The lite is my favorite. I do multiple 30 mile rides on it and have a blast. I live in bethesda and there are hills galore. It’s a lot of power if you peddle and don’t mind put in some effort. Great video! I have a second battery for when I want to ride all day ;). Lectric is really hitting it out if the park on price, cost, quality.
I like the hill climbs, I enjoyed the steep grass hill reviews, personally I'm interested 4 things, motor size, speed, hill climbing, and range and you always do a good job in covering these areas. Thanks for the great reviews
Although I like the Magic Cycles for the torque, dollar for dollar, I believe that the Vitalin I7 "pro" is the best value for money in terms of dual suspension, power, brakes and mag wheels for $1450 all combined. Thanks for the excellent and informative video! May Ariel Rider send to you a free Grizzly for review.
I watched your 1st video and was amazed at how few bikes were able to climb the hill. It made me a better informed customer on my next Ebike. Ebike Companies make alot of performance claims about their products. You, however cleared the playing field. Thank You! I was surprised again by the results of this 2nd test. That Euphree Robin with a 500 watt motor beat alot of the 750 watt bikes. Let us all be better informed by watching JM's videos!!!!!!
Good comparison. My two choices were between the Tesgo SST and the Lectric 3.0. The Tesgo has a 1000w. motor, but it's heavier and another $400. I also like Lectric having a presence in the US if I need help. When I go camping, all I see are Lectric.
@@JeremiahMcintosh I did change to a SR Suntour SP12 NCX Seatpost and a Cloud ( seat (the one you reviewed). Haven't upgraded my wife's yet. She needs her seat too low to the Suntour seatpost.
@@JeremiahMcintosh That's a good point about the suspension seat post added inches to the seat height. I'm going to get one with a Cloud 9 seat, but I think I'll be okay as I've had to raise my stock seat about that height, because my new knee won't bend as far as needed , on the top of the peddle cycle, with the seat all the way down. I love it all the way down, when both feet are flat on the ground when stopped, but while peddling, it's killing my knee replacement. Dang it's hard to get old! But, I love my new Kommoda!! Thanks for the discount! Pretty soon I'm going to use your Amazon link to purchase a lot of accessories! Just need to figure out the right mirrors and seat post size for my Kommoda. Even though I used to teach my 4th graders metric, that was in the 70's! So, I'm new to metric and not confident in measuring. I need to get a metric tape. All I have is a really old, grade school ruler with metric on it. I wish the Chinese would stamp measurement on everything. Thanks, Friend!
Hey Gail great to hear from you. There should be a measurement stamped on the seatpost but sometimes it’s very hard to see. I’m surprised you would need one. In the kommoda because it’s already a pretty smooth ride.
Thanks for the suggestion. There is actually that chart in the video I showed it real quick. You could always pause it and take a photo. I did not put the price since price seems to always change on these bikes but there are links to each in the description, so you could see the current pricing of them.
@@JeremiahMcintosh Great followup test video! Better than the first with a more controlled surface! 👍But yah your chart flashed so fast I missed it too! Showing at the end of the video is where it counts most you know. Your list pretty much matches my list, but I prioritized Max Speed first, then Min. speed to climb the hill, because if you crawl up slowly, who cares, might as well be peddling! 😅 Surprised how poor the Gforce ZF and T42 performed and esp. when you see how the Max speed drops out so fast to a crawl!? Somethings gotta be up with their batteries or controllers? Any idea what may cause that?
Impressive lineup Jeremiah! TESGO and G-Force ZM in grass was interesting... The Road test is good too. Surprised theG-Force T42 spanked the ZF! Lotsa great bikes in this video
Wow that was another very very good video. To me this is the best way to see what kind of power all these different bikes have. Very informative. Thanks again for a great video Jeremy!!!
Thanks for this video. Looks like matching the controller to the battery and motor is the key to performance. I would love to see this test on an Amp Rides step through or dual suspension with the 1500W Motor and 40 amp controller.
Excellent comparisons, really helping to decide which ebike is right for me. Still undecided between between Lectric XP3.0 and Vitilan U7, but the decision will come.
