This is the joyous moment 25-year-old Italian-born German conductor, Nicolò Foron, led the London Symphony Orchestra in his winning performance at the prestigious Donatella Flick LSO Conducting Competition.
The final saw Foron compete against 30-year-old Czech conductor, Jiří Habart and 27-year-old Polish maestro, Jakub Przybycień, in a programme of the ‘Prelude’ from Wagner’s opera Tristan and Isolde, ‘In The Hall of the Mountain King’ from Grieg’s Peer Gynt Suites 1 and 2, and Berlioz’s thrilling Symphonie Fantastique.
After beating out 80 other young maestros from across the UK and Europe, Foron said he was “ecstatic” and thanked the “magnificent players of the London Symphony Orchestra”.

I don't like stereo typing conductors as jumping and doing unnecessary big jesters they are reducing this form of art to something that it isn't.

I would agree that some conductors want to draw attention to themselves by overly dramatic gestures. But, it is evident in this young conductor's body language that he is 'dancing' to the music for the orchestra, not the audience. He is reinforcing his interpretation of the music to them visually. On the flip side, any musician or actor, no matter how technically perfect, who delivers a performance while standing on the stage like a slab of meat, reduces a work of art to a mechanical exercise. Just my opinion. 😊

He has all his life long to reduce his gestures and have a more sober conducting; for instance, he's 25 years old and I appreciate so much this excessive energy and excitement. I find it refreshing.
