If you put the timestamps with colons not periods it will separate your video with track markers. I did it so that I could at least click the timestamps. Thanks! i guess im asking the wrong place but does someone know of a way to log back into an instagram account? I was stupid lost my account password. I appreciate any assistance you can offer me!
@Daniel Tatum I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm in the hacking process atm. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
The best way to get to know these machines is everytime you switch it off at night turn everything to zero or off, you'll be amazed that every time you have to switch it on and reset everything you will get to know this machine like the back of your hand in no time
First i want to say that you made a great rewiew,..the most demos are 303 schelshy and they can´t get that timbre one can expect from this type of Moogish style beauty :) I once owned a real Model D from 1978 and lost it in a tragic happening, cried for 23 yrs until i got the Poly D and it sounds soo good that i never think about The Minimoog ;D Thanks for a super demo
I think the best time that I've ever had listened to musicians is when they are just dabbling not so much when they're playing any songs nor compositions not even practicing just losing their mind for a little while letting us hear what they are feeling at the time the word of the day is moot rocks
Great walk-through, got me really stoked! Your video tipped me over the edge. I’m into modular, but wanted a straight vintage style Mini after I lost my Moog Opus 3 many years ago. Great job!
@@jonathanfrieze8497 yes, I bought one, hated it, sold it and then I bought a Moog sub25, I still enjoy using the latter. I highly recommend you trying an instrument before buying it, I just couldn’t vibe with the Poly D.
@@El_MVRK hey sorry i didnt see your reply i aooreciate that more than you can know alot of people wouldnt have taken the time to answer and your opinion will carry alot of weight thinking of just cutting the chase and get a top tier polybrute or maybe the deepmind 12 ive been very curious aboit it as well been looking at them for a while i just have a miniogue and some vst but i come from. being a guitar player drummer organ grew up on that pedal steel my true favorite you have fun with your stuff i hope youve been able to be crative and write your own music again thanks for that reply
I've always been a fan of synth music but never produced any or had knowledge that something like the Poly D existed. My 11 year old son has shared my energy as I'm finding more and more Poly D content, and "he" will be getting one for an early Christmas present. He is undergoing major knee surgery and the Poly will be a great escape for him during recovery. Thank you so much for posting this type of content. I will be playing this on repeat all day long as I work!
I´m so glad! I´m a certified synthfreak now :-) Very cool video, thank you for these great sounds. I will try to reproduce most of them on my Poly D.....
Excelent video! Had so much fun latly when doing someon my poly d. Thanks for this! Also check out Matt Johnson Jamiroquai playing and explaining his moog lead sound..
wow this makes me want to buy this and take up piano again after 30 years...is there a cheaper version out there where I can get as good p-funk sounds?
I was trying to figure out the Thriller bass with iOS moog. I might be wrong but I think the its more of a retrigger situation on the original? This one sounds very legato or in general less aggressive. Either a retrigger with some healthy glide or legato with less glide?
due to house renovation mine is packed away and has been for some time but i had mine the 1st week they came out in Europe, i am sure it is in synth tool, just like we can increase the mod wheel amount by about 300% along with other stuff
More of a show off video.. great sounding patches but can barley see the settings many of the sounds are off for me.. why not release an official patch sheet? What it is run the headphone out to the overdrive lol? would be nice to see the actual patch sheet and where you have the headphone out routed back in to.
I have the Poly D and it is a great synthesizer, the only thing is when i activate Uni or Poly modes and play chords, sometimes the notes change by its own, I mean I can't keep the same chords each time I play it. I got unexpectable notes randomly... is this happening to you too? Thank you.
Hey Luke awesome demo as always. I mostly do r&b, funk and jazz music and I'm debating between getting a Little Phatty Stage II or a PolyD. Excluding patch storage on the Moog and the possibility of playing chords on the PolyD (althought those pad sounds are awesome), which one would you suggest for someone that will only have 1 mono synth? Im leaning towrds getting the little phatty and your soundset but the PolyD also sounds really good!
Either would do for those genres. They both sound really good and have the different advantages over each. You really can't go wrong with either. The main thing you should ask yourself is can i do without patch memory. For some people this is not an issue but for others it can be the thing that leads them to sell the synth later on down the line.
i have both; they both have incredible sound; and i find myself grabbing the poly D over the little phatty; solely for the ability to play chords on the poly d. not having patch memory really doesn't bother me; but if you were to use it for live gigs then patch memory would come in very very handy.
Do you think the D tends to sound a bit weedy and muted playing chords compared to real poly synths. I can't put my finger on it but i'm sure it sounds nice but not big enough or lacking impact?
No i deffo wouldn't say that it sounds weedy in poly mode. If anything it can be too fat. I think maybe because it's a 3 octave keyboard it prevents you from being able to play a chord and hit that bottom bass note. Hooking it up to a midi controller would of course allow you to do that and get a bigger, fatter sound.
It's because this is a tribute to the classic Minimoog, which didn't have presets either. It's not meant to be a fancy high tech synth with all the bells and whistles anyone could want. Some people...
I personally love that it doesn't have patches. It inspires me to let go of what's familiar and try new sounds everytime I play. I've gotten better at sound design in the single week I've owned the Poly D than in the previous several years I've played vst synths.
The more I delve into mine the more I love it. Also trying the patches from the Minimoog Sound Charts booklet by Tom Rhea copyright 1974 that came with my Minimoog from way back then.

im not a synth guy, can barely play anything on piano but im a guitarist who has been playing for 15+ years and i also play bass, drums and other string instruments and i’ve got to say! this shit is real good! i can tell by your ear for sounds, and also other comments from other synth guys! this is amazing! was looking to buy a synth and you’ve convinced me! this is a great video dude! keep up the good work and take care in theese hard times (and never stop practicing!!)
You just cost me 700 bucks hahaha Great demo, really appreciate your musicality and recreating some iconic sounds to showcase what the synth is capable of!

The Poly D was going for $500 during black Friday....and I did not buy. I hope I did the right thing, I am regretting my decision however. Someone tell me how bad this synth is so I can feel better :)
Best demo 👍 you're playing it good, and show it fully, other demo's just Arp ing it and that is not showing the envelopes and possibilities, thanks a lot, 👍💚🙏☀️🎹☯️