Great vids Jeremiah 👍🏻 You mentioned your perfect bike would be mid-drive and hub motor, I actually took a magicycle ,dropped the bafang BBS HD on it, also a yamee fat bear 750 that I also put a BBS HD on , and yes the power is pretty awesome!
@@JeremiahMcintosh definitely! It is a lot of fun making one of these bikes a one of a kind... I also swapped The hub motor out of the yamee fat bear to a true bafang 750 watt hub motor with a 35 amp controller
Great work. It would have been nice to include the weight of the bike and the torque of the motor in Nm with the tests. Of course. lighter bike with smaller motor might have similar hill climbing capabilities. Thanks.
Keep in mind that you can have two bikes with an identical battery, controller and motor but if they are geared differently one will be faster up a hill and the other will be faster on a flat road. Fortunately it is really easy to change a front chainring on a bike. Temperature will also affect your performance and range.
@@JeremiahMcintosh Thanks for that correction. I was thinking of a mid drive bike. Plan to build my own using a Bafang mid-drive kit in the spring. It just makes more sense in hilly terrain than a hub motor like I have now.
Suggestion for future tests: In the past, I loved mountain bikes but due to my age, weight, and injuries of the past I find myself looking for an E-Bike for the first time. I also would presume that the majority of folks looking for an E-bike would be folks that are overweight. Is there any way you could add a pack with weight in it (IE: jugs of water) or maybe a Kettle bell or two to make your rider weight above 250? This would help those of use who need that extra help getting up a hill see what exactly would be a better choice. I wish I was 180 again but if I was, I would not be looking for an E-bike. Thanks for taking the time to make these videos. Peace
Try an E-CELLS Super Monarch Crown. 2 wheel drive, 2 batteries, dual suspension, torque sensing power assist with 9 (nine) levels. AND many high quality components for only $5,100. Compare its quality and features to the pricey ($7,399.) RAMBO Megatron. The company HQ are in Pahrump, Nevada, 60 miles north of Las Vegas. Love my E-CELLS SMC, especially for hunting with its 400 pound max load capacity, including rider. As one owner said, "It's the Hummer of e-mountain bikes."
You must have a pole barn for all those bikes 😁 Sell most of those bikes and start buying a few that you want to do videos on.. A Kepler vs Wicked Freedom series would get more views than you could shake a stick at 😁
If you really want to climb hills, build your own bike with a Bafang BBSHD motor. Or buy one from Luna Cycle with a suped-up BBSHD that will blow some motorcycles away.
Not really unless I have a problem with the bike and have to contact customer service. If I do I always put it in my videos about the problem and the fix but typically I do all my own maintenance.
They are the mirrors that came with the wallke but to be honest I like bar end mirrors like the one that was on the euphree bike I reviewed because it gets the mirror out further to see past your shoulder.
Have you considered a Wired Freedom? Would love to see it on your hills. Your riding area is more like my terrain and I have yet to see the Wired on anything but level roads.
I am considering purchasing a used vitilan v3 in my area for $400 over the lectric xp 3.0 long range because it has a 750w motor instead of the 500w lectric. Would you recommend it?.
Your comment about having a mid drive with it also having a hub motor, I've been thinking of doing exactly that with my XPrimium as my Ebike is my medically needed mobility aid. There are times when I NEED it to have MUCH more torque especially when I'm riding up hills as my service dog goes everywhere with me in his dog trailer. But I've wondered if you can run 2 motor controller & motor combos off the same battery set, & if they can all be properly controlled with just the one throttle? (Ie: getting the 750 Watt hub motor & external motor controller that would power Lectric's new XPedition) (Also maybe even have an option to turn either motor off & run the other motor alone) Any thoughts?
Jeremiah, I really enjoyed your reviews. I have one question for you. if you had to choose between a 26 inch tire and a 20 inch tire bike for every day riding which would you choose?
Personally I like the 20” tires because of their smaller form factor. If you’re a bigger heavier Rider a you may prefer the 26 inch tire tho. Honestly it’s just personal preference. I’ve had a few big people test out some of my bikes and some liked the smaller wheels and some of them said they would never get a 20 inch bike because it was too small for them so like I said personal preference.
@@JeremiahMcintosh PLEASE do a comparison video of 20" Fat tire folding ebikes vs. 26" Mountain ebikes! I'm very curious to see the pro's and cons from you for city, trails, hills and endurance tests! Very hard to decide as this test proved theres a variety that can perform well.
