which of them were cowards? ... Totally gives me a raging clue.
You missed the quote. "This is what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object. You truly are incorruptible. You won't kill me out of some misplaced sense of self righteousness and I won't kill you because you're just too much fun. I think you and I are destined to do this forever."
"Look what i did to your city with a couple of bullets and a few drums of gas" That proves how genius Christopher Nolan is and how The Joker made the people panic Heath was the best Joker He'll be always alive in our hearts 😫😫 #LegendsNeverDie
My favorite part of the Dark Knight was when one of the mob bosses asks the Joker if he really believed that he could just walk in and threaten them, and the Joker just quietly says "yeah" underneath the rest of the guy's monologue. That part always makes me laugh.
It's like he is saying - "the world deserves a better class of villains.. and I gave it to them." He really is the best. No one can replace Ledger. He will always be remembered.
One of the best quotes in any movie ever at 0:40 .. "Do I really look like a guy with a plan? You know what I am? I'm a dog chasing cars. I wouldn't know what to do with one if I cough it! You know, I just "do things". :)
"Hiiii, uhhhh see I don't want there to be any hard feeling between us Harvey. When you and uh Rac-." "RACHEL!!!!" "Rachel were abducted, I was in Gordon's cage. I didn't rig those charges." "Your men, your plan." "Do I really look like a guy with plan? You know what I am, I'm a dog chasing cars. I wouldn't know what to do with one if I caught it, you know I would just do things. The mob's got plans, the cops have plans, Gordon's got plans. You see they're schemers. I'm not a schemer. I try to show the schemers how...pathetic their attempts to control things really are. So when I say ahh come here, when I say that you and your girlfriend was nothing personal, you know that I'm telling the truth. See it's the schemers that put you where you are. You were a Schemer, you had plans, and uhh look where that got you. You see I just did what I do best. I took your little plan and I turned it on its self. Look at what I did to this city with a few drums of gas and a couple of bullets. Mmm?
“ I believe whatever doesn’t kill you simply makes you.... stranger” This is so true just look at soldiers coming back from war as a good example even do they survive they come back having all sorts of psychological problems. Honestly Joker has so many iconic and thought provoking lines in this film it’s amazing truly the Best joker ever.
"I don't wanna kill you. What would I do without you?" I love it when Joker makes comments like that. You really feel like Joker doesn't truly hate Batman.
The best villain of all time. The most disturbing part is what most of he says is true. A man of simple tastes. An abundance of deep sociological commentary happening in this film.
Great quotes, though my favourite scene though would have to be the hospital explosion scene purely due to it being improvised by Ledger when the explosion didn't initially go off as planned. So glad they kept filming and kept the scene in the movie. 2nd favourite scene is the magic pencil trick "Tada! Its... its gooone!"
Hello fright fans , i was just " passing " and i had to read all the wonderful comments you joker fans posted .and yes i agree the pencil trick wasn't have bad . Its not really as horrible as some of u say when you look at it from a " joker " view "point" . I guess its a "writer" thing . The joker was just getting his " point" a~"cross". Wouldn't you say .so lets "jest" put a smile on our faces shall we, and the jokers not the type to "pass" away just yet . Because his views "points" stem from good and evil . Not rite and wrong . And money's worthless to the satan and to God is it not ? Only to men does this hold any value . U see to satan money is "mirror~key" a tool . Bate if u "will and last test~a~men t ". You see when you look at things from a spiritual point of few instead of fleshly . Men and women or very predictable at the "decest" . No ladies and gentlemen ,the jokers very much alive and " ticking" . So i ask u dear friends " seen any pencils up close lately !?. If you did i'll bet you a donut to a mouth full of piss and let you " hold all bets " , that you would blow your mind .huh ???
when he is driving from the back seat of the cop car has got to be the best thing I've ever seen. the way he is just swerving and looks so in love with what he is doing makes me feel how mad he really is.
One of the most terrifying things about the joker is that he is extremely possible to be real. He doesn't have powers. No money. No real home or identity. Just plain insanity. The only thing keeping something like the joker out of our world is that we contain people like him before they got loose. Joket wasn't contained. And I imagine many people in the future won't be contained either....
I went from watching him in an interview talking about his joker role to this. The fact he can become a completely different person is extremely moving
That one scene where he talks to Batman, about Batman completing him, is really good! Batman and the Joker, they always have this whole Yin-Yang-thing going on. They really do complete each other, which is why i like this scene so much!
