25 Most CONFUSING Things About Disney Genie Plus: Our Tips to Stay Sane at Walt Disney World 

Hello Rob and Erick, noone is explaining Genie+ better than you are, thanks a lot for this amazing and educational video.

Recommend a follow up video: 2 Genie + strategies: booking LL's for "right now" versus stacking them all day until you have 4-5 back to back in the evening (up to 7 if you have Individual ones booked too). We have done both and there are definite pros and cons for each strategy.

Love watching your videos and seeing Erick more! We went last year during Spring Break, and we crushed Genie+ and got on all the "big" rides because of your tips and tricks! We are going back in August this year. I would love to see stragey for Genie+ that the rides are close together in the parks. I dont know the lay of the land so much. If I knew what rides were close together, that would be awesome. With that knowledge and playing the slots, that would be a winning combo for sure. As you know, time is so precious in Disney!

Just got home from a 4 night stay at WDW. Your videos are so helpful and entertaining, just like Epcot Centre used to be. Infotainment. We used G+ in MK and got 10 lightning lanes. It’s all about that strategy. In Epcot got all 3 of the big ones. Remy, Frozen and Test Track. Thanks for all your joyful and informative videos.

Decades ago when I was a personal trainer…one of my most effective techniques to get people to understand how to do a move properly was to show them HOW IT COULD GO WRONG for better perspective. And you did that SO EFFECTIVELY in today’s video!!!!! Excellent evolution on teaching us Genie plus Rob! Thank you!!

Great video! You are the best blogger I've seen to describe Genie + in ways we can all understand, including all the pro tips and tricks! Thanks to your description of the refresh button as a slot machine, we have come to love playing the Disney Genie Slots as a game rather than see Genie Plus as work or frustrating. Sometimes I play the slots while waiting for an appointment, even when I'm not going to the parks (just to see the return times change to earlier)! One thing I might have missed in this video, did you mention how on the modify screen you can lose the better time on the "Confirm your party" screen? That's important. One other pro tip: (at <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="2700">45:00</a>) when you remove someone from your party on a LL, it changes when that person can book again, which can throw that person off the booking schedule that the rest of the party has, which can make it tough to book future LL's for the whole party. That happened to us, so we just kept everyone in the party and had the person who didn't want to ride tap in and then meet us after the ride (which admittedly is a pain for rides with 2 tap points). Thanks for putting these videos out!

Just completed our first day at the parks using Genie + and more importantly the Genie Slots.... it works so so well... we had lots of luck but never would have known about it if it wasn't for your tips 😊.... we're staying in Saratoga and on our back to our room passed someone I thought was Rob but chickened out saying hello!!

Instead, we are planning on doing the after hours event at Magic Kingdom Monday. Less stressful, and should be a great date night for me and the wife. Your videos are so well done and informative.

I really like the way you present the information you are providing. I have an idea that I think might be popular with folks. You clearly know your way around all the Disney parks and I'm thinking that it would be helpful if someone (you) made videos that provided novices (like me) with some ability to navigate within each park. I don't get to spend much time there and when I am in the parks I almost always feel lost. Feeling lost is not a good feeling. Your videos have made me feel more comfortable navigating Genie+, now I need to get comfortable navigating the parks. I am trying to study the maps in advance of my next visit but I was thinking perhaps you could teach folks how to navigate the parks just like you teach us to navigate Genie+. Thanks so much.

I’ve being watching several videos in prep for my family trip on July, but yours are the best. 1 question: the individual lighting lane, if I tap on it, it counts as the most recent lightning lane so I can book a new one? (I.e: I book tron, through individual lighting lane, and go there and get the ride, would it make me the lighting lane selection available in genie +, so I can book another one?)

Hello Ear Scouts, we're from the UK and absolutely love your videos. You helped make our first family Disney visit in Feb the best it could be. One gotcha we found with Genie+ was to make sure you pay attention to any time changes between clicking on a return time, then confirming it on the next page. We got caught out not paying attention and accidentally moved our time to later in the day 😢

Thanks for the help! Do you have a video that shows the process of booking and ILL with screen recording? Can you pick the return time for an ILL or is it like Genie+ where you have to "play the slots" to get a time that works for you? Thanks!

We just got back from WDW. I watched Rob several times before I went in November but I was more careful before this last trip. Thanks to these videos, I got about 4 more lightning lanes than I would have gotten on the rides that are the hardest to get. This guy knows his Genie + stuff. Play those Genie Slots.

I have a question... back in the days with fastpass you could modify, pick the most early time showed as a suggestion and repeat that process until you had the time you wished for. Is that still the case? Do you get the first available at the day at the slots or is it still like it was?

Hi, I enjoy your videos. Do you have any insight lightning lane and rider swap? We'd be a party of 5 (2 adults, 2 kids and one 2 yr old) if we had a lightning lane can 2 of us have to tap in first or do we have to set up rider swap? Not that it would happen at every ride but there are a few.

Very helpful! I was an expert prior to Covid and all changes made through me. Now that I was voluntold to set my family of 15 up I feel a little better.

Can I book one ride when I taped in star tour( at <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="95">1:35</a>pm) and book another one after this window expire(<a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="155">2:35</a>pm)

Can you get a lighting lane at 7am and then the 2 hours goes by and at 9 you can get another one? Or does that 2 hour cooldown start when the park opens

I found Magic Kingdom the most difficult to navigate, especially with genie plus. 😔 All of the other parks, this system & these tips worked seamlessly!

I love this and feel better for our upcoming trip! This will be our first time. I still do have a question, how do you stop to enjoy Disney without feeling like you’re running from ride to ride if they are on opposite ends of the park?

I have a question about virtual queues. Does it matter how large your party is? I will be traveling with 7 others. Should we be breaking into 2 groups for this?

Say I edit my riders for a particular ride from 7 riders to 4 riders. When I go to book my next ride will it default back to 7 riders or will it be the 4 riders from my last selection?

Love, love, love all these tips and tricks. Question: If me and my husband will be together, should we create and sign in to 2 different app accounts, but link them? Reason I'm asking, if we are both refreshing (Disney slots) and trying to get better times, but we are both signed in on our phones to the same account, are we canceling each other out or will it not work for some reason? Hopefully that makes sense. TIA.

I have a question but it’s not related to this video. I watched one of your other videos about a different entrance to Epcot the international gateway I believe it was called. Is it possible to get to that entrance while staying at port Orleans riverside? I wasn’t sure if you can drive to a different resort in the morning to catch a ride on the skyliner

Super helpful vids! QQ - You say "After you tap in at the most recently booked LL". Just wanted to clarify the recently part. So lets say I booked LL #1 at 7 am with a return time of <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="675">11:15</a> am. Then I booked LL #2 at 11 am with a return time of 7 pm. When I tap into LL #1 at <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="675">11:15</a> am, I will NOT be allowed to book LL #3 since what I tapped into isn't my most recently booked LL (that would be LL#2). Is that accurate? Also, is there any way to see how many LLs you did and in what order you got them from a previous trip? Maybe somewhere in the mydisney app or website? Thanks in advance!

If they allow lightning lanes to be booked in advance, won't they fill up a long time before you go to the park?

Ok....you booked jungle cruise at 7am....you then booked subsequent rides after the 2 hr mark. Am i right in saying you can book attractions far out in the day and fill the time by booking rides leading up to it as long as you hit that initial 2 hr window???

So do you have to purchase genie plus as a separate transaction BEFORE you can book a lightening lane or does the booking of the lightning lane just assume you are buying genie plus?
