I used a medium viscosity resin with a long working time for this pour, The colours just moved for over 1 hour and I just let them move.

Wow That is incredible! I’m curious as to how long after pouring the epoxy you put it in the bowl? You mentioned 40 minutes and the epoxy had draw into the center? Then at 3am you put it in the bowl! I know there is. Small window as to when the epoxy is sturdy enough to de-mold and move, but pliable enough to bend and round out? Also, do you need to polish the epoxy after it’s cured?

I poured this one more than one year ago. I probably waited 12-14 hours until I demolded and shaped into a bowl. I didn't do a top layer because I used a holographic mold and I wanted to keep the holographic design.

It's the resin itself. Resin intends to move to the center when poured into a mold ♥️

No worries 😉 Yes, I find that resin is always moving to the center. However, you need to be that different viscosity resin lead to different results.

This bowl has no food safe resin as top layer. I sold this one to a customer and she uses it just as a decoration piece ❤️

It's depending on the resin. With my resin I need to wait between 12 and 16 h depending on the temperatures. ❤️

Merci. Cela dépend toujours de la résine. Ma résine a un temps de durcissement d'environ 24 heures. Je sors la pièce du moule au bout de 12-14 heures puis la laisse dans le plateau pendant 12 heures pour qu'elle durcisse. ❤️

Hello Petra, I wonder if you can help me with a project I have where I’m wanting to create a similar effect to this video you posted. My project is 40 cm in diameter and I’m wondering if I would get the pigments to move to the centre on such a large mold like you have in this video? Any help would be appreciated 😊

Normally you can. You just need to have enough pigment so it's pulling to the center. My biggest piece was 30cm dia. so far. However the piece in the video was smaller. You always can help the resin moving by gently using the heatgun.

Wow! This is so gorgeous.I inked the initial striations and center,then when you turned it over and all the colours happened it turned into something quite magical that sparkles like a diamond in deferent coloured lights .Who needs a Christmas tree when you have a bowl like this ..Love it 🥰

Love the holographic bowl, I have gathered all the material you mentioned in you video. Almost ready to start making one! Question - What causes the resin to flow towards the center of the mold? When do you use a torch on the resin, compared to using a heat gun?? Can the thickness of the pour be changed to be thinner, without bad effects. I would like to insert the resin bowl into a wood turned bowl?? I like your channel. Vielen Danke 🙂

I try to reply to your questions as good as possible 😄 When you use a medium viscosity resin with a long working time, the chance is good that the resin flows to the center. I use the torch only to get rid of the bubbles. You can also use the headgun but please do not blow to much because you may ruin the pattern. Great idea to insert the bowl into a wooden bowl. Please show me the result once you have poured. I am so curious ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I have a question petra. Instead of using a gold or silver pen for the edges how would you apply the foil flakes on the edges? I’ve done it once with mod podge but was wondering if there was an easier way. Thank you for your beautiful work
