I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease when I was 21. Crohn’s disease is a chronic auto-immune disease in the intestines. There is no known cure yet and in many cases, surgery is necessary to remove some or all of the intestine.
I’ve kept it hidden from most people, but I was diagnosed with Crohn’s 5 years ago. It has significantly changed my life, but I’ve become stronger because of it. Having Crohn’s is like dealing with a stomach flu on a daily basis. You can catch viruses more easily, are prone to severe pain, fevers, fatigue, and sometimes it can be completely debilitating. Despite this, I continue to push myself and my body to improve my art/work and refuse to let Crohn’s disease define who I am.
I hope this video spreads awareness for Crohn’s disease/Ulcerative Colitis (IBD).

To be so in touch and expressive with both your physical and energetic body... it is so fulfilling even only to witness it! My solidarity in your journey with this disease, may it only make you stronger. Thank you for sharing your art and your difficulty, honest vulnerabilty and the humble strength it comes with feel like some the most precious experiences of life we can give and receive in our time here. ♡

dancing like this is actually a superpower. completely inspired and entranced An amazing testament to beating Crohns. Seeing your energy, even if you don't cure it, you will definitely beat it.

I felt this in so many ways. I’m fighting left sided ulcerative colitis, and have been feeling so low. Thank you for sharing this beautiful piece, it released pressed emotions I’ve been holding in.
