Welcome to my channel I made this video to help people that are coming from basic or just wounding about how AIT is going to go for you MOS Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the info. Im former Navy but my son was offered 25B 25s 12y 17 e 25n 15q 25q 25 L. So far he is gearing for 25B that's how we landed on your channel. Thank you for your service.🇺🇸
@@1onsight852 everyone’s been saying that pays more in civilian world. Good luck! I plan on signing with this MOS when it’s open, option 40 if possible.
Damn man. I was with D 447 for 25b AIT. We were 12 to a room, no DS anywhere on post at that time (2008) crazy to think y’all have drill sergeants now. And you can talk about school idk who told you it was classified lol
I'm doing 25Bravo MOS, and I ship out on April 7th. I'm freakin' anxious. I'm also curious what I should do with my stuff for AIT, (my civilian clothes and personal electronics). I'm gonna pack it and ask my parents if they can bring it for my Basic graduation.
You're going to go to Charlie, Delta or Echo 551st Sig BN. Have your parents mail your expensive stuff to you at AIT. *Absolutely* get or buy a *Windows* laptop, everything army is made for windows
Don't bring your electronic stuff or civilian stuff to Basic because if you bring it, you have to carry it and if you drop it and it's expensive, it'll break
@@Deus042 so not a Mac book? I’ve got a gaming pc but I’m not bringing that lmao. I was planning on buying a Mac but if your suggesting a windows computer then I might have to go with an asus
@@hutch5495 if you're going to the 25B course, no. The Army gears everything to Windows and Internet Explorer. Since you already have the MacBook though. You might want to get a head start by finding out how to run IE on Mac
Sounds pretty chill, ya know still in a training environment though so I would expect getting smoked every now and then. Do you know anything about national guard peeps in 25B? Are they in another barracks separate from enlisted or are they in the same formations as you for PT and all of that?
You actually don’t really get smoked at all, at least not in my company, Delta. Echo company is way larger in size and being that it is larger, you can get smoked occasionally (like once a month at most) if someone fucks up. I can’t say much for Charlie company since I haven’t apart of their company. Out the maybe 6-8 months of being here you’ll get smoked maybe less than 4 times? Most times over here the best advice is to stay in your rooms during off hours and keep it moderately clean, that’s it, other than that the drill sergeants will leave you alone. You have to seriously go out of your way for them to fuck with you. Also, all MOS-I soldiers regardless of component stay in the same barracks, meaning Active, Guard, and Reserve.
I have an associates degree which I did have some study of computers. My question is what should I study more of, what should I bring, and am I allowed to have ny own laptop like your buddy has. In the proccess of enlisting. Very excited! I know bct is tough and especially the army. Im preparining myself but just want to know essentials of what 25B goes through
When you get to AIT you can have what ever you want shipped to you or if you come POV you can always have your parents or who ever is taking you to AIT they can bring your stuff with them, but really all you need to bring is some cloths. and like bathroom stuff. and study wise they teach you everything you need to know if you try and learn it all now by the time you get here all you would do is just sit around for 6 hours a day in the school house. So i would just wait till you get here.
@InfiniteTony i went through in 2021 and they had simplified everything and made it really hard to fail we had a guy in our class who had been there a year+ because he kept failing and they just kept giving him more chances
@@MartianV2GG Wth that's crazy, I heard that if u fail u have to get a different MOS, is that still a thing? I wanna sign up for this MOS and join the Army NG in 2024
Is two to a room the norm? Or can you get your own room. If I go through this school house I’ll be an E4 so do you know if higher ranks get more privileges? Also for libo are you able to go off base? do you have internet in the barracks?
3 to a room. You can I guess get your own room if your roommates are graduates and your room doesn’t get occupied by new soldiers, very unlikely but it rarely happens. Regardless of rank, you’ll be treated the same, E4 is still junior enlisted. Currently maybe until the end of the year, no MOS-I soldiers are permitted to go off base because of Covid. Internet WiFi plans are $35/month (10 up and 10 down) and $55/month (50 up and 50 down).
Question - At 6:27 did you say "Policy Letter"? If so, what is that all about? And what is the policy on vaping? Thank you for the effort you put into the video!
Do you obtain any certifications during AIT school that you can use right away in the civilian sector? I'm looking to go the reserve route and want to look for jobs after AIT.
@@stevenperschall4983 If you're Prior Service, and you have civilian experience in the IT field, you could potentially qualify for a waiver of formal training, which would eliminate AIT for you.
no i dont know any but here there called mot's because there just transferring mos's so they have all kinda's of different benefits that AIT students dont
As a reclass - You'll TYPICALLY get more benefits than the regular Soldiers. But if you're acting immature, or stepping out of line, those benefits can quickly be removed. Especially for a SPC or SGT.
At far at ik you guys can all talk and I heard that alot of the 25 MOS's are going to be merging with 25B but the only difference is what they do like ik 25N is radio stuff
are you active duty or reserve? i am not sure which to choose , I would rather have more time to study for my bachelors (finishing my associates this fall in CIS). I am aware that in active duty I could only likely go to school part time but the work experience in the army would be good while I am in school
A word of advice from someone who got off active for school...go online and do active. I’m currently a year from my bachelors in information security. I wish i had enough stayed active and did online classes. I’m switching to 25b from my current mos in a few months though. Reserves isn’t fun at all unless you’re on your way out or already have civilian jobs lined up and just want to use the army for college tuition. Go active and you’ll have the everyday on the job experience as opposed to just weekends. Also since you’re close to your degree already you can eventually do Warrant Officer which is just a tech officer and that right there is a resume builder because it shows you were an expert in your field
@@Potus_313 thank you for the input. after next spring i should have two years to do my bachelor's if I am a full time student, but finishing that as full time student while active duty is going to be anything but easy. I may go the ROTC route and then go in as an officer rather than waiting years to become an officer or warrant officer. I am also considering the warrant officer route, working towards the Cyber Warfare Technician(170A) or one of the MOS' from the 255 series.
@@tommy11sixorozco9 have you looked into American Intercontinental University? I'm dojng their Information Security bachelor program now and its all online as well as accelerated. Its a damn good alternative for AC service members
@@Potus_313 their Bachelor of Science in IT (with a Specialization in Information Assurance and Security) shows 180 credits needed whereas the UTSA online cyber security bachelor's program only needs 120 credit hours and I will have 1.5 - 2years left to complete it once I am done with my associates (spoke with a transfer advisor)
I graduate from 25b ait July 26th man. I'm in software right now. Super boring. Remember it gets easier after basic but definitely less sleep. Enjoy the time. I'm on firegaurd right now and got pt at 0430 lmdao
@@dietrichedwards7173 dang lmao, how are you liking 25B so far? I’m really doing it so I can shift into a gov contractor or a good paying job for when I get out
@@hutch5495 i love it. Been working on skill ports so I can get vouchers for my certifications. Network+ and sec+. The school and learning is the best part.
@@dietrichedwards7173 good shit man, was a little nervous picking this job just because I didn’t want to have a boring time with it, and actually do army stuff, if that makes sense, even tho I love building computers. and such. I’m excited tho, I’ve got some experience w security +
@@hutch5495 if you like this type of stuff you'll love it. I don't know about active duty army yet but from what my drill sgts have been telling me, if you get sec + and net+ when you get to your first unit you'll have opportunities to be in higher positions. We shall see
