Herbert Erpaderp That's sad to hear. I guess that's why we have to treasure our beloved pets every day of their lives. You never know which day could be the last.
Sometimes mother mice have birthing complications; the stress of pregnancy, birth, and caring for babies can be too much for little mouse bodies. :( Yes, you just need to treasure animals every day; they live such short, delicate lives.
Krystall Vinter Stress. That is why some breeders cull down to a lower number. Sometimes the mother will make the choice and simply stop caring for them.
@@HerbertErpaderp Awww 😢 I had sooo many mice families growing up and I would've been devastated if the mom died while her babies were still growing. R.I.P. to your precious mouse!
Day one Everyone:Um... Hi (awkward silence) Day twenty five Everyone: Guys the teachers out!!!! Let's party!!!!! (CHAOS) * few minutes later * Oh shi- the teachers coming
They're sooo cute, omg! It's so sad that people dislike mice, because they're actually really cute, barely cause harm to anyone, and are fantastic cuddle buddies! I wish I could adopt so many more pets like these!
@bank Domesticated mice and rats still carry and spread diseases (fancy mice and fancy rats). Someone tried to sue Petco after getting bit by a pet and contracting RBF. Domesticated or not, they can still spread diseases that can be lethal to humans, not to mention hanta virus from their fecal matter (mice shit A LOT).
@The DEVIL MASTER Being domesticated doesn't magically change that, and yes, domesticated mice 100% do bite... I have been bitten many times by fancy mice and have gotten infections due to it. Mice bite hard as fuck.
@@lulz4lulz My wild rat (which I captured with a rattrap yesterday) gave 7 kids today inside the trap itself . Now, I don't know what to do because this might cause disease . Should I leave them in the wild , I fear the cat will eat them for sure??? What do you think ?
The video is so incredibly cute. We have 3 day old mice (we thought we had 3 girls, but apparently not!) So looking forward to watching them grow and opening their eyes.
You won't think they are cute when you discover that they have infested your food pantry and contaminated the whole place. Yesterday, I destroyed a nest of the filthy things that were about 1-2 days old and enjoyed killing the vermin. I am still in the laborious process of restoration.
@@donberry6079 ok sadic it's great that you share your opinions with others, it's good to have different thoughts from others, But can you please explain why you replied to a random people on video about rat development to tell him/her about how you enjoyed killing baby rats instead of talking about your COMPLETLY NORMAL action on another video? The options are two: or you picked the wrong video or Simply you really like to annoy peoples for no reasons Ah and for the peoples that will read his message IGNORE HIM and continue to enjoy the video
Awwwwwww the mice look so cute when they are babies!😍 Edit: idc if people think they look gross when they are babies I love babies if there animals or not
XxPanda BearxX Firstly I would point out that we posses no real threat towards the planet (mentioning the universe is just silly). Anything we throw towards the planet is nothing in comparison to what the planet can throw towards us. If Yellowstone erupted it would be a greater catastrophe towards all species on this earth than what we could ever accomplice. And yes, humans do bad things, but that's the price we pay. It's like alcohol. Sure there are abusive drunks, but that is a necessary evil compared to the rest of us who just drink beer and play darts and laugh and tell stories. Genocide, torture and hatred is the price we pay for lovers meeting on bridges, for science and laughing and music and friendship. Why do you think that we'll suddenly become victims of our worst qualities when we haven't done so for the past 250,000 years? The hate of men will pass and dictators will die, and all along we'll continue to be kind and happy and clever. You claiming that nothing ever gets fixed is like someone claiming the same during the dark ages. The fact that the world won't be perfect within your lifetime doesn't mean that we're doomed for all eternity.
I guess it depends. If she burries them in the hide and all together she probably wants to keep them warm and protected. If she's burrying individuals in random spots she's probably abandoning them.
I remember I used this video as a guide for my female mouse's babies 💕😊😂 it worked though, it helped me know when they would start getting color and hair, and when their eyes would open and on how energetic they would get as they grew older
I always wonder... if you end up with the experience of having a pregnant mouse give birth, and you're not a professional breeder - what in the world do you do to ensure they don't just keep having new litters together over and over until it's unmanagable? Do you actually determine the sex of all of them and separate them, or do you just get rid of all of them?
@@mchevre Back when I had the mice, my male mouse escaped during the night and managed to crawl into his mother’s cage. When they got to age I separated them, the females all in one tank and the males in their separate own tank. Some of the males were gifted off to close family and the females stayed with me to ensure that the same thing wouldn’t happen to them. It wasn’t very hard to determine the sex of the little guys. They all lived out their lives and passed away many years ago. It was cute watching them grow but never again would I have let that happen again, I made sure to secure their tanks even more after that so it wouldn’t occur. It was a lot of work cleaning up after so many mice!
Super cute! I love mice! Just a suggestion though: I wouldn't recommend using the wire wheel. I have seen mice get injured or even killed by them; especially when there are many mice in the cage. I recommend silent spinners. They are very safe and generally super quiet.
+Herbert Erpaderp Okay, I'm glad. I have seen mice injured by wire wheels though. Maybe it was because they were smaller ones or a bad design or something.
To clear some things up, Manx mice are a breed of mice that are either tailess or short tailed mice. Mice in general or rodents at that, do not grow tails, they are either born with it or not. Gorgeous babies by the way. Loved the video.
Have you ever seen anything so cute! And the little tailless ones! OMG! I would love a stubtail! And bless the little mommy for fostering the orphans, she did a great job. I loved the video. I love rodent videos where people love and appreciate them and let their inner rodent shine! Great video.
