Really liked your Gamo magnum power review. Your watermelon test brought back some memories about the epic videos that I recorded using various centerfire ammo. I didn't post the vids at all because of all the BS I figured I get from anti-gunnerds. LambChop is a cool pet.
I agree this gun. Wood probably be more convenient if it had a magazine. But I do have to break barrel. Single shots that are. Unsuppressed and after testing all the guns. I found that. Have a girl's name to say. Because some of them cost upward like the one You're talking about that you Have I also have that model? I don't know if it's the same generation or magazine style. I know all my rifles were bought from gamo directly refurbished except for one I paid full price. And I don't remember the name. It's like the magnum but. Has a different barrel and pretty much. The same price of not more in might be called the swarm whisper. I don't remember back then. I paid almost $400 for the whole set up and it's a monster. But 1 day scanning through their website randomly. I found a bright orange single action. 22 break call the camo. It is a metal barrel with outstanding sites. It's loud but it's a powerhouse. I paid 8999 for it. And it's one of my favorite guns. I love the ridiculous neon orange camel. And when I got it. I was so pleased. I wanted to go buy 1 or 2 more, just in case. Something happened to that 1 for that price. I would either have backups or parts. But they were sold out not until recently had I seen the Same exact model but Gray with an optic. And it's $94. The point of my message is am I experience of shooting them and I shoot a lot of them all the time. The single shot is in convenient to load. But My camel has a heavy duty metal barrel. Turn it style trivium sites that I can literally hit Metal plate a 100 plus yards with pellet slugs. 34 grams or grain jsb slugs With the iron sites, my point is that even though it's a pain i* t** a** I know for a fact with or without an optic. Because the metal barrel and the single break in single shot. It is way more accurate yhem a magazine fed gun Just food for thought. It will be nice to have a 25 version of this with a magazine. But it depends on what you're into and what you're using at 4. I know with the correct pellet. The gun you are talking about now. The magnum can do more damage. Then my actual twenty two l r I tested them could reach out 100 to a 150 yd max with still. Massive energy force in damage now for projectile travel length. The twenty two l r might win that But if you're like me unless you're one hell of a shot. I would not even attempt to shoot A22LR at something a 150 or more yards away. Unless it was a target with a good backstop. But After a certain distance, they both lose power force. Energy and so on anyway, my point is, they have the 22 can low. That I paid $89 for without an optic and bright orange and Gray. Available on their site with a scope for 94. Also the gun above And other rifles and pistols and accessories. The prices are insane. I'm glad that I went to that side. After I only paid full price for that 1 rifle I mentioned if I did. I got my magnum 22 for I believe 1 59 99 refurbished with no optic. Kame with not a Scratch or ding I also picked up the wooden. Thebone collector I think or whatever one they have on there for like 159 with an optic. And then As today of date, I purchased about 10 more rifles from them. After that and they're customer services phenomenal The prices are ridiculous. $3 =400 guns. For less than a hundred and fifty And the gray camo i'm going to pick up now I've been looking at the site and people have been picking it up left and right. It's 94 bucks for the gun in the optic. It's a single shot but I promise you. It'll be the most accurate gun with or without an optic that you can probably Get break barrel. That's gas piston. Not a Springer. It's just food for thought sorry about the novel. And if you have an already and like I said, and I'm sure you do. Or have you can get beefed up pellet slugs or straight slugs to do severe damage with your magnum. I would even say it would probably be more powerful and punchier than this with a slug. Then this shooting Standard regular twenty five ammo But I don't know this is the first time. I've seen this 25. Don't know how long it's been out, but with then a year 2 of its release, you can usually get a refurbished one for more than our less than half of what it cost Full price
I bought the newer model 25, the "Hunter Xtreme" which was a Fourth of July exclusive and I freaking love it. It shoots insanely straight and comfortably with more power than I know what to do with. An absolutely beautiful gun.
