Honestly, as long as I get a working phone that I can text, buy apps, watch youtube, and listen to music, I don't care what phone it is.

Honestly, i feel Samsung, HTC, and LG phones are better than iPhones. I used to own many iPhones at the highest storage and when they first came out. I used to think it was the best ever without looking at or trying other phones. But soon, i decided to play around with a Galaxy S4 for a while and my god i realised how restrained and uncustomizable iPhones are. Really, one of the only good things about iPhone is looking very nice, being very thin, and having the silent button compared to those phones i mentioned earlier. Really, most people buy it because of the brand and dont even pay attention to features or specs. They just get what they see others get. iPhone isnt bad, i just think it isnt the best out there.

people buy iphones for the brand . people buy androids for the AMAZING things it does.

My main concerns when choosing a smartphone are: 1. Battery life 2. Screen resolution/density/type of display (AMOLED vs IPS) 3. Durability The Galaxy S5 wins hands down in all three of these areas. Next, I look at: 4. Camera quality (Megapixels) 5. Useful apps 6. Customization These are less important but still help to determine which phone is better for me. IMHO the GS5 wins again with the better camera in terms of megapixels and a wider lens, Google Now's integration and their apps including the Play Store (yes, I know some Google apps are on iOS), and a much more customizable operating system. -I don't care about a premium feel, since I always put cases on my phones. -240fps slow motion recording is awesome, but I would rarely use it. -I'm not interested in using my fingerprint to unlock my phone. I would turn this feature off on any phone. -I'm not a fanboy of either brand as I have owned both Apple and Samsung devices in the past. For these reasons, I would choose the Galaxy S5 over the iPhone 6. Each person's desires are different. That being said, just buy what you want and don't worry about what other people want. That is all.

Lets all agree on one thing....Iphone is sexy as fuck and almost all other android phones look like complete garbage plastic with "high tech" inside. My iphone 6 is fucking perfect and sexy as hell, every time I take it out in a public place people look at me and ask me questions about the phone and stuff. While when you go into public with that piece of garbage, you'll just get some little old granny taking a shit on it. Life is about sexiness not about the fucking battery life.

Id like my iPhone 6 Plus to have the security feature were it messages emergency contacts, but Everything else just seems unnecessary. I couldn't go back to Android just for that feature though.

Love your perspective!! Such a cool idea. I'm an apple lover, but you almost convinced me to switch. I had NO IDEA the Galaxy 5 had so many cool/great features. It definitely shows where the iPhone is greatly lacking. I still love my iPhone, but Apple has A LOT of updating/catching up to do. You really opened my eyes in a fast, concise, and easy to understand way. Way to think out of the box, guys!!

I agree with most of these, but 4x higher resolution does *not* mean 4x sharper image. A 100 megapixel camera can have lower quality than an 8 megapixel camera. @_Samsung Fans_ I *don't* mean the camera is inefficient in any way, I'm just saying that megapixels does not equal image sharpness or quality _by itself_ (before anyone starts attacking me).

I'll take the S5 (Android) over an IPhone, any day. Despite the iPhone has become a better device over time, the IOS running on the device will always be limiting it's users in ways I can't live with. Apple hardware, check - Apple software, fail!

I have used Android phones ever since smart phones came to the market, but decided to get an iPhone 6 in January. It's a beautiful thing, but wow, some things that were so simple to do on Android, are just unfathomably long-winded on IOS. For a mobile phone, you'd expect that being able to select a ringtone would be one of the simplest tasks. On my Android, I just went to the song on my phone, clicked on it and set it as my ringtone. But on IOS, you have to connect your iPhone to a PC and then use iTunes to create a separate ringtone file from an existing MP3 and then sync that to your phone. Only then can you go into the settings and select that song to be used as your ringtone. I cannot get my head around why Apple have made it so convoluted. I definitely miss the ease and simplicity of Android.

I have owned 2 Samsung in the last 4 years (Stratosphere II and 5S). But yesterday, I jst crossed over into the Apple iPhone world and WOW (I got the iPhone 6s). S5 with wifi and bluetooth on would be dead by 2pm yet my iPhone 6S has 75% battery by midnight. Now I have Facetime and it's so nice to see family across the country like the Jetsons.videophone, iTunes, and the soo cool fingerprint scanner to unlock my phone and apps that saves me so much time. 3D touch acts like a right click button to bring up menus. Can film 4k videos. The headphone cable is so cool with a microphone and volume controls and pause/play/fast forward. The speakerphone volume is loud and clear all the way dialed up to 10 whereas my Samsung S5 starts breaking up any higher than 8. Plus, Apple is more reliable because my Samsung S5 overheated after 8 months whereas my 9 year old iPod is still going strong. Now, I have access to Apple Pay, Apple Carplay

