As someone who works in a pharmacy there are ways to protect yourself from doctor’s bad handwriting. Take a minute to ask the doctor what is prescribed, usage, dosage, and frequency. Write it down in your phone. When you pick up your prescription ask the pharmacy the same questions. If they don’t match, red flag.
I work in social care. I heard about a case where someone was really offended as the assessor had said they "declined a cot" and the person said "but I don't need a cot!!!!" and felt like they were being treated like a baby. The note meant c.o.t. = cup of tea...yeah that happened 🤦♂
@@neilhallam8028 I was about to post this: "Some facts.. idk. Like how cows have a higher kill count than bears... well, people aren't usually afraid of encountering a cow or may even actively move to them. More people die in cars than planes? Well, wayyyyy more people drive and most shouldn't. Not faulting ze great Mike, fellow florida man, or even the facts. But there's reasons why they're so crazy :)" But you sort of beat me to the punch by the time I looked up. lol
A few weeks ago I was exhausted and almost fell completely head first sitting up out of bed and thankfully caught myself at the very last second! I guess I'm seriously lucky to be alive! 😹🙏❤️
at the point 19, here in Brazil we have SUS (Sistema Único de Saúde, roughly Health Unic System) that is a "free" health care (paid by common taxes, so the actual patient dont pay anything) thats based on a computer system unified on the entire country, so all prescriptions are printed (so no handwrite) and if you go to a public hospital on south, then travel to north and go to a hospital again, the doctor will know exactly what happened before without you having to say a word about it
25 this smells might be were people/school age children can identify others with ADHD or Autism. Without wanting to they start to not wanting to be their friends or what is worst bullying and isolating us. 24 I totally agree with you on this one. We all tented to deny because it is Very Scandalously. This is also scary for others.
Hello @list25, wonderful and insightful facts today. I'm sure we've all eaten castoreum at some point in our lives lol. For me, it's those swedish berries I ate so much of as a kid. They also have that ingredient.
Did you know you can get hypothermia without reaching 86° or whatever it is a rapid temperature drop of how many hours can also cause hypothermia. Just asked me, my first seizure of my life was because I got too cold and a pool too fast and had a seizure and sunk to the bottom ambulance came I had a mild case of hypothermia and ended up actually triggering epilepsy for the rest of my life
Well, the whole falling out of bed is completely gone if you sleep on a futon on the floor! I specifically sleep on a futon so that I know I can always get up off of the floor. I also have a routine of balance exercises to help me walk without looking at the sidewalk the whole time so that if there’s crack or dip in the sidewalk I don’t immediately topple. I have a bad right knee because I had begun to not clear curbs, cracked sidewalks, etc., and because at that I had unknown incipient dementia developing incrementally each and every day, it took me waaaaay too long for me to recognize this knee-killer was my new normal. I cannot recommend balance exercises highly enough.
You read in the news every winter about someone dying from exposure, or in warmer months someone who went swimming and got hypothermia, but 1300 deaths per year is a shocking statistic.
Yeah, I read that fact as well. The left side of the brain controls the right side of the body, and they can "sleep" that half of their body. Very interesting stuff.
@@titmusspaultpaul5 I saw it on a British panel show named QI. It's a bunch of comedians and they have a lot of interesting facts. Some is here on RU-vid.
hmm 400 bed fatalities vs 4 roller coaster sounds like bed is more dangerous. but then i wondered...almost everyone spends hours a night in bed but not everyone rides roller coasters, let alone do it for hours every day. so..if we normalized for man/minutes spent doing either would that make the risk seem different?
Okay thanks alot now I've got to figure out the best earbuds for listening to background music while I sleep. I can't unsee the fact that roaches love eatwax.😮
the fact at number 18 legit makes me confused as to why people still think doctors are never wrong, like bruh just like their handwriting can kill you even if they went to medical skill and got their degree one mistake in the wrong place/wrong time can kill you. Just be glad those incidents are rare
10. Porcupines often destroy outhouses because they are getting the salt in winter. That is why modern outhouse builders put a sheet of stainless steel where urine splashes.
