In this tutorial I am demonstrating a straight pour. My favorite technique and in my opinion, the best way to get cells without using silicone. I think I'll name this one "Protect The Hive" I am using Liquitex Basics in Pthalo BLue, Prism Violet, Quinacridone Magenta and Cadmium Yellow Light Hue. 16x20 Canvas. 1Paint:2Floetrol and thinned to proper consistency with 90/10 Water/floetrol mixture.

You're also a fantastic teacher and have given me tons of inspiration with every piece you do. I will be using your Amazon link from here on out whenever I order something (anything) from them. I love this! In past videos you added a touch of white to phalo blue to keep it from being very dark when it dried. Did you do that here? I did a Gina-inspired pour similar to this one yesterday and this morning it looks dark. I'm wondering if I should have added that tiny touch of white. I didn't do that originally because I didn't want to alter the paint densities and miss out on the gorgeous cells.

Love this one!! When you say half floetrol, do you measure with a scale or fluid ounce?

Hi! Tell me something, please. How you can do that there isnt green? Why your yellow and blue didn't mix green? I'm beginner in pouring painting. I would like to make cells. Despite of use silicon oil I have only few cells. I don't understand why. I live in Hungary and I can't buy floetrol here. I use Solo Goya pouring medium. I tried the pouring medium of Schmincke also. My acrylic paints are different. I use Basics, Amsterdam, Renesans, Sennelier abstract. If I mix a paint I use the medium , the paint and some water also. First my mix was thick, I guess. Nowdays it is thinner. Can you tell me something?
@GinaDeLuca
@GinaDeLuca 4 года назад
It’s called the Rayleigh Taylor instability. Paints more matte in finish will create cells. Video (20) goes into my theory.

New subscriber here. I’m so new at this YouTubing especially editing but omg my video called Holiday acrylic flip cup pour looks so similar . I love these colors so happy to find you just beautiful. Unfortunately the area I live in this type of work does not sell well around here so I’m recovering from surgery . I plan on getting back to regular art that I used to do years ago which you can see that on my video called acrylic art show which I did for my home. You are such an inspiration thank you 🦋

Is the silicone back for the environment
@GinaDeLuca
@GinaDeLuca 5 лет назад
I just don’t like the clean up and I like the patterns of cells over the more random cells you get with silicone.

you said "you want that yellow to sink" but I see it didn't. It stayed on top just like the other colors did. In the end it came out fine to me .
@GinaDeLuca
@GinaDeLuca 4 года назад
It creates a different kind of cell when it sinks. See video (20)