I was always curious my first gun was the swarm 22. You're talking about? What is the difference between that and the magnum? They say the magnum is better and more powerful everywhere. I look but last time my checked the gun I bought cost more. Looks better and I don't have a coronagraph but. Seems Justice powerful as my magnum. With what I'm firing is it because of the sound reduction? Because that is one of the guns that I own that I've never really seen. Lose total value like a lot of the other guns, like the magnum was going for $3400. I picked up a refurbished off the website for for I believe 159 maybe 179. The one you're talking about. I paid almost $400 for brand new and it's hands down my favorite. For for Going Out to the field and doing multiple shots. For even shooting in the yard with neighbors, 25 feet away on each side. As long as I have the backstops that up I have. It sounds like Toy gun, my only wish was that it came with a iron site optics option as this gun has put my swarm whispered. I believe the barrel is all plastic on the outside. Not sure about the inside. Just found out that the handle. Cap pop's off a lot of these guns to store extra mags any way if you can let me know the difference between that gun and all the others, especially the magnum and why it's preferred, and it's the only one I do see that does not really go below half price even. Refu Rbished It's the first and only download that I paid full price for after discovering the. Refurbished guns, even the wooden ones like the bone collector and the other wooden one. The swarm, whatever hunter. I got both of them. Leaf furnished and the wood is flawless. Beautiful guns, those thunder a 150. Actually, I think the bone collector was one ninety nine but it's ridiculous and one of my favorites is a single brake barrel shot the camo I bought N orange 1 for 90 bucks. A couple of years ago haven't seen another one since I came back after I received mine and used it to purchase another 1. And they were sold out. Haven't seen any yet since today when I checked. They have a Gray within optic for 94 and my orange for 90. Some dollars has same iron sights is these. Above metal barrel. Pretty loud, very powerful with my good glasses. I can hit a hint to 10 inch. Metal plates up to almost a 100 yd easily with that gun iron sights. Anyway, I'm going back-and-forth jacked up on monster. L, o, l, let me know about the version you asked about why it is so desired. And why it's price holds over all the others. I looked at the specs and they're pretty much the same as the magnum. So I don't see why everyone thinks the Magnum is a better more powerful and all out better by one of personal purchased 1 for less and half of what the M Sr P was. Was not very impressed because the noise. Nice gun, Oregon omick, powerful foot. The one that you mentioned above that, we have to me putts out the same amount of Power saving mode distance salemagna energy. Just no noise. But I don't know if there's anything else that makes the gun. Hold it to value and so desired that it does not stay In stock especially refurbished
Good review, I have the gun in 22 and when Gamo put the 25 out I estimated that at sea level it should shoot the 25g at 750 fps , not a bad estimate considering the numbers you got at 5000 feet. They are definitely good guns.
I've had a Gamo Bull Whisper Extreme springer for 10 years now and it's still a strong shooter- I prefer steel springs over gas-piston; they hold up well. It is hard on scopes, I'm trying to set up some open sights on it now. My point is: Gamo makes good airguns and the steel springers are very durable.
If you ever want to replace your springs or seals I recommend airrifleheadquarters ARH. Jim Maccuri springs are very good. I use the E3650 usually or his square/helical wire spring with Tesla seals. You’ll still have to sand the ends and mirror polish the spring ends but it’s worth it.
I have a Gamo Jungle .22 springer and have always wanted a .25 from Gamo, but unfortunately they are not yet available in my county. Excellent and very informative presentation.
Hola Ben. Siempre te sigo y estoy pendiente de tus EXCELENTES VIDEOS!!! Este está genial!!! Muchas gracias por compartirnos estas lindas experiencias. Dios te bendiga en unión de tu Familia. Bendiciones Amigo.
Good to see the muzzle flips up in the video. Im have the hunter 1250 grizzly .22 Wishing that gamo have a spare .25 barrel for it love to convert to .25
they advertise 1000fps on a couple websites, amazon being one of those. I dont know how feather light those pellets have to be to go 1000fps, but this makes a lot more sense now, 700 being about max for something you'd actually use. Im glad you made this video.
They specifying using alloy pellets in their website to get that speed. They have a.25 cal golden pellet. I use that on the 1600 .177 and I constantly get the advertised speed
Great shooting Ben. Gamo/BSA should send you one of their "Outlook" 4-12×44 AO SCOPES to put on that beast for testing both the scope and pellet testing the rifle. Come on Man, GamoUSA!