My Galaxy S3 has the LED notification, I can use it with gloves, it has the clipboard feature, I get a 2 hour refund policy, I can customize the home and lock screen, I have a micro SD card slot, I have a removable battery, I can set default apps, also it's cheaper than the iPhone 6. Just a few reasons why an even older phone is better than the iPhone 6

The one thing you forgot is how the screen turns, I believe. My friend just bought an Iphone 6 a few weeks ago and commented on how nice it is that I can decide whether I want my display to turn or not (I own an s4, planning on getting the s5 tomorrow.) I came here trying to decide which phone to get with an unbiased opinion and can clearly see the s5 is a more technologically advanced device. I don't know how some of you aren't seeing it... But in reality, it shouldn't really matter. Both are very VERY nice phones that have amazing features and I almost feel greedy for wanting more features... though I am paying for it, haha.

I think iPhone 6 was a better phone than galaxy S5 at that time. But today, I think galaxy S9 is better than iPhone XS.

You can love the Galaxy S5 if you want to, but just wait until the screen breaks and you have to spend twice to three times as much to have it repaired. Oh yeah, and good luck finding someone local to do the repair if you live in a small town. The Galaxy may work great, but the designers took a ton of short cuts when they built that piece of junk. iPhone is a far superior design. Ask anyone that works on phones for a living and, if they are honest, they will tell you that they would much rather work on Apple products than any other.

Hello from 2018. Back in 2014 android had more features, but now it is sort of neck-and-neck. iPhone has 3d touch and IOS, while Samsung and very few other android phones have sd and headphone jack.

Poor Android losers, for it's fast and cheap to add hardware specs but under the hood of any phone, there's a computer and it's operating system, which is what really matters. Operating System Software development is slow, expensive and requires a lot of different skills, and this is an Arena where Apple has been the winner for decades. I've got MacIntosh computers which, years old, still run faster, smoother and are more useable than brand new supercharged windows or linux systems. That's Apple 1st driving force and strength, 2nd is ... good taste. What Steve Jobs had to say about Microsoft: "The only problem with Microsoft is they just have no taste. They have absolutely no taste. And I don't mean that in a small way, I mean that in a big way, in the sense that they don't think of original ideas, and they don't bring much culture into their products" Is today valid for all these android phones producers and that's why they never win.

Number one reason that android is better than IOS. 1. Ability to use my phone without being controlled. I use my phone my way, it looks the way I want it to, and if I was an even bigger nerd I could create mods to cater to even the smallest of my wants. Apple fans enjoy your tiny little square collector, I'll enjoy MY phone.

So basically, the Samsung S5 comes with more customization, better specs, better battery life, better screen brightness and dimming, water resistance, expandable storage, and a better camera. With the iPhone 6 you get a little less lag and more smooth animations. Why are we questioning which is better? :/

After watching many videos, I decided to purchase the iPhone 6 rather than the S5 because it had a Smoother os, more tech support, no waiting for updates, better use of resources so there's no need to have a faster cpu and more ram, looks and feels classy, and you can't even tell the difference between 720p and 1080 unless your screen is larger than either 32'' it 40" I can't remember which. My advice to everyone is to go with the iPhone 6. :)

You can also check your heartbeat on the S5 right out of the box. There is a sensor on the back of it, and you put your finger on it and reads your blood and tells you your heart rate.

I want to see people just GROW UP! So many people are arguing "Oh the Android phones are better" or "Android sucks they copy apple" They are stupid phones. The only people fighting are the users! The actual companies don't act like the immature children people are acting like these days. We use to not have technology like these smartphones. Then when brilliant people make them everyone just wants to fight about what is better or 'more worth the money'! Let me tell you all my point one more time: Grow Up, and Stop Fighting.

Funny thing is that although I actually like both phones, the S5 strengths are actually what matters the most when it comes to mobile phones in general. I don't know about you iPhone users, but I really don't give a crap about sleek and high quality finishing on my phones, reversible charger port, more advanced fingerprint recognition, guided access, faster/longer burst shots, I don't even, who the heck uses these features anyway.

Statistically, Samsung is better than I-Phones. As of January 2015, 26.6% of the world buy Samsung and 16.4% buy I-Phones. But, currently, Apple might be ahead. It is only because they had to change the structure of their phone, to one that is bigger so they could get ahead. I-Phones are also more restricted than Samsung and many things that you aren't able to do on it. Statistically,Android devices are much better than I-Phones. Android devices are used by about 81.5% of the world and the other 14.8% is Apple, as of Feb. 2015.

You don't need NFC file sharing on iPhone 6 because it has AirDrop, which has been in the iPhone since iPhone 5 on iOS 7 Also, similarly, since iOS 7, iOS has supported third party game controllers :) Other than that, most of the other reasons are fairly solid.
