I knew it was a set, but only because I had looked up where it was to try and work out if I could maybe visit one day. After finding out it was a set I thought exactly this comment! They need to make a real one! How cool would it be with the car booths and stuff?
another reason Tarantino played Jimmy was that Steve Buscemi was originally going to play the role, but he was unavailable. Instead, Buscemi had a cameo at Jack Rabbit Slim's.
I don't need an excuse to watch Pulp Fiction, I can never get tired of it. Every time I watch it, it seems like I discover something new that I hadn't noticed before. I like how Tarantino put things in the movie that were clearly only meant to be discovered upon reviewing. Clever tactic, if I may say so myself.
Yeah...after i thought about it . ....it just doesn't seem like it would work ......but it is acting maybe she could pull it off now? ......but i dont think back then but mainly i think jen was already ingrained in people's hearts and head's , branded as America's cuddly tv show "friends" jokester /big sister . .to soft imo... i say uma was perfect . it would be neat to see some alternate scenes with Fairuza balk or however you spell that......lmao...sorry! Or the girl from 'girl with the dragon tattoo '.... ? Just imo. Fer fun!
I definitely feel like watching this one again for sure! This is my all time favorite film and it just never gets old!! It’s electrifying!! And a masterpiece!!
I just watched Pulp for the first time in about three years. And holy cow this movie is so good I had to re watch it the very next night. Such a good movie so unique and mesmerizing.
I did too , late 90s , I'm in my late teens so drunk on vodka at a multi flat/units common room house party , lots of people , so much alcohol and a heavily censored pulp fiction on the tv , it was hilarious and annoying at the same time , ah memories .....
@Alex Jones I wasn't making that assertion, but Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Midsommar, Ad Astra, The Lighthouse...not saying they're necessarily better than PF, just that there are some great originals, which was my original point.
@Alex Jones I think you misunderstood. Pulp fiction is one of my favs, I own pretty much his entire library. But the original comment I replied to was saying 2019 was just a bunch of reboots, I was just saying it was based on cherry picked movies. By the way, Once Upon a Time is also Tarantino, why I included it.
Every time I see/hear something to remind me of Pulp Fiction or Kill Bill (both versions) I immediately feel like watching it again & again & again &... well you get it
I watch Pulp Fiction at least once every year to year and a half. I love learning this kind of stuff. Yes, it does make me wanna watch it again. I love the Mr. Orange/Pumpkin fact. Here's a fan theory for you: What if Mr. Orange and Pumpkin are somehow related. Twin brothers, cousins, I'll leave that to Mr. Brown himself to figure that out.
Me yrs ago I had it on VHS tape and it got. eaten in the VHS player and I couldn't get another one so I took the VHS tape apart and went in there and cut off the ruined part of the VHS cassette taped it back together with scotch tape! And it actually worked! I only missed about 15 seconds of the movie but it was better than NO movie lol and it lasted for a while 😉
I am just about to start it because it is downloaded to my computer and I have to get off RU-vid to watch it. HDMI to my big screen with my movie surround sound system is the way to go.
Shaft isn't a remake. It's a sequel. Jackson's John Shaft is actually the nephew of the original Shaft whom appears in the first and second Shaft films starring Jackson.
Little Trivia; Dusk Till Dawn, was originally a bank robbery story, but half way through the script, Tarantino and Rodriguez couldnt figure out how to finish the film, got stoned and changed the script into the final film we see today.. God Bless the power of Weed
I love the fact that Mr. Fox was at a cocktail party at like 10:30 in the morning, dressed in a tuxedo. For some reason that works better than anything, I could think of.
Another interesting fact that many didn't know was that Tarantino was going to do a Pulp Fiction/Reservoir Dogs crossover where the movie was going to be a prequel focusing on John Travolta & Michael Madsen's Vincent & Vic "Mr. Blonde" Vega
Did you seriously just say, "Thankfully now we have computers" about something that happened in 1994? Seriously? We had computers we had word processors we even had spell & grammar checks. The fact he didn't use one was a personal choice.
Yes computers and internet existed in 1994 (unlike the narrator I was alive back then), but to be fair they weren’t nearly as prevalent as they are today. The vast majority of people in 1994 lived their lives without the internet and with limited if any interaction with a computer. Especially a personal one. Kind of how like electric cars exist today, and they will probably be ubiquitous in 30 years but as for right now only a small handful of people own them.
I just showed my cousin that Simpson's clip last night while her kid was misbehaving. Paddlin' the school canoe, oh you better believe that's a paddlin'!
I could not help notice that when Tim Roth is called "pumpkin" by his girl friend, the restaurant booths are orange and just happen to look like pumpkins.
yes and im gonna! i went to see this on first night of release in famously rod up its botty Harrogate. to this day it is the only film where i have witnessed a standing ovation.......truly unforgettable experience!
For jennifer aniston at least her decision to do friends instead was a good idea. That show made her insanely rich and famous more than pulp fiction would have.
@@michaelberry1382 I heard (though I can't remember where) that it was meant to be a reprisal of Mr. Blonde and his death scene would establish this as a different universe from Reservoir Dogs. That wasn't the case.
Yes II am glad the actors that were in this Iconic movie were the ones chosen ,... they were perfect for the movie and yes I too now want to re watch Pulp Fiction !!! Plus Im now subscribed and liked your video …. so thanks and keep up the great videos !!
When doing a list of great movies from 1994, how can you forget "Natural Born Killers"? I remember seeing Pulp Fiction and NBK a week apart at the theater, and thinking that movies had entered a new era of quality and coolness. ;-)
I have always wondered if Wallace changed his mind about letting Butch go once he found out that Butch killed Vincent Vega with Wallace's UZI that he left in the kitchen when he went out to get Coffee and Donuts.
You forgot Marcellus bandaid was actually because vig rhames actually cut himself shaving before filming the bar scene with Willis. Vig was gong to remove it and have makeup cover it up but Tarantino said no and for him to keep the bandaid... hence the bandaid in that scene! Brilliant
I also heard, around the time of release, that Uma Thurman originally turned down the role but immediately changed her mind when she realised that she got to dance with John Travolta.
The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy My brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay My vengeance upon you.
Interesting that Gary Oldman/Tim Roth were almost cast as Jules and Vincent. In 1990 they played Rosencrantz and Guildenstern in a comedy about Hamlets two friends called "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead". Their characters were very "Jules and Vincent" like, and of course they were both english. Coincidence?
quite possible he saw it and got the idea for a 'criminal take' with his having worked them influenced the (re)casting... Being a 'Functional Illiterate" as the woman described him I could believe that after 3 years he forgot who the leads were; especially with Oldman 'disappearing' into so many of his roles