I think they did send me one of those when they sent me the Arrow. I’ll rewatch that video to see… but I doubt it would hold up to the recoil on this. …
@@ShootingGearReviews Their "Outlook" are advertised as designed and made for the reverse recoil of break barrel rifles. My 3-9×40 is holding zero just fine on my Bone co Gen 2. But you have the beast. Planet optics has them in stock free shipping for only $90 for your viewers.
@@ShootingGearReviews In this case, why don't you try 1) An SWFA ss 16x42 scope 2) Longer trigger screw to make it a better trigger Sounds too extreme?
Hey Ben, just occurred to me I been watching for years and never really commented on just what you do in general. But I love how you do what you do and how it's more personal, like one enthusiast to another, and real life feel. As far as this particular production, I may have expressed a less than impressed opinion on the power performance in my prior comment. But that's not at all to say it's not to be appreciated for what it is. It sounds super smooth for a spring piston gun, looks awesome, and I can't wait to see what it can do with those hornets.
I have this same gun, and its very accurate... remember it needs cleaning, and broken in before you get the best accuracy., Put a decent scope on it...i put a u.t.g.3x9x40 on mine...very accurate at 27 yds. for this old man.
I love Gamo rifles like this and the Gamo Fusion Mach 1 because of the ridiculous velocity. It can be somewhat inaccurate but if you use large high grain pellets then it’s extremely accurate. So don’t buy regular Crosman or the PBA Platinums because they tumble after a few yards. I would recommend H&N Silver Points or anything that’s high grain.
With the power of the Gamo Magnum 177 & 22 heavier pellets work best. I have found that to be true with both. HOWEVER, with the 25 cal it does not have the power to push heavy 25 cal ammo options. It likes the medium heavy. Mine works best with the JSB 25.39 and the Hades.
HN and JSB exacts are basically all any serious air gunner will shoot. Been that way for decades. The rest are cheap garbage or pure gimmicks to market pellets to the ignorant.
Good review and video but whats the point of shooting a typical 25 grain pellet at 0.25? You should try heavier version pellets that dont exist in 0.22....You can find many 25 grain pellets in 0.22 similar to the one you shot in the video. But you cant find for example 25grain H&N hornets in 0.22 (in 0.22 they are 16grain) so this would be interesting to see
That thing is powerful. Wow, the cans were destroyed. I just got worried once you've rung. That little sheep out that would have been the next target LO. L, thank God it wasn't this gun as a monster is a monster. And I'll wait a little bit to get a refurbished version. I'm gonna finish the video, but I'm sold. All continue watching, but I'll probably have to start over. Does that have the metal barrel similar to the Cano? An optics or iron cites I love to shoot that gun with just the iron sites it is. Mind boggling For a $90 refurbished rifle, the power of the accuracy and the iron sights were phenomenal. And I believe I'm not mistaken. The Harold was metal or is metal. I'll have to check. Is this? I think this would be a perfect tax driver for having accuracy competitions with your buddy said a 100 plus yards. Or dependent skill level fifty or whatever
I have I think the same optics on my camo 22 I can really Bang out longshots and very accurate shots with just the iron sites on that gun. I'm picking up a Gray one after this review and the video. Because when I got my first one I went back to order another to have her back up in case. Santa never happened to it and I haven't seen them for at least a year or 2 on their website. I paid almost nine b bucks for the orange camo With no optic now they have the Gray with optic 94 bucks. Single shot 22 but out of my hopefully of breakbary's. I would have to say it's one of the most accurate. Because it's single shot non suppressed metal barrel. And If I only had one shot to take on something with a pellet rifle in my whole collection. It would be that exact one. The single shot in my opinion and experience. The shingle shots are far more superior and accurate. Then the magazine put them again. You have to factor in what you're using the gun for. It takes a little bit longer to break the barrel on. Pop-up palate and then get it ready for a second shot. Then it would with a magazine. But a single shot gun like this for me would be strictly for accuracy, precision and occasionally. Maybe Rodents, but I think I would break out the Cano for those. This would be over kill in my yard for a rodent
FROM MY RESEARCH Hatsan Mod 125 Spring Combo Spring Piston Air Rifle .25 Caliber $200 Amazon Max Velocity- Lead-Free- 900 FPS, Lead- 850 FPS; Max Energy- 34 FPE That would be 150 (ish) fps faster than this Gamo .25 cal air rifle
It would be nice if you were to elaborate on the entire process of how you broke the gun in. Did you clean it before using, or after the first few hundred rounds? If so, how did you do so? I've seen a LOT of inconsistent information whether to use Hoppes, Ballistol or gun oil when cleaning the barrels. I've seen posts swearing by any of the above, and others saying to NOT use them. Some even saying that the spring should be modified/lubed to "settle it down". All of the above cannot be correct, and some could possibly even void the warranty. So, rather than merely demonstrating yourself shooting two tight groups, please expand into details, about how the Gamo Break Barrel Air Rifles should be properly broken in, as well as maintained, specifying which protects to use, as well as which ones to avoid, in order to ensure the 5 year warranty, as well as having a reliable pellet rifle, that's enjoyable to use, for many years to come. Thank you!
