@@TonyAlbus To praise such a beautiful workplace it goes well, the equipment is absolutely amazing and in beautiful condition. After my workshop was robbed, I have a workplace that is 100 times smaller than you, I lost all the equipment and I am building my new workplace in the niche of our bedroom. Assembling some decent equipment is not a cheap affair in the Czech Republic and to place it in such a small space as I have available is the complete Tetris. We also have the same devices - PSG 9080 and Siglent SPD3303 I have version X, thanks to you and me OCP works, I did not solve the update and when I saw your video with the update fw I made it too and great, only after the update is in series instead of 64V only 60V. Man, this is an awesome collection. You're really into it. Impressed. What a massive and stunning collection of good & great old electronic devices. So far, I only have a few old but very good ones like the HP5316B and HP5384A Frequency Counters or a Fluke 8824A Multimeter still in spec after 25 years. Takes quite some time to find such devices being in a good shape and still for a reasonable price. People go crazy on Ebay trying to sell real garbage (scratched, damaged, dirty) for unreal prices. But that's part of the "hunting game" ... :) Otherwise I have a lot of the newer test gear in my lab, mostly from Siglent, Rigol, Keysight, Aim TTi, which are good brands for the Hobbyist. Thanks for sharing and posting your videos. Good content and good reviews. I watched quite a few already. Keep up your good work, man. Thumbs up!

So i ordered up a 600w 24v meanwell psu and 300w silicone heater. Monster mosfets. Since i didnt go with an ac heater, i cant use a normal method of a thermal cutout safety fuse in line to the heater. So im coming up with a thermal cutout solution for the whole printer. A safety circuit. Using a standard ceramic thermal cutoff and a 30 amp opto isolated relay....its gonna act as a contactor for the mains power to the psu. Thermal fuse pops, relay opens. Printer dies. I like ur lab. I need more room

Hey I see that oscilloscope in the back - Philips PM 3230, I have one too! My first oscilloscope, pretty banged up and grungy but only $50 and so cool :D The plastic on my knobs are all cracked and falling off, do you know where I could get new ones for it?

Wow! I love your setup. I am just starting my Ham Foundation course. Can I use a Meanwell 25 Amp SWPS for Radio power or do I need only Linear?
@TonyAlbus
@TonyAlbus 7 месяцев назад
Thank you Tony! 25 Amps is just about enough for 100 Watts HF and Meanwell is one of the better PSU's but myself i prefer a SMPS with noise offset, just to be sure. and 30-35 Amps ..those are made for Ham use

Hi Tony. Love your videos !!! Quick question - I have the ADF4351 LCD signal generator. It works fine - but the LCD goes blank after some minutes. The output is still there - but I need to power cycle to see the screen again. Have you seen the same problem ?
@TonyAlbus
@TonyAlbus Год назад
Hallo Steve! thanks. Mine does not have it, it stays on, is it a screensaver, is there a setting, or it goes off and locks? but no, mine stays on.
@HawkASTRO
@HawkASTRO Год назад
@@TonyAlbus Hi Tony - the screen goes blank and unresponsive - so if it's a screensaver it cannot be awakened. The software (PLZ-PLL-ADF) doesn't 'wake up' the display either - so I think it is a fault.. BTW - I am about to attempt the external clock reference mod as shown in video #112. I have a Rubidium Frequency Source set to 10 MHz. Your videos are very informative and useful. Thanks !!!

OK Tony, I know test equipment has a fairly low current draw especially when not loaded. But I would love to know what you total current draw was for all those devices that were powered on during the video. One other question, Is that loft space above a house or a business ? 73's Ian M5AXA

Hi Ian, i think if all is switched on it is about 1000 Watts , but its is never all on. it is on my attic where 'normal' people store there old suitcases and tents and stuff :)

If you put electronic devices side by side, don't they get hot? Wouldn't it damage the devices?
@TonyAlbus
@TonyAlbus 3 месяца назад
Most devices can keep themselves cool or at the designed temprature. but a big but. the lab needs to be 22-24 degrees C .. that last part is difficult in my attic, so most of the time only the used devices are switched on.