+Herbert Erpaderp I have had hamsters and mice take orphans I remember the day demon was born and his mom took in her new sister no demon isn't mean he is a sweetie like his grandfather
Hammies are adorable! I had them for years! My best hamster was a sweet little Teddy Bear Hammie named Puff Daddy. He considered himself quiet the ladys man and fathered lots of babies.
Lol my syrain hamster or teddy bear is so cute his grandfather took in baby's his name was peanut but babies don't go near demon he thinks they are food but that's a normal male hamster thing
shafik sheikh evolution, you had babys A and babys B. The group of A had two different extenral things, the brown hair and one blond(ish) i believe that one died. In this case it had no reazon but in nature this will say brown hair is more practical so the once who have that traid will live on and get more babies. Babys B had 3differen things, brown dots(a), blond dots(b), and some had fast growing (3)tails other had slow growing tail (4) Now you can combine those to a a3, a4, b3, b4. Nature will select the best surviver in there suroundings. In this case the breader will choose. Is people really like the a4 babys he will not make the b3 babys bread because that wouldnt help his cost. You get it probably and i realized i have been an annoying peice of shit now xD Biology, and genes. dna and stuff
thanks man ,it helped , actualley i dont know about the rats without tail that's why im confused ,actualley im a medical student and one of my favorite subject is genetics i know every thing replication ,gene transfer , tanslation ,transcription, all that mendel stuff , seggeregation , complementry ,supplementry , dominancy but ur reply helped me thanks ☆☆☆☆☆☆
haha okay, medical students for life XD secon year here. but in nature shit get weird AF and if somehow rats without tails live longer (because they cant get caught in there tail HA) evolution will kick in.
+kathrynvanwaart That's a convoluted and inaccurate explaination. They're just Manx mice, genetically some mice are born without tails and these are one of them.
If you ever find cattail tops, the mice make great nests out of them for the little ones. Dry them and break a 1/3rd off of it and offer it at the next clean out. Gotta love the pee wee's.
So my female mouse just gave birth yesterday. She was housed with 3 other males (only 2 of which were sexually active) Apparently a litter is generally 5-7 babies (she was huge according to google, my first time having her pregnant) she had 11-13 babies, still too early to separate them. So at least 11. It seems multiple rarities occurred in the same time as well as her first.
Before anyone goes crying about how they look as newborns, don’t forget most animals, especially mammals, look like that as newborns. That includes humans.
my dog got into a nest of 6 baby mice and I tried my best to save them, put them in a box with grass and a warm water bottle, as it was chilly that night. The next morning all but one were dead and the one that was breathing was barley hanging on.
Mice can reproduce fast but have a super high mortality rate. For example i bought 15 mouses and before they made the first litter they was 7 mouses left. 8 died in only 20 days.
OMG THEY ARE SO CUTE! I acctually have a mouse that is pregnant too, she is due any day now. Do you have any tips on taking care of baby mice? and a mother in general? this is the first time i have mouse babies :)
+Crystal Clear You don't really have to do much of anything, as the mother should take care of the babies herself, make sure she's got plenty of food and water and nesting materials. Be aware that she may eat them, or abandon some of them. It's probably best not to disturb her too much for the first couple of days, particularly if she's not fond of being handled. quietly and carefully observe though, because it's awesome and cute. I've heard of mother mice rejecting their babies if they've been handled, but I've not had that issue myself. I have found that handling the babies fairly frequently, though not excessively, when they are young makes them more calm when they grow up.
That is so beautiful. There are a lot of people in this world that see these little mice as food for snakes or whatever, these lovely little animals though deserve love just like any other animal. I have recently had 3 mice 2 male 1 female, the shop keeper was going to feed the babies from the female to the snakes, I saved them and now am going to split them up in separate homes so they can live their short lives having fun just like any other pet. Nature is nature but sometimes, most of the time it pays to have heart too.
The other day a mouse walked into my house and we decided to keep it. We aren’t sure if it’s age, and it seems young. It was abandoned (im like 80% sure) because my next door neighbours had a mouse and rat problem so their nest got disturbed and the mother likely left them. She has her eyes closed but she has some fur (she’s sort of opening her eyes) I think she’s 12-15 days old. Ty for helping me identify
I just found 8 nests in my garage, but they have all grown and have caused havoc in there, ive caught 4 in friendly traps and travel 5 miles to release them but its a full time job trying to catch them all
My mouse's first litter is about one and a half months old, ready to be sold. Her new litter is 4 days old and about to get fur. They grew so much quicker than the first litter, probably because she's a very healthy mom, healthier than she's ever been. Getting fed oxbow pellets mixed with my own seed mix. Decent sized cage with a wheel and toys. Living the good life. My feeders are super healthy. The first babies are sadly almost ready to be fed to my snake.
+The Mouse House I have read that that can be an issue, though I haven't seen any of mine with any obvious issues or discomfort. I'm obviously not an expert, but they seem happy.
My mouse had her first litter - 9 babies. They all look very tiny and weak, much smaller than the ones in this video. Is there anything I can do besides just letting nature take it's course?
Just want to say don't use the wheels because they may harm the baby's paws they may like I'm get cut or something like that I'm not trying to be smart just saying 😊
You need to change that wheel, it needs to have a solid surface so their feet wont hurt and so their limbs and tails wont get stuck. Also the bars on the sides could cause other mice to get hurt while the wheel is moving.
