@@bexthet-rex Scraping the bottom of the barrel as in the guy didn't have enough clips so he just put a few random ones that don't fit the theme, like the one with the kid handing his dad a drink and another one with a woman winning a dart throwing championship (first time a woman won, ok, but like darts is finesse not strength, finesse isn't something that's affected by being male or female). You'd believe these things even if they weren't filmed. The guy just reallllly wanted to hit 25 and was close, but didn't have enough clips.

Nop, the arrow completely missed the cauldron. The camera shot just made it look like it. Some Mexican reporters got in serious trouble for filming the whole thing.

I thought that was obvious, but maybe not to Mr. voiceover.

Arrow was to be shot over the top of the cauldron, wasn't intended to go in at all as the required trajectory for that would've been a HUGE safety risk (imagine that thing arching aaaaall the way up...and then falling straight down the top seat row of the stadium. Way to start an olympic event isn't it?). Instead a tense trajectory that would send the arrow crossing OVER the cauldron was decided upon - which would minimize the risks of the arrow landing on some random dude on the stands. Also, flames were ignited remotely as the arrow went past. The original idea was to use the arrow to actually ignite the flame as it crossed a gas stream that was emanating from the cauldron itself, but in tests it was found that it was far too unreliable (even with the arrow perfectly crossing the gas stream sometimes it wouldn't ignite anyway or ignite improperly. Wind being unpredictable with the gas stream also being a serious issue). Of course nobody wanted to risk it in the real thing, so the archer was told to just send the arrow over the cauldron, and the fire was started by a technician at the proper moment. Of course reporters would get into trouble. The whole thing was designed to look nice and be a magical moment at the time. That someone would go the extra mile to destroy the effect ASAP just proves how stupid some reporters are at times.

Everyone knows sleight of hand is not magic, that there are tricks involved in it, and stops being a wonderful thing as soon as the trick is revealed. Same with this. I don't think anyone would've doubted there was a lighter on the cauldron to lit it up, or that the intention was to put the arrow into it instead of passing it over. It's too obvious that both had to be done, one to insure the lightning was succesful, the second because trying to arc an arrow into the cauldroun would've involved innaceptable security risks. But the visual effect of the whole thing was marvelous and having someone there just for the purpose of spoiling the whole thing just for kicks, shits, and jiggles, was a thing of assholes...the same it would be to ruin a mage's card trick performance in front of your friends because you know how it's done. You piss the mage off, you ruin the amazement for your friends and overall, you're an asshole if you do it. Stupid I don't know, but a dick for sure... Same thing here.

There's other sports where strenght is not required to win and where men and women compete against each other just fine. Just because men are physically stronger, doesn't make them better everywhere and every time, but it does often come with a superior-complex, unfortunately.

All I'm saying is male or female, you can shape your body anyway you want if you work hard for it. Men and women can BOTH have great strength and win at strength requiring competitions when they both work for it. Thats why it should be no surprise that a woman can win by strength as well. Women and men are both human beings and they can both have the same physical atrributes if they work hard for it.

I even called BS on this when it aired live, way before there was the luxury of watching it repeatedly in slow-mo on RU-vid.

You are right about one thing. Parkour shouldn't be difficult. It's very natural movement, just learned to do in a safe way, and at bigger distances, bigger heights, etc. It's getting from A to B the quickest, most efficient, and safest way, overcoming all obstacles. It's what kids do naturally, but taken to an advanced level.