I am a ballistol fan. I also own this rifle. I ran ballistol patches until clean. 250 rounds later, she is consistently giving quarter sized groups @ 50yrds. I've sighted in using hornet pellets. Deviststiing!!Good enough for any of my needs. I run patches roughly every 150 pellets.
I have a Gamo fusion Mach 1 .117. Thinking of getting the Magnum .22 0r the .25! Thinking the .22 will do what the .25 can do and cheaper pellets to a degree or more variety...Thoughts anyone????
I would say that it sort of depends on what you really want to do with the 22 or the 25. If taking slightly larger game like raccoons or even small hogs I would say the extra punch you get from the 25 would be appreciated. You don’t really for see that as being a need then the 22 magnum should cover all your bases pretty well.
I have a gamo whisper fusion mach 1 .177 1420fps I still can't believe I dropped a almost a full grown deer with the gold alloy pellets 25% more punch I shot it in the forehead right in between above the eyes about 25 yards or so I'm proud I own a gamo
Could try dieseling and might get that! Bit of WD40, 3 in 1, vaseline behind your pellet, get a few shots in to settle in. Be prepared to buy a few seals for pennies for the extra power.
So it's shooting a 25 grain at basically 700fps at 5000 above sea level ..Ben what speed would you predict at lower levels like say 400 ft above sea level .If that rifle can achieve 800 or close to it with the same 25 grain ..it's time to give my pcps a rest and hunt with this.
It does not like any slugs that I have tried. It shoots great with pellets. Slugs are best in higher powered guns that are shooting over 100 yards. This gun will never need slugs.
@@ShootingGearReviews I've noticed since the G- mag gen-3💩 came out you now cannot find the Gamo Mag Gen 2 with (open sights) for sale anymore WTF? that's pretty sick in a bad way!!!
These 400 dollar plus, air guns don't put hole in hole at 25yrds. Are nothing more than paper weights in my opinion. I don't care how hard they hit!!! My Hatsan 25 sniper is hole in hole at 25 yrds. 875 to 900 fps.mine run about 775 to 790. In 22 and 25. 177, 900 plus.with lead.Is plenty for a break barrel. 177, 22, or, 25. Accuracy is what matters. Give a Hatsan 125 sniper 177, 22, 25. A run get your money's worth. Plus, why is JSB. So much more accurate than most all other pellets. Js.. Also ya can't out do German steel..
I think the velocity might make it pellet picky but it is an interesting break barrel [I am just glad it is not a 10x I am about to rip that off of my rifle]
@@evanlucas8734 wanted one that was a single load. It’s faster when I need to pop a single shot off real quick. Like when I see a critter that don’t belong in the yard.
My .22 Gamo Swarm Magnum gets the same power! I've Chrono'd it and my .22 gets an average of 26-27 ft-lbs and has gotten about 30 ft-lbs using 21 grain pellets
@@Xtreme_Airgun_Slugs I filmed a test today that will reveal the difference between the two calibers (in the GAMO specifically) the video will go up very soon. 😉
