Here's a secret I know of from the GameCube days: It's been a while since I played, but I think after you beat Gloomtail, a switch drops, letting you delve deeper into the Shadow Palace, and you either do not press the switch yet or don't leave Gloomtail's room. There is a wall behind him on the right side of the screen, and you use Madam Flurrie to blow away the false wall to expose either a door or hole, and I believe there's Jammi' Jelly and an Ultra Shroom in this hidden room. My point is if you leave and head down further into the Shadow Palace, you can never retrun to Gloomtail's room, to my knoweldge, and so will never be able to claim these items if you don't grab them before you leave. How Nintendo expected any kid to know to check the walls is beyond me, and the only reason I know this tidbit of knowledge is from the offcial strategy guide at the time.
