August 2018 at the Glenwood Arts Fest School of Rock Chicago--her first time performing this guitar solo also happened to be her last show with SoR Chicago--one for the ages
Wow. Did I just see a person that young play one of the most challenging guitar solos ever live? I think I have that same guitar but mine doesn't do that. Blistering!
Jimi Hendrix once said that Terry Kath was the greatest guitarist he'd ever heard. Well, I suspect both Jimi and Terry are looking down and seeing Leah take it from here. Unbelievable talent. The singer is outstanding. You gotta love these kids. A huge thumbs up here!
I played music for 50 years and was a union studio musician in the 80's and have played with Carlos Santatna, George Throrogood and Pat Travers in my day. I have never seen a working cover band with more talent or energy. This is why rock and roll is great!
Joe Carlo Kids vs adult professional musicians. Kids playing live (seriously doubt there was any kind of a sound check prior to playing) vs professionals in studio, probable over dubs, definitely EQ’d, mixed and mastered. These kids aren’t out there trying to be a Chicago cover band trying to get paying gigs, they are out there jamming, having a ton of fun. Is Leonids version better, sure but it’s apples to oranges.
@@flogginhammers4393 My comment was based on this statement, "I have never seen a working cover band with more talent or energy." but thanks for playing.
Infamous Guitar player to try and mimic, but what a fantastic job , all of you great job not easy to pull off but you did it , drum's , brass, bass, vocals Amazeboes!!!!
Ok ive been playing guitar for over 40 years and have played in countless bands. Becoming a good musician is just a matter of how much you really want it...but a good singer is a natural born talent. Finding a good singer has been difficult, but you guys seem to have multiple good singers. Very impressed....the instrumentation is excellent as well but you just cant have a great band without great singer.... i found you guys by accident last night and have listened to only a handful of songs, but i just have to say again...your vocals are very strong. Thanks for keeping the fire burning.
Hi Brad, thanks so much for your supportive comments! we'll have to wait and see what college (and beyond) does for our next generation of musicians... :)
Y'all are sooooo good. Somewhere, Terry Kath is smiling! Horns nailed it, and the lead singer can raise the hairs on one's neck. And let's not forget the drummer - solid pocket groove. Bassist knows her stuff, too.
Strolling through and trying to find something good on there and I found you guys thank you South Park is teaching our children how to cuss and swear and use all kind of vulgar language I spoke up about it too just needs to be stopping us country thank you for bringing the seventies back to lot thank you for being a stay at 70 back to life
Fucking awesome. So talented and versatile at such a young age. Keep playing please. Would love to hear any original material. You guys got me hooked when I first heard Never Been Any Reason. Keep rocking. I noticed you like to cover Illinois based bands. What about STYX........hahaha
Old guy from MD here.....I've watched and loved "never been any reason" a dozen times by these kids, and just found this one. New stuff to enjoy, Thank you.
This is the second one of these I've seen now, these kids really rocked it pretty well. TBH, it actually brought tears to my eyes because it was REAL music made live using instruments.
Amazing performance!! Incredible talent. Seeing Chicago playing this live is a blast - that Terry Kath solo!!! Well, these guys did their version and it blew me away as much as the original. When you consider how young they are and tackling such classics AND giving them new life, it warms my heart. They're having fun doing this and that's how it should be. They are already rock stars!!!
But you will remember how young the members of Chicago were when this dropped...a bit older than these girls but I think Peter was the eldest member at age 25.
I'm looking for more songs that your band plays. You guys are amazing ! So much talent. I would fly from Fort worth to watch you play. Each and every one of you have a wonderful gift !
I'll never forget seeing Chicago in the 60s at Six Flags over Georgia and must have had 25 members on Tour gave a really deep deep vibrating feeling only comes from the big band era and you have stole my 💓 with this one and I have been on stage with ACDC, Humble Pie,Van Halen,Thin Lizzy. thanks...dennis.
If you ever make it to Washington State, let me know! I live in Spokane!!! You are "BEAUTIFUL" and ROCK Hard💎 what more can I say? Are you in another band now?
Great band !! So versatile !!! The singer though !! She is a WOW for me !!! Get down with more rock !!! I'm a fan for sure !! Props to the guitar player !!! Great !!!!!!!
I am officially blown away by this! Not a lot of bands would even dare to try and cover a song as complex as this and they nailed it! Awesome job kids!
Wow! Great job! The band seems pretty youthful, yet they are playing songs from my youth. That's very encouraging, and was very enjoyable to watch and hear... The guitarist is very good... :-)
Oh man oh man - I was looking for the originals "Head East" cuz this was one of MY rock and roll songs!! Back in 1969. And I came across this cover... Oh man oh man. And then I came across their "25 or 6 to 4" cover... oh man oh man... Are you kiddin' me? These are my Grandkids!! And they are knockin' it out at the local Park bandstand!! And just havin' so much fun!! Over in England there is the Classic Rock Show Band. But now WE have the Red Hots. I know it is hard to keep sumptin like this together at this age....Just ask Bob Seger... But you guys really rock. It is worth keepin' this going. I would book the Cape Cod Melody Tent - now. If I can help just let me know. I have about 50 lined up already!
Just absolutely amazing. They all should be so proud. I believe they captured the essence of Terry, Peter, Robert , Danny the rest of the horns . Wonderful version!
God I LOVE you Guy's!!! The versatility of this Band is Astounding. I too play many Instruments, and been in my fair share of bands in my day, so watching you guys is Sheer Joy. The drummer is ON THE MONEY, and the lead Guitar taking on the Late Great Terry Kath was Awesome not to mention the Singer who sang with Power and Authority! The Bass player was Laying it Down and the Horns with the exception of a few notes was KILLER, what I'm trying to say is I'm loving this Band! Again Thank you for Posting this... This Band just puts a BIG SMILE ON THIS FACE........🎸💚
After seeing you play the Head East song I stayed for this one too! The lead singer has a great voice, very talented, all of you are very talented, keep up the great music!!!
WOW! An oldi but a goody! So humbling to see young talent tear it up! This had shades of Shakespeare all over it but full of laughter and fun. Great send off for the beautiful confident girl with the guitar. First time seeing someone else toggling a guitarist foot pedal. LOLOLder.Luv it.
Amazing to say the least! Watched afew of your videos very, very good! So young yet so good! Practice, practice, practice and above all have fun in which it seems you are! Great energy! And to the young guitar player Terry Kath would be proud of you! Keep it up! How about, Kansas "Carry on Wayward Son" just a suggestion.
Chumley, set the wayback machine to 1975. We gotta get these kids back to school by Monday. Saw "25" and "Never Been" i'll bet it sounded really great being there. I felt like i was watching a combination or aerobics, musical talent, pure joy, oustanding song selection, good voices, multi-talented instrumentalists who just flat out sold it, and i was buying. They all look like they are having a great time while entertaining and that's what music is all about. Just Red Hot.
