Love Norway 🇳🇴❤️ Visiting again in August and spending 1 day in Oslo before heading over to the Fjords. This vlog is perfect for giving some ideas on my trip. Thanks for giving great information along with a great smile 😁
Thanks a lot for a great tour. I am from Oslo but living abroad. And I think you mentioned most of the essential futures to discover in Oslo. Again thanks a lot for an outstanding informative video!
Hi Michele, thank you so much for this video! It is really very useful! I was watching it before my trip to Oslo. I've spend in this lovely city 2 1/2 days and today watched video again with "other eyes". I visited almost all places, that you recommend in your overview I am so happy!
Got a question about Oslo? Ask me in the comments below :) P.S. I miscounted and missed No.3 "See Edvard Munch's Grave at Cemetery of Our Saviour" so the numbering is all off by 1. Sorry!)
@@theintrepidguide We did, in spite of the rain! we'll go back, because luckily, we don't leave far. We'll check your other videos for some travel inspiration 😎. Thanks
I'm from The Netherlands and just looking for some places i've never been before and Oslo seems really interesting, I'm searching a northern country to go in summer because I dont like heat 😅 and with going to Norway I have all Scandinavia visited Thanks for the video, i've learned a lot about the city and it looks really pretty! 🇧🇻
We need more of videos like yours 😎 im a Oslo native amidst a Sea of innflyttere (people who moved in from the countryside) as much as i love showing Off awesome parts of my city to new people ive often felt lonely in being the only one with wide array of knowledge in regards to this. Keep in mind ive grew up in town and know my way of the urban fabric aka being Street smart and it kinda frightens me how ive met people who dont know alot of Oslo basics Even though they have lived here for years. So thank you for this wonderful walkabout about the big-small town Oslo.
Nostalgy... My youngest daughter was born in Oslo...It was so pitty to leave Oslo 20 years ago. After pandemic my family will visit again my children homeland...We love Norway, we love Oslo and Voss..
How to tell you love your job without saying you love your job kind of video. Super loved this, Michele! Major gratitude! Absolutely unique and amazingly done 🧡🤩👌🏽
It's also worth to visit other islands on the oslo's fjord, you can get there by public transport. I had bought a 7-day public transport card when I was there, and I could go to those islands (I was on three of them but the fairy was going to more) without additional fee :) And when you'll visit a skijump (Holmenkollen) you can ride a rope ride from the top of it, to feel like real ski jumper :D
This is a very interesting city, I hope I can visit again sometime in the future. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much! And please keep up the great job! Subscribed!
Just stumbled across this great video. I was in Oslo a few years ago and visited many of the places shown in the video. One of the most fascinating places I visited was the Norwegian Resistance Museum which is within the grounds of Akershus Fortress - close to the city. Pity it wasn’t included in the video as I would say it’s definitely a “must see” in Oslo.
May I ask that if I’m a tourist from Asia planning solo travel to Norway without any debit or credit cards , just cash , would I be able to find some cafe that accept cash and able to ride bus using cash ?
I think I'm gonna subscribe to you now, mainly because you're just so enjoyable to listen to! The nicest RU-vid travel guide I've ever come across! I'm going to Oslo soon. Excited to see it. Thank you for this! P.S. I love how every item on the list features a different outfit you're wearing! I love all your clothes! :)
Alison, you don’t know how much your lovely comment means to me. Thank you so much for thoughtful and kind words. You’ve seriously made my day 😀 Wishing you a wonderful time in Oslo 😀
@@theintrepidguide Keep on being awesome! You have a fun, happy light about you! Also, I may or may not have just found your Instagram account... and the pictures are all so lovely... like, the really pretty kind of scenery that I want to have appear in my Insta feed!
Wow, that was a really great video, thanks for sharing, I am planning a trip to Norway, and BTW which is the best place to spot the midnight sun in Norway?
Coming to oslo from the port on a cruise soon.... can you recommend shops for souvenirs/Christmas ornaments shops that is walkable from the port. Also the munch museum or the national museum has the official scream painting? Trying to do research and I've seen the scream painting at both places now. Also any suggestions on where to get skolebrod Thanks for any help
Trying to find my family there and no one will help me, so much for the internet, looking for the olsens family in NY! I'm looking for you, been since 1984 since I last saw you!
I missed the possible ride to the top of the new Holmenkollen Ski-jump, designed by a Danish Architect Firm, but in the seventies I stood on top of the old tower, and looked down on the small lake. Not for all the money in the world I would take a pair of skies on my feet, and glide down! Sadly because formerly the now not existing lake was used for a very funny competition during summer, rolling down a ramp in a kind of "boat" to reach and ring a bell on a pole in the lake! Firm
Hi Michelle, your content so amazing.. could you advise the best place to see Northern Lights? Is Tromso the best place to enjoy northern lights ? Thanks ❤️
Thank you for this video! I'm heading to Oslo beginning of November and would love to see some scenic views of the mountains and lakes. Are there easy ways to see them and get to them?
Great video about Oslo tour. I have a question. What else can someone do besides Oslo city center? I mean a little outside but not very far such as like a small road trip and of course what can someone try for local food? Tak og min neste reise er til Norge.
Tusen takk! :) An hour north of Oslo is Kistefos museum which is really lovely sculpture park. I also recomment visiting Hadeland Glassverk :) Ha en fin tur!
G'day from your home town, Melbourne!! Not hard to pick that accent!! My wife and I are coming to Oslo-Bergen enroute to catch the North Lights in January next year. Any advice on what what may or may not be open in winter in Oslo? Thanks. Vincent
@@theintrepidguide Thanks so much Michelle. Enjoy your globe trotting. BTW, hands down the most informative, open and honest You Tube review. Cheers Vince
Why is it that none of these RU-vid videos about Oslo and Norway mention the great collection of modern jazz musicians that live here? Plus the famous "Talent Studios?" and the ECM record label? Or Molde, which has the oldest jazz festival in Europe? (Not to mention The Oslo Jazz Festival,) I first came to Norway because so many of my favorite jazz musicians were Norwegians. Jon Christensen, Arild Andersen, Palle Danielsen, Terje Gewalt, Neils Peter Molvaer, guitar wizard Terje Rypdal, and Norway's national treasure, saxophonist, composer Jan Garbarek.Garbarek is known for taking Norwegian folk songs and rearranging them in a jazz style. I did two semesters of post-graduate study at Oslo University and my first semester I was already playing with a jazz trio and a blues band. Norwegian ECM musicians are world famous. It's time Norwegians begin to recognize them.
I know exactly how you feel :) If you enjoyed this, then you'll love my videos of Tromsø ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LqqJi_UqGZY.html and Lofoten ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FutAfggZXk0.html . Both are absolutely STUNNING!
