Further to the previous painting vlogs, this one finishes off the roof with the sides now painted, and very smart she looks too! If watching paint drying is your 'thing' then enjoy!
That's looks fantastic. I used frog tape and because my paint work is pants it pulls all my old paint off with it. Your boats got a proper paint job that stays on. I've got paint envy. Nice shiny boat Mr waterlily. Very satisfying result.
Yes Frogtape is the best when working on boats, it adheres well and will not bake on like other masking tapes in hot weather or if left for a wile, other tapes also leave the glue on things to add to our woes, its also good on glass!
I'm not going to ask why you keep a crowbar handy! I made a start on at least treating the rust on my boat but I've no chance of getting to your painting standard while I'm CCing. Much of my roof was originally done with that grip paint and I think it may be a double edged sword for roofs... clearly encouraged more folks to walk on it which is never a good idea (stones in shoes chipping at the paint etc). I think the texture also encourages water to sit on it. I don't have the issue with fairleads due to having side rails but they do have their own rust issue... they get a line of rust on the underside.
Hi, thanks for the post. I keep the crowbar in the cupboard on the boat along with my bolt cutters and balaclava... :) Yes im' of the opinion that textured roofs, although stop slipping (main point!) do hold onto moisture...