Nice comparison Jeremiah, thanks! I noticed both the Lectric 2.0 and the Walke bikes had some nice mirrors installed. Which mirrors out of those two do you like better and why? I think Amazon sells both under different brands. Clearer picture, more stable, more adjustable, any other qualities worth mentioning?
Actually the one I like the best is the one on the Euphree Bike because is goes in the bar end which gets the mirror out further and lets you see easier behind you. Sometimes with the others it’s hard to see around your arm/shoulder. Here is an affiliate link to one that’s similar on Amazon amzn.to/3ISKy62 Disclaimer…I will receive a small commission if you use this link.
@@JeremiahMcintosh The controller is a Sabvoton 72200 200amps, battery is 60v 40ah, QS205 5T motor, the 5t is good for torque and goes 30mph on the flat but I have a 3.5t motor that goes 70mph. Just different class of bikes, them smaller bikes are still good but each have their own specific uses I guess.
yep, seen the first one. looking forward to this one. @30:00 or thereabouts: do you think the bafang 750w motor is significantly better than the offbrand 750w motor? does the controller capacity seem to matter? I was considering the heybike ranger (500w) but re-thought since maybe a 750w (1200 peak or so) would be significantly more powerful. Now there is a ranger "S" that is around 1400 USD and 750W motor. If the diff in wattage is not that major, I'd rather have the older ranger. I am considering the vitalan U7 which is already 750w. I am encouraged that it seemed to perform well on the paved road hill. Seems a generally good choice, and really around the same price as the ranger (classic) with 500w
@@JeremiahMcintosh yep, that was most of the reason why I chose to sort of drop the ranger-classic and go with the u7...I am still evaluating available data but leaning toward the U7. I would be interested in any opinion you might have about that decision. I have not bought yet, and so far "amazon prime day" does not appear to offer any particular deal with either bike, probably due to them already selling pretty well.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t include it in this video, but you could always check out the beginning of my review video of it to see how it compares here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SeuByLGVlZE.html
@@JeremiahMcintosh sorry, I meant which one between the Engine Pro and the Vitilan U7? Here in Europe, I can get the U7 150 dollars more expensive than the Engine Pro.
I'm curious if my ebike can't make it up the hill, is it possible to push the bike uphill with some help from battery motor? with the throttle? I would be tempted to even use it a bit to pull me along too. if i let go of the throttle would the motor immediately stop?
Jeremiah have you looked at the Hipeak Bona? 750 watt motor… great looking…,seems to be a lot of value for the money. On sale now, major contender to Lectric??? I can get Hipeak now… but have to wait 6 weeks for Lectric. Should I wait? Your thoughts?
Hey Jeff. I haven’t tested the Hipeak bike so I really can’t comment on performance but the current price of $1150 with a 15Ah battery does seem pretty good. I don’t personally care for the red part of the frame on all there bikes tho. One thing to keep in mind is that Lectric will now have hydraulic brakes on their 3.0 moving forward and they are US based so easier to get a hold of someone if needed. Honestly, it’s your preference though and hopefully I’ll get time to test one out in the future.
@@JeremiahMcintosh thanks, Jeremiah.. and one more question. I’ve grown concerned that a 500 W motor is not quite enough. (For reference, I’m 5’9 and 165 lbs.) yet, some reviewers are saying it’s not about the size of the motor…. But how things are geared, whether it has a controller, size of controller, multiply this and that, torque, etc etc. So I’m a little confused as to what is Gould be looking for. I like the Lectric bikes… but they have 500W motor. But maybe there are other things about the set up of that bike that makes it more like a 750W motor? Some of these other factors? Could you help clarify? For example, perhaps the Lectric (500W) is actually just as punchy as the Hipeak Bona (750W)?
Have you watched both of my hill test videos? If not, I highly recommend them and you should watch both of them to help you understand. Lectric actually has more power than some of the 750 watt bikes I have tested but you should look at Newton meters of torque as well, this will help you up hills. You will notice in my hill test videos, that if you pedal a little bit, you will make it up most hills regardless you just have to work a little harder. For context, I am currently 175 pounds and in some of my review videos I was 165. There are definitely some 750w bikes that have more power than the lectric but as far as the high peak goes like I said, I’ve never tested it, so I’m not sure.
