I do not agree, that the ugly thing is the price with this car. Maybe in Norway it‘s different to other countries. I my Country the EX/XC/C/EC40 has better value for a car compared with VW, Audi, Mercedes, BMW, Polstar and other cars with this spec and dynamics. Maybe Tesla 3/ Y is cheaper and more efficient, but has it’s downsides. Maybe BYD Seal is a good alternative, but different, since it’s a Sedan. However- I love my C40 Twin Ultimate Mj24.
Great video as always Kristian, I unfortunately returned my lease XC40 R design last year and now have a Hyundai Kona EV. Unfortunately this is down to costs recently having a taxi driver drive into my car had another XC40 recharge, oh heck what a pleasure it was to drive that again. Pure bliss, the experience is so much nicer. Even now having a Hyundai Kona EV I long to have a Volvo again. So in maybe another 3 years I hope to maybe have another Volvo, I hope it would be possible for a EX60 when they make this or Polestar 3. Oh the word you was looking for, in English is lint roller 😉
Yes, I enjoyed the video a lot. I really like the pacing. Not talking to fast or shooting bullet points about the car or certain topics. I appreciate this. I was SO close to buying a Volvo. Have been looking at them for a couple of years. To me it seems like their loosing ground with their original customers and their wishes / demands.
I keep cars 10+ years. Currently driving a 2013 BMW X3 with 54,000 US miles. Being retired considering the EX30 as my next car. I like classic designs that age well. No real need for AWD or rocket ship speed. No doubt you enjoyed some beautiful vehicles. Good luck with your next vehicle.
Thanks 😎 Maybe I'll eventually keep cars longer. Now I just want to enjoy as many as possible. Temptations are around every corner and I'm weak as heck 😅
"I like colours, and as you see, I like Volvos" Sadly they don't come hand in hand...😂😢. Thanks for all your videos and looking forward to what is coming. Lint roller is exactly the word you were looking for😀. The car interior will be what you make it. Our blond XC60 started off with our 4week old baby and the car and child are almost 4 years now. The worst state it has been in is when we've had to hand it to the Volvo garage for maintenance. They are the filthiest bunch around that don't clean up after themselves! If the car is stuck with them for a few days there will be long term damage from their greasy paws and pens that requires parts to be changed.... If you know how to look after a car, a light interior is no problem, even with a filthy toddler A few wipes and a bit of cleaning is no problem. Just don't hand it to a Volvo garage in the UK...
Yeah that's a very good point these days 😂 Gotta get cars wrapped since Volvo can't provide. Yeah your definitely spot on. Won't be a problem with bright interiors if you know how too take care of it
Actually, the Winter-50% is not that unique for EV. I now have a MG ZS EV and in cold winter driving the 8 km to work I get about 50% of the range as I would have in summer. All my gas cars I had over the years was about the same, when it is cold and you need to get some temperature up to de-ice it you will get 50% of the range on a tank of gas. Maybe if a had a garage this would be slightly better but that would be better on the MG too. And maybe if I had longer driving distance to work this would be slightly in advantage of a gas car. XC40 is not that average, nothing is more average than a Model Y or 3, it is imply impossible to drive anywhere without meeting a huge number of them, at least where I live north of Bergen/Norway. So what is not, the MG Cyberster of course, but winter is coming... Maybe the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N ?
Definitely. The 50% winter reduction aren't unique for XC40. That's a more EV drawback. It's just something I generally hate with EV's. There's hardly any difference on regular ICE cars.. Well I feel I'm seeing XC40's everywhere here in Oslo. That's why it's kinda generic. And average.. However the Tesla 3/Y that's like mosquitoes.. Literally everywhere. Often they bundle up when driving in queues. Especially the white ones 😂 like a bad infection.. or nightmare
@@volvo_kristian At least in my experience there was a huge difference on my Opel Zafira (now replaved with an EV) that used about 50% more gas at -5 to -15 in winter when used to/from work. I had to to de-ice the car and get enough heat to get rid of moisture and with just a short drive, just over 7 km, this ehating part is a large part of the total energy used. But if you have a long drive to/from work the extra consumption would is a lot less
The lease on my XC40 Twin EV ends this year. A new one is nearly £200 a month more. It has been excellent and I'd have another .. but that cost is a holiday! Agree with your summary and I've ordered the replacement - a Renault Scenic e-tech Iconic. at less than I pay now on the lease. Main reason is the Google Android Automotive, but I will lose the performance which is fun in parts but Renault quote 379 miles WLTP and is a better car for me than the EX30.

I'm actually a huge fan of the Polestar 2. Got much love for it. Considered one now actually, but once again communication with Polestar, and also some of their systems, made it fall thru.. However the cars are great
My brother have a EQA AMG and claims 160Wh/km in consumtion in -12ºC so it seems Mercedes have done a lot of work on winter consumption. He have just been on a trip to Italy with it with no other problems than Italians looking at charges as free parking...
