+list25 Denmark made it illegal to drive wearing a blindfold. Oh and I know someone was charged for sending naked photos to their partner. the age of consent is 16 but you have to be 18 to legally do porn. So because they were both under 18 she was breaking the law just taking the photo of herself. She was charged with the distribution of pornographic images of a minor.

#8 - The reason why it is illegal to dye baby chickens and the like is because of how the practice is done. The dye is injected into a fertilized egg, and though it is harmless if performed correctly, it's a pretty risky procedure and so under some state laws is considered inhumane. It's also possible that dyed chicks may garner more attention from certain predators as they really stand out. When the chick molts, the new feathers will replace the colored feathers.

I can't legally drive (it would be stupidly dangerous regardless) and I'm a guy who lives in nowhere canada and I can personally tell you that having the choice between being stuck at home or having one of your family members or friends escort you wherever you want to go can really suck. Even with the coolest most accommodating of families, you have to justify all of your travels to them, you have schedule your plans around their schedules, moods and whims (a change in their schedule can really screw your day(s) over). It is nearly impossible to do some private things privately (christmas shopping can require me to lie like a romulan). This also make employment outside of the home nearly impossible. On the bright side I'm never expected the DD to at the end of the night (but I will pay for my friends cab ride once in awhile to try make up for it), I always get to sleep on longer trips and have a screen in front of me the rest of the time. Oh, and I don't have to pay for a freakin car.

24 is not crazy. Imagine two different people. One that works 50 hours a week and gets 5$ an hour. And a spoiled rich person, with the worth of 500,000$. If the speeding ticket for both was 100$, the first one would slow down, and the second wouldn't care, because they have all the money they can spend on nonsense. Now imagine if the speeding ticket costs 100$ for the first one and 40,000$ for the second. In that case the both of them would slow down. #Equality?? #Finland

Thankfully #4 has been overturned now. How in the heck would you ever enforce #1? Like, if someone in China claims to be a reincarnation of a monk & the government catches wind of it would they fine them? Jail them? If no one ever lays claim to being a reincarnation of a monk are they just going on the assumption that the late monk obeyed the law? This law is so stupid... For one thing, reincarnation isn't in the hands of the individual person, it's in the hands of whatever greater power. For second, there's literally no way to enforce it...they could maybe fine the surviving people who were in the monk's life if they didn't clear their death with the government, but that's "insult to injury", it's not like you can physically track a soul to know where & who they'll come back as, so...literally all someone has to do is stay mum about their previous life & the government will never know. So dumb.

The mince pie law turned out to be a myth. Festive celebrations, including mince pies and Christmas puddings, were reportedly banned in Oliver Cromwell's England as part of efforts to tackle gluttony. But the ban did not survive when Charles II became king. In fact, the Law Commission says none of the 11 laws that remained on the statute books after Cromwell's reign related to mince pies.

I thoroughly enjoyed this list :) 21 isn't crazy... people deserve punishment for it. 18 wouldn't be bad. I had some idiot coming in store once who declared he had pink eye. seriously. 19- well darn.. was going to die there :P

A law in Iceland (although it's not been enforced and is now off the books) stated that all Turks could be killed without consequences in the country. In 1627 a Turkish pirate ship came here and abducted some people and sold into slavery in Turkey, apparently we took it a bit badly :)

#14 is not a law in South Africa, but is stupidly encouraged. The sad part is that some people drive with their high beams and even flood lights on during a sunshine clear day! Bonus: South Africa is one of only TWO countries in the world (apparently) where you are legally required to have a television licence to buy or possess a television set.

20. In Flint, Michigan, a person could get jail time for wearing sagging pants? Ironically enough, that's where it started...as a non-verbal cue to other prison inmates that the person wearing sagging pants was willing to be sexually submissive.

I know I'm a little late on commenting but I remember when the Chinese "One Child" Act was enacted. I was just a kid myself and I remember thinking how sad the law was .. how sad it would be to grow up without a brother or sister. Now I know it happens, everywhere ..

no guys the finnish guy is not the one who got the highest ticket, in some Cantons of Switzerland (where i live), fines are also calculated on the income of the person. A rich german guy got a 200k FRANCS ticket for speeding.

As for Number 2, at least if you break that law you don't go to jail. You just have to pay a fine, which is similar to pay extra tax. And religion freedom exist in US doesn't mean it have to exist in China.

In 2, the Chinese government had actually started phasing that law out in favor of a two child policy. According to some, it's an approvement of sorts and, as of 2018, the government is getting rid of population policies but it won't happen overnight.

Getting around by car is not the only means of transportation. Preventing women in Saudi Arabia from driving encourages them to take to ride bikes or take public transit, which reduces traffic congestion, air pollution, and is environmentally friendly. Still a crazy rule, but has a few benefits.

In Germany,Marco Reus,an Borussia Dortmund player, was fined using the same type of law like the #24 in your list because he was driving without license.

imo, saggy pants is considered indecent exposure. Canada has another annoying piece of legislation. It's called the Vital Statistics Act, and at least in one period of time, illegitimate children were considered non-persons. Research the movie The Stork Derby for more info on that.

i live in England an the no12 mince pie one is NEVER EVER EVER enforced or listened to. i doubt many brits even know it exists. I do agree with the bear one and i don't mind the dyeing or chicks/rabbits being illegal as it is cruel and some dyes can harm animals.

0:19 “it’s illegal to wear a bulletproof vest while committing murder in New Jersey” Me: isn’t it illegal to commit murder? Wtf does this law add to a serial killer’s death sentence?

Looking up crazy laws in indiana One may not sniff glue. A person must get a referral from a licensed physician if he or she wishes to see a hypnotist unless the desired procedure is to quit smoking or lose weight. No one may catch a fish with his bare hands.I'm not even sure how some of these laws are even handled, that's not even half of the crazy laws in this state.

It's still illegal for an Englishman to sell a horse to a Scotsman... It's also illegal to ride a horse down main street whilst wearing a kimono in Arizona. No idea how the fuck this one came to fruition....

number 20 should be a law all over America. cause that is disgusting. they think its a cool style for some reason unknown but not knowing the origin of it. origin is in prison guy with sagging pants is giving a invitation for sex. regardless nobody wants to see somebodys underwear it is called underwear for a reason.

In some parts of Missouri of the United States, it is illegal to have a beard more than two feet long. In Brazil, under the "Behavior code", it is illegal to use handcuffs.

I'd like to see those fines for speeding brought in everywhere. All the swans in England are owned by the monarch and I believe that it is illegal to kill one. There are heaps of weird laws and they vary especially in America. I read of a law for one state that it is illegal to carry around an ice cream in your pocket!

wtf... I'd like to see if they use #1 to imprison people for any reason at all. if my understanding of Buddhism is correct it's not like anyone would know that a child was a reincarnation of a monk unless the child told them.

In Finland, they don't see the point in making a poor person starve for an offense that a rich person would barely notice. This also has the benefit of making wealthier people think twice before committing an offense.

In Austria there also once had been a law to drive with lights on during the day. It had been removed again though when accidents increased instead of decreased (people were distracted by the lights and more pedestrians were hit).