@@JeremiahMcintosh thanks and yes, I’ve watched both videos. Excellent work by the way. Fantastic content. So I guess I look for at least a 500W…. And then look at peak output (which I’m assuming is potential high end), and then the torque number Nm is also important.
I got the Hipeak Bona recently. I don't have a frame of comparison for other 750w eBikes, but it seems to be a pretty nicely put together bike. The Lectric 3.0 would be the most popular competitor for this bike for sure. Availabilty and the true 4" fat tires were the big things that convinced me to give the Bona a try. I'm trying to determine where Jeremiah is, because the landscape looks very similar to my area. The bike does pretty good on hills as well. I'm pretty happy so far.
Not much small incremental differences that wouldn’t show if you didn’t stop on big hill you would probably never notice a difference for average person.
It’s hard to really say which one is better depends what you mean. Personally I like the power and the hydraulic brakes of the gforce, but I also like the smaller form factor for traveling and the US based support of Lectric. They both have their benefits.
Hello, I was curious how tall your son is. Trying to get some sizing for my 4ft 11in tall girlfriend on the 3.0 step-through versus the standard frame. Looks like your son fits well on the standard frame and can touch on his tippy-toes
After doing lots of research on features and such, this would seem to be the final test. My list of requirements included a minimum 750 watt motor, but I ended up buying one Lectric 3.0 because I couldn't pass up the deal. That and the somewhat confusing wattage claim. I do calculate that I get as much as 960 watts from time to time. It surprised me how well it climbed a local hill that I was concerned about, that I bought a second 3.0 for my wife! My eye was on the Cyrusher Komodo, but I think the compromise was ok. Another bike I've got my eye on is an Ariel Ride Kepler. I hope that gets on your videos.
Ok, this is a much more me aningful power test than your last test. Many consumers have no intention of ever riding in tall thicket and didnt mention if ground was soft or not. All important conditions, meaningless interpretations dont help consumers with tainted conclusions.
Half these bikes have throttle on left side or the wrong side. That's a big deal, are they for lefties? Why? I wouldn't even consider them. Maybe you get used to, but.
A lot of times, it depends on the style of shifter. If It has a trigger shifter it would be hard to use with a Throttle on the right hand side but with a thumb shifter the throttle on the right, is it OK
OK, thanks, I'm a little sore, mine stolen yesterday right next to line of people entering exhibition grounds? 4 years ago 20 inch folding ebikes were all the rage with 1 1/2 in wide tires, can't find to replace now.@@JeremiahMcintosh
I'm 300lbs ,I have G-force t42 48v 20ah battery, i did adjust settings to increase speed by 3miles (before max at MY weight 26mph) AFTER settings max speed at MY weight 29.5 mph it hit 30 but dropped back to 29)
Okay thanks, but: Some you mention wattage etc some you can't be bothered or forgot to... A little more info and consistency please? I mean you could have even overlaid specs in editing too but nope.... Maybe next time?
Everyone should buy their kid one of those little ebikes 😂 .. To go on family rides.. Don't buy a kid an EBike to use out messing around without a parent near. They would be texting and riding and crash if no parent around 😂
All these Chinese e-bikes with hub drives are basically more or less the same. One pays USD 1'600,- and up and still has something but nothing at the same time. To test only a short climb is not realistic. Who only rides some feet uphill in real life? A good e-bike can do for example 1 mile in altitude up - a real mountain/mountain pass. It is hard to go uphill with a regular bicycle, that's why one buys an e-bike. Please test middrives and do the comparison middrive versus hub motors (front and rear).
same videos same hill same results lets do something new all bikes are different just because one goes up a hill better does not mean its a better bike
Guess you didn’t watch the video it was a completely different hill than my last test but you are exactly right power is not everything to everyone as I’ve mentioned in my first video that’s why I recommend watching my full review video of the bike if one is of interest.
Yeah the Himiway Cobra Pro would have done better than all of these unfortunately I was unable to put it in this video. You could always Check out my full review video of it to see how it compares on this same hill. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SeuByLGVlZE.html
