I remember watching the news for the first time about sidecar race on national television in the '80s. The Sidecar racers should be as famous as the MotoGP racers
UK is in Europe, and we drive on the left. In offroad sidecarcross, the sidecars are fitted on either side- left for most British teams and the right for continental outfits.
Sorry, not a patch on the 1980's they have gutted the class with 600cc and that long wheelbase format sucks. Check this out, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-23hVL__JdOE.html
Q: These guys get ro run bigger displacement engines than the 600 cc that is the IOM TT class limit ? A: apparently No ... " 2.3.3 Displacement capacities FIM homologated engines (Supersport/Superstock 600): 600cc (from FIM regulations..)
Yes, the 2 stroke days were fantastic with Rolf Biland , Webster, Streuer at al.! High point of the afternoon in my humble opinion. It's unique it's asymmetrical, what other form of motor sport physically takes two people to get a vehicle around a circuit? Great stuff but a shame about the smaller engines.
rodhigh7 you are so wrong sir! All the controls, engines etc..... are the same as motorcycle, and the copilot is used as a counterweight in corners, the only thing diferent than a motorbike, dont forget the knee on the ground is used as a third wheel when applied on the ground cornering whith a motorbike.
And stock cars aren't stock, and V8 Supercars aren't supercars, and sprint cars don't sprint, and drag cars don't scrape along the ground, and funny cars aren't humorous, and touring cars don't tour... Stop being pedantic and you might just enjoy yourself, friend.
