So, in an attempt to get all sexified for my boo for Valentine's Day, I decided to try the "Ever-Popular" bantu knot out on my natural flat ironed hair. But, of course, it resulted in a FAIL! Perhaps if I had done more bantu knots, they would have had a better result. Oh well, I made the best of what I had and rocked full frizzy waves. My boyfriend ended up love my hair so at least that didn't end up as a fail lol. As Always, THANKS FOR WATCHING!!!!

Yes the comb made them loose waves. When you picked up the comb, I screamed nooooooo...use your fingers!!! Your hair is so pretty!! Just like Kween said try it again with the smaller sections and use your fingers. Loved the video :-)

Ive never combed out my bantu knots but doing that gives it a great wave pattern....hmm i will try it! I also never did them on dry hair either, but i looove shea mositure curling smootie when i do my knots right after i wash my hair and then since my hair is crazy thick i have to keep them in forever!!! but i love ur shine...my hair is so dull!

Your hair is beautiful and love the shine...no wait! that ain't shine thats BLING in your hair! Try doing your Bantus on damp hair, using smaller sections and do them with 2 strand twists and continue to twist it til it coils into your Bantu knot. Works for me every time!

Your hair turned out fine. I try to leave my Bantu Knots in for at least a day or more before I take them out. My hair is really thick and I have to use some type of moisturizer and a little oil in order for the style to work. Keep trying it until you get it the way you want it, and don't give up.

You made it look cute so kudos to you. I think maybe you should have used slightly smaller sections and two-strand twist your hair then put the twist in the bantu knots. When my hair was straightened this is how I had to do it to keep the curl pattern all the way to the end.

This may sound weird. But the trick to getting Bantu knots to curl on straight hair is to damp the hair with water. LIGHTLY and then sit under a blow dryer for a hour it two or leave the Bantu knots in for at least 16 hours to air dry. Hairstyles like this you need to do on the weekend and let set. And also don't take them down with a come. Finger style them and ONLY use a pick to lift the roots a bit. Trust me it works.

Your hair s really shiny! I agree that you should do a two strand twist before rolling your hair into a knot abs also put some oil on your hands befor you take it down. Great job tho looks good

All I'll say is that straight hair really holds the shine! It looks cute, if you ever straighten again, next time don't comb it out, use your fingers first. Try twisting the hair, then wrapping the twist in the opposite direction do you get more definition. But like I said earlier, your hair is SHINYY!

Very pretty - what about maybe adding a light leave-in with a pomade on top; that may have helped with the definition. Still very pretty, shiny and bouncy - lovely.

Personally, I think it came out beautiful. I think if you has separated with your fingers that may have help with cutting down on the fizz, but like I say the over all look was beautiful to me. I know how it is when you have something in mind, and it doesn't turn out that way! Totally off topic....I'm loving that necklace!!! :-)

Nice but only problem was that yeaa like everyone said, the knots shouldve been smaller. And keeping it longer and doing it while wet helps too .

Use a little less oil too because it'll take longer for your hair to take shape naturally with oil. Oil is normally for when you use heat because heat dries your hair out.

I loved your how you moisturize your hair video. Can I ask why the knots were so big? Big knots make a looser curl. Try making the knots a little smaller. Do not use the comb to separate your hair. Use your fingers to take each knot apart.

I think you would needed more than an oil to help set it and not use a comb when separating. Still very cute. You should try pincurls in the future whenever you try the straight look again. By then your hair would be way longer and so it will lay better as well. I prefer blowouts myself actually as it's a nice inbetween. Love the necklace though!

It came out nice AHG...but it would've been better had it been smaller bantu knots and NOT combed out, it's best to finger separate BKO's. Your hair is super shiny...

Candygirl2319 is correct. Being that the hair is flat iron you do have to have something with a little more hold. And do smaller sections. But as always love your channel.

sweetheart to "set" it next time try a little water on it too, not to revert it but enough that when it dries it has set the style. Cute though and very shiny.

i tried to do a twist 'n curl on my straight hair and it was a huge FAIL! ended up frizzy, curly, twisty, and all kinds of wrong!! at least yours was wearable lol. also #boyfriendtag pleeeeease :)

I do bantu knots on flat ironed hair all the time and it looks great. see my facebook (Sha Quiah). I think you should try different product like olive oils' hair pudding and as they say, a little goes a long way and as others have said, finger separate instead of combing but lovely hair regardless.