I work in vet med and our writing prescriptions are printed from a computer. I think a lot in human medicine are as well nowadays. So handwriting shouldn’t have such an effect as it might have at one point
Printed or typed, acronyms are the real killer. SOB sounds like someone's saying someone else is a real sunnavab*tch.... nah, just that they have shortness of breath.
The Hunley didn't explode. It simply SUNK, and the men trapped inside died from asphyxiation. It's unknown if they encountered issues, or if the destruction caused by their success in sinking their target caused issues, or if they simply overestimated their timing to surface occurred. But they ultimately sunk and weren't found for over a hundred years, further out to sea than they had expected.
11. My family was waiting for my dad to talk to a guy about welding. He had tied his Billy goat out and it was relatively near our car. Said Billy goat proceeded to pee and drink it. Right then and there, I decided I NEVER wanted to raise goats. 🤮
These facts don't scale I'd assume. More people (most) sleep in bed thus can die from it, more people around cows (farmers) so can die from them, more people are exposed to cold (Canada) than tornados. Awesome facts. And I get it but it does sell the entire picture.
So times the rollercoaster deaths by 365. That would be inconsideration of you going to a theme park once a year. And, I’m sure most people do not go on a roller coaster one year. But, everybody sleeps 365 days a year. So, percentage wise, it is even worse. Maybe I am just overthinking it!
A fun fact about Le Petomane - he was so popular that many tried (and failed) to imitate his stage performances. But there was one lady, I forget her name and she was just too good so Mr. Pujol challenged this lady to be examined by doctors to prove her act was all "natural"! Well, it turned out that the lady did indeed have something stuck up there so she lost out. Also, they made a film of this gentlman's life, starring the late, great English comic actor, Leonard Rossiter. It's brilliant, if you can find it!! Much love xoxo
Last night I woke up at 1:30am I went back to bed and sleep again and I woke up to pee, but the time is 12:34 man! I traveled time hours from the past!!!
That’s why we doctors have to write prescriptions in eguale English . We don’t use Pharmacology language anymore! There are lots of bottles that make up words and I mean abbreviations from that that means something in English so it’s a doctor. I want to have sloppy handwriting cool means someone’s home or we were in their lives! We have been writing, scripts for playing Englishtown release the past 30 years. It’s better for us too, because we don’t have to remember all the prefixes and suffixes in Latin and Greek as well we can just write in playing English I guess script may be the name of the drug taken orally three times a day, one every six hours or every four hours. 7:58
Laying in bed is done by most daily so I feel like if people road roller coasters every day those stats would be diff. Same with cows and bears. Of course more people die from cows. They're in farms across the world and more people interact with cows daily than bears.
Dude.. wtf??!! Why?? Why would you do this to us??!! Really? Roaches like ear wax? Beaver dung in vanilla flavoring?? As I wake up seeing this, drinking my normal morning French Vanilla coffee.. I think I threw up in my mouth.. BUT I CAN'T TELL.. MAYBE IT IS BEAVER DUNG INSTEAD.. smfh.. LMAO.. thanks bro
Yeah! Why do doctors have such poor penmanship? I thought that going to school for years and knowing how important communication about meds were might have given them a nudge to clean that chicken scratch up.
1:40 No judgment whatsoever (and maybe I shouldn’t be trying to label), but wouldn’t a guy who fascinates about being with another guy be bisexual? I just get tired of so many people being homophobic when so many “straight” guys play or have played around with other guys. If there wasn’t such a stigma, maybe they wouldn’t so strongly label themselves as straight
I definitely do NOT fantasize about men, and I think MOST guys can say the same. However, a LOT of women fantasize about other women. Let’s face it 2 guy’s is gross, gay or not. But, 2 women, that’s a totally different ballgame. It may be a double standard, but it’s true.
