Agreed.....I had a 58 back in 1986 and I put the "big bore" kit in it bumping it to a WHOPPING 40HP!! That car would take me anywhere I wanted to go....it'd just never bring me back. A friend in highschool was all about VW's and he had a bug with a PORSCHE engine bolted to a bus tranny. If everything was just right he could pull the front wheels off the ground. (NOT a wheelie....but about 4-6 inches is all.) Combine all that with the NEW Judas Priest album......🤘🤘
@@makeityourself1 haha my bud had a Meyers manx ,single carb engine and huge wide rear tires. From a redline clutch dump it would pop the fronts up a couple inches in the right circumstances.
Not sure that rear wings creating much downforce sat that far below the airstream, but really nice to see a well driven and well set up oval Beetle out there.
@@herbienbrian2 On a Beetle the air flow detatches from the body at the top of the rear window, (search for images of Beetles being wind tunnel tested) meaning below that any aerodynamic devices become very inefficient (ask yourself why the funcup race cars have their wings mounted so high) The cooling grilles on a Beetle require high pressure (meaning slow air) which should tell you the air down there isn't much use for creating downforce.
That was quite impressive.. However l know little of what engine is used, but presume it's has a turbo... But goes well and hearing it change gear... sequential gearbox...🤔🤔
Probably 2.something liter with Porsche fanshroud....all the necessary goodies inside....I am intrigued by the box though, probably something that came from Suttgart too...
@@monica93304 Good stuff Monica.. 31 years ago I had a 2276 type ! with everything done..Scat crank, carillo rods, wiseco's, Berg F316 cam, Berg 1.5 ratio rockers, double valve springs, 42mm inlet, 37.5 ex valves, 48IDA's, Heads were done by Gene Berg..mega light flywheel, double diaphragm clutch, Feramic clutch plate, Transform gearbox, Plumbed for n2o, never used it though...made 247 rwhp...12:1 comp ratio...screamed like a motorbike 10000 rpm, but felt safer at 9000 , mostly used for strip in street set up...11, 21 at 182 kmh!! that was my life in those years, and I miss it!!

Sounds not like old beetle air-colded flat-4 boxer engine, sounds like old golf mk-2 1.8L line-4 water / liqueur -colded with small turbo charge 250HP engine !
Paukenschläger. Möglich, daß ihr den Motor vom Porsche eingebaut habt. Was ist dabei herausgekommen?
The car is a rear engine, she,s likely almost throttle driven, I don,t claim to know how to get positive steer with so much power. Best regards don,t try to take the fun out of it.
Not true at all...N/A react and spin a lot faster then turbo ones and torque can be problem with traction. That is reason why older F1 cars are soo fast.
But it drives like a front mounted engine car. So it's detuned. If anything, this car should be balanced not front heavy. In reality, this is a rear engine car and should be tuned for that.
Hi good nigth congrautlations for the pilot in this hard climbing,,, all amazing drive,,, thanks of share your video,,, greetings of your friend Oscar de Playa del Carmen Q R México,,,
250 horsepower doesn't sound like much on paper, but factor in the power to weight ratio of that kind power in one of the original vw beetles, and you’ll probably talking Dodge Challenger Scat Pack(392 Hemi), maybe even ZL1 Camaro territory.
Wrong. It's actually too powerful at steering. The rear end is either loose or following the very powerful front end. The front is so powerful it quickly gets out of control.
Is facile 250 hoseepower one coccinelle one motors subaru big turbo boum 400 hoseepower yes subaru in one motors boxeurs the vw cox boxeurs toue moteur boxeur the cox is one 🚀👉🙏
For those that do not know stock bug is like 1200lbs this one probably 1100 or so with 250 that is 750hp in average car today as they are 3000lbs plus. Not to mention lighter. handles stops and accelerates faster and better even with equal hp to lb ratio. This is like 4 wheel motorcycle.
Hi rat 22, ....never seen a 4 wheel motorcycle ?????? continue with Your calculations ..... a horse weights about 1200 lbs with one horsepower how many horses You need for six - wheel - ship with 2600 tons ? ..............oh dear .........
