I'm telling ya, this honesty thing may become contagious... I admire the openness of Joey, which is behind the success of his stand-up careed, the podcast, and obviously his marriage to his wife. We are all flawed human beings. We all have things in our past that is difficult to reflect upon, and almost unimaginable to speak openly about with tens of thousands of people watching you do it. Joe says, "At 52, I'm finally becoming a man." I don't recommend total honesty in every aspect of our lives all at one time, because it would shock the shit out of some of the relationships you may have... but I must admit that is sure appears to be appealing, doesn't it? How liberating that must be... This man has charted the direction of where he wants to take his life, and he's making it work. If Joe can put the tragedy of his former life behind him and build something new and beautiful (and lucrative) at age 52, then if we are truly honest with ourselves... it can work for anybody with the proper commitment. If you're on that journey or contemplating such a change, I wish you all godspeed, and the courage to see it through. :0)

This was an intense podcast. Amazing stuff.

The finding a loved one dead on the floor hits too close to me. Mom had an aneurysm, i woke up to her pissed on the floor, puke on her face, convulsing. I just froze and repeatedly asked her if she was okay. It took me an hour and a half to call for help and i was 12. This man is the only one who i have ever heard speak about it with the same weight i carry every minute of the day. And being a long time fan, its the first time i felt understood. Thank you uncle Joey. Thank you so much. Even with all your mistakes, i look up to you🥹

Similar thing happened to me and I think it happens to a lot of us in todays society. Im still fighting to be a good dad. Nice to know your not alone. Thank you so much for your podcasts. Listen to you, Joe and Theo alot and they really help me get through my days. Keep up the good work, keep your head up and know that your helping out a lot of people through hard times be it through laughter or giving people hope to be better and keep going through this shitshow of a world.
